This campsite is amazing. In a quiet part of the desert not surrounded by neighbouring camps. The most warm and hospitable host Emaad did everything to make us feel at home and welcome. He cooked us a great dinner and breakfast and was indispensable for the overall top notch experience. The transfer to the camp by a driver in a 4x4 was prebooked and hassle free. It is not recommended to drive to the camp yourself, not even in a Land Cruiser, since getting lost is easy and crossing the many sand dunes without experience or the necessary skills will get you in trouble soon. Highly recommended to spend at least one night here under the stars.

Had an amazing experience staying in this Bedouin camp in the desert. It is so peaceful! Like going back in time to simpler, less busy times. Imad the camp manager was also amazing. He is such a nice person and he cooks up such fantastic food!

The only downside is there is no hot water for showering but that is to be expected in a desert camp that isn’t connected to mains electricity. Having said that, the showers were refreshing and never actually freezing! Also it’s a little bit on the pricy side.

the stay in Queen Desert Camp was excellent, we enjoyed our time there a lot. The meals for the dinner and breakfast were tasty and fresh, no troubles with water, clean tent, comfortable bed, frienly manager Emaad was helpful, he invited us with a tea and dates, and provided adaptor for telephone charger, which we forgot to bring with us. The transfer was quick and on time, driver was trying his best to get us to the spot before the sunset. Communication with the administration was great, we got from them all needed instructions (where to turn off the main road, how to find the parking point) via Whatsapp without reminding.

We had an amazing stay at the Queen Desert Camp. The location is spectacular, all the staff were kind and knowledgeable. The pick up point was easy to find and transfer well organised. Emaad welcomed us with Omani dates, coffee and tea which was very special. Tent was clean and comfortable. Communication in the lead up to our stay was great and we were able to book the discovery tour. This was an absolute highlight! Our guide was very interesting. All in all an amazing place and I cannot recommend enough.

Our first experience at the Queen Desert camp was simply unforgettable. Everything, from the organisation, the communication with the staff, the pick-up at the meeting point and the transport to the camp, was flawless. Everything was organised around us. The local staff were extremely courteous and friendly, and the meals (dinner and breakfast) were plentiful. As for the camp location, it was breathtaking. The clean tent was equipped with the necessary comforts. A unique experience. Recommended.

This was a great way to get a bit deeper into the dune sea and enjoy a world away from the usual urban hustle-bustle. There was only one other couple there on the night I stayed. The food was great and watching the sunset over the dunes was spectacular. They also arranged a camel ride at the closer-in camp, and this was also a new experience that I was looking to have while in the desert.

While the staff were perfect in every way, they were from Bangladesh, so I feel like I might have missed out on a little of a more local Omani/Bedu experience.

Fantastic experience especially with the off-road driving with Masoud who is a brilliant driver over the dunes. Even he managed to get bogged down but expertly reversed out of it minus some of his clutch plate! Tent camp was comfortable and memorable experience sitting in front of a desert fire. We were the only guests so had first class service from Emaad and his colleague. He even provided the entertainment of trying to catch a desert mouse who was interested in our buffet. Food was good. Overall memorable experience

It was our fault but we thought the pickup was at the sign rather than driving down to the office complex. Would suggest including the 4x4 transfer fee in main price as 20OMR seemed a lot as an extra but wouldn’t have noticed it in the main price. Otherwise no negatives.

25 minute drive into the desert to get to queen desert camp. cannot be more remote and tranquil than that. you are welcomed in a local tent for tea-coffee and dates. The staff is wonderful and attending to your every need. We had the camp to ourselves that night and opted for a romantic candlelight dinner away from their main restaurant tent.

the 4WD pick up is not included in the price. Prepare 20 OMR extra if you don't have a 4WD, which is more than half of the accommodation's price.

The ride to the camp (we took a guide in other car; otherwise no way you find it!), was a magnifecent experience! I enjoyed driving over small dunes! The welcome to the camp, the food, the charm of personel were all great! Tent itself was simple, and really authentic. We loved it! It could be that a 5 star demanding guest would be a bit dissapointed, but it was what we wanted to be.

Emmad was the star of the whole experience, he treated us like royals and made what it would have been a great stay a very special one. We had a lovely stroll in the desert for the sunset and another to admire the sunrise. The tent was great and considering one is in the middle of nowhere nothing was missing.

Being escorted to the camp should be compulsory or included in the price. Giving the choice to find it or following another car and self drive is suicidal.
