Everything was just perfect to relax and spend a very special time. - Rooms were extremely comfortable, with amazing bedding and a nice system of lights to fit any mood - Beautiful views of the garden and forest, even during the rainy season this was so pleasant, very misty - Luxurious bathroom with private Onsen - Very quiet at night - Attentive staff, very polite, many small attentions - Great food at the restaurant, only ate there for 2 days! Breakfast had plenty of options. Great cocktails. - Free access to the public Onsen. Every time we went we were on our own. So peaceful.

It was a lovely beautiful hotel and had a lovely and very comfortable stay at the Onsen at Moncham during our visit to Chiang Mai. It was very spacious rooms and most rooms have a private Onsen in them. The restaurant is fantastic and the food is delicious. The staff of the hotel goes beyond service to make the stay comfortable. I stayed with my elderly parents and 10 year old kid, and all enjoyed the place so much. Great hotel and a lovely and peaceful location to spend a couple of nights.

The location was absolutely perfect and stunning, exactly like the photos! Surrounded by lush greenery and farms, it’s the closest one can get to nature and the perfect escape from the hustle and bustle of city life. We had the most magical stay there even though it was raining on and off - the thunderstorms and mist made the place even more mysterious and alluring The staff there were all very nice and helpful and friendly which made the stay even more enjoyable

On the second night of our stay, a group of other travellers nearby were very noisy at night which disturbed our sleep - though not the fault of the accommodations at all.

This is an oasis of calm in the mountains of Chiang Mai, it's like Japan has been transported to Thailand. The attention to detail, the level of service, incredible food, pampering at the onsen and massage. I went for a solo get away to recharge and loved every minute of it. it's the perfect place also to go with a partner or friend. I was particularly impressed by the decor, my bedroom size with a beautful balcony and swinging chair and last but not least with the restaurant: very high quality good from many different cuisines depending on your mood (so you don't always have to have Japanese food). Be sure to try the garden Onsen: it took me a day or two to discover it. I spent many an hour in the hot springs gazing up into the moon and sky.

Everything was great. There was some confusion about arranging day trips / excursions before I arrived however this was cleared up when I discussed with the super helpful reception team. Do keep in mind that this hotel is not close to Chiang Mai, and although there are things to do nearby, this is more of a retreat / getaway destination.

This place exceeded all my expectations. It's a gorgeous hotel in the mountains, perfect for those who want to disconnect. The onsen in the balcony of the room was great, the food at the restaurant was of very good quality and for a reasonable price. The onsen was great.

The walls are a bit thin so one could hear the guest next door talking or coughing. The staff working at the restaurant were very junior but they are trying their best to deliver an excellent service.

The location is away from the busy central area of Chiang Mai, and it was up on the mountain. To reach there, its best to rent a car so you can in and out as you please. My husband & I love the location because it makes us feel like a true retreat that we can relax and rest. Also, the staff/the manager was so helpful with our needs. I've requested a birthday cake for my husband as we were there celebrating my husband's bday.....the staff sang the happy b day song to my husband and he was so surprised and so happy. The onsen on the property in Chiang Mai?? It was amazing. Thank You Onsen at Monchem ~!!

Room not soundproof, woke up from traffic and animal noises (barking dog, chickens,..) Food quality not in line with the price (especially in thai context), quality is ok but too expensive for what you get Had to book massages way in advance to get a spot and no couple massage available despite the booking description saying this was an option. Note that the massages in the end turned out awesome! Not sure if I understood this correctly, there are very cool black swans at the property. However it seemed they were confined to a very small space. Again not sure if like this all the time, really hope this is not the case

Nice and relaxing stay. Very similar to actual Onsen experience in Japan. The Japanese tatami room was comfy and even better if you have the room with private onsen. Staffs were well trained and very kind. Big big big thanks to the restaurant supervisor Da who was super attentive. Made us all feel very warm and welcomed

water in the public onsen was too cold

The hotel is located 1 hour from CMX so very convenient. The surroundings are beautiful foothills and forest and the hotel area is really stunning with ducks, rabbits and nature. The room was better than I expected, like being in Japan. The Onsen facilities are equal to some of the best I have been to in Japan. Food was good, staff nice and I would happily stay again.

This is a beautiful setting and magically relaxing experience. The rooms are all well presented and comfortable. Surprisingly large and well appointed. The grounds are well kept serene and beautifully natural. There are so many fish, bunny rabbits and other beautiful birds it is lovely to wonder and sit in peace. The food is also extremely good.
