I really liked to finally stay in one of those old style wooden houses with wooden furniture everywhere. The outdoor communal sitting area was very nice and had a microwave, plates and cutlery. The WiFi was excellent everywhere. My room was very clean and spacious. It had everything it said it would have, including a fridge, kettle and a proper desk. It's run by a very friendly guy who speaks excellent English. He will fill you out with everything you can see and do in the area. I hate tours, always prefer to do everything on my own when possible, but unless you are on a motorbike here, you will need private transport to see all the sights north of town. They arranged a jam packed day for me, and best of all. I was in charge of the time management without anybody telling me this and that. Had a superb day.

A bit overpriced compare with elsewhere in Thailand. I'm not a fan of daily room cleaning, and especially not when they come and want to clean the bathroom at 8.45 in the morning, just as I really need it to be ready for my 9am tour!

We loved our stay at the Boondee House - this place was an incredible value. We liked our room with the separate bathroom accessed outside our room and the common area. The staff were very friendly and helpful, even though because of the wet season we couldn't do a motorbike trip out of town, as we would have liked to, and therefore finished up staying only one night. We loved the neighbourhood - it felt very Japanese like - we even went to a Japanese restaurant for dinner. We wondered around the town visiting the lake and temples and the morning market but there didn't seem to be a lot to do in the town itself - so we went off to the Fern Resort just out of town that was beautiful. All in all, we enjoyed our short stay at the Boondee House and Mae Hong Song very much.

At first there seemed to be some confusion about our reservation. After discussion with the owner, he admitted the problem was on their end and upgraded the room for the same price. It did not have the sleeping arrangements we requested but aside from that everything was good. The room was very clean, the Wi-Fi functioned well and the shower had plenty of hot water! All is well that ends well.

The room was great, the bed was comfortable. The communal area was amazing, really well equipped with a kettle and microwave and gave a solo traveller the opportunity to chat with others. Very easy to have breakfast from 7/eleven. A good fridge in the room was so useful and the TV is an android system which was awesome.

The bathroom was a little tired.

The double room with AC is very comfortable, with a nice bed and desk, and good wifi (good to work remotely). And it is cleaned every day. Bathroom is somewhat small but the shower has good water pressure and hot water. There is a very nice balcony that serves as a common area. The staff is wonderful, Mr. Too provides many informations about touristics spots in Mae Hong Son and neighboring areas (he hands over a hand-drawn map upon arrival). The location is just perfect, at a short walking distance of all landmarks in Mae Hong Son, including the staircase to the temple Wat Phra That Doi Kong Mu and the main street.

Was quite pleased with the room size and bed. Very comfortable, A/C worked well and shower/bathroom was stocked with soap, shampoo and great towels. I come here every year and am tempted to reserve this room now so I have the same room next year. Staff was excellent, first order of business was to provide me with a map and a list of all the highlights, shopping, food suggestions, tourist attractions.

We booked room with 1x double bed and 1x single bed even though there was just 2 of us. We were so pleased we did as we got a big room and our own private little courtyard. The family are sweet and got us a kettle to make hot drinks. Would definitely stay here again

Bathroom was a bit small

The owners here are so lovely! I was sick during my stay and they checked in on me and offered to help, and let me check out late to catch my late bus. The room is very spacious, big desk, fridge/freezer and a balcony. The building is very pretty with lots of wood and a nice common seating area. Good location, easy walk to lake and temple on the hill.

A great value property that is clean and has everything you need. Easy to walk to places in Mae Hong Son and has parking. A gem.

The owner Boondee speaks good English and takes the trouble to brief me on the points of interest around Mae Hong Son including where to eat. There is secure free parking available for my motorcycle.

The kettle inside the room can be replaced as it is too old. The bathroom lighting is too dim and not enough wall hooks to hang my towel and clothes.
