This is a comfy hotel with great views on both sides, kind staff, great breakfast and a pleasant rooftop bar. The friendly staff were happy to speak as much English as possible, and this was a pleasant place to relax and spend time, with good sized rooms. It was possible to walk down into the centre, and there are cafes and restaurants nearby. Overall, a lovely place to stay if you want calm and comfort - and the price was fairly reasonable too.

There were no real problems - just be prepared to check that your room really is non-smoking; my first option smelled intensely of the last person's smoke. But the staff kindly moved me immediately.

Nice room and bathroom. Breakfast served from 6am good egg counter, I asked for and got a nice small beaker of milk to add to the coffee from the machine, this attention makes it a 5 star breakfast. Excellent cheap laundry offer. Good value car from the hotel for days out, this made the trip for me. I will definitely stay here next time I am in Makassar.

My room was next to the lifts which were a little noisy. The gravity bar is ok for food but alcohol is expensive.

Location was excellent. Breakfast buffet extensive and good. Price is very reasonable. Our rooms had a beautiful view of the bay area.

It took 10 minutes to check-in, the guy seemed to be constantly reviewing the system. In the end, we did not get one of the rooms we had reserved and our two rooms were on different floors (not such an issue). We ate dinner at the restaurant and they served each meal separately. By the time the last meal arrived, my husband had finished his! Surely a professional restaurant should be able to manage this better. Also, definitely not the place to order a steak - the "medium/rare" steak was tough! One of our rooms was missing towels and soap. It took several calls/discussions before the towels finally showed up (the soap never did show up, our daughters used the shower gel).

Nice hotel near the sea in Makassar. Big comfy rooms, very nice pool with sea view, fantastic breakfast. Close to everywhere (if this is relevant in Makassar). If you get a non-smoking room, I would recommend and come again.

The hotel has smoking and non-smoking rooms (didn´t even cross my mind that still works somewhere, my fault) and if you are unlucky like me - get a smoker room and are strict non-smoker...well, you won´t be really happy. There was no other room available and had to "survive" it overnight. Also, the rooms next to the lift are really noisy.

LOCATION is very strategic. Nearby convenient stores; cafe Dapoer Sulawesi with reknown Nasi Kuning, morning Porridge and other snacks; Ati Raja, Ayam Goreng Sulawesi, Starbucks and etc. The spactecular beautiful sea view in the morning and sunset. Got good morning walk along the coastal areas. ROOM SERVICE: excellent service. Replacement of fresh white towels and thorough cleaning of the room was carried out immediately upon complaints. I appreciate the fast act. Suitable for family and business stay. Will comeback again and hope the hotel has improved the linen quality.

CLEANLINESS of the room: need to work on this. Ants were found along the tv and coffee table, accumulated dust on bed head and floor corners, greyish pillowcasing and dampness smell of greyish towels, and dried spots of foodstain in fridge. Pillows are too hard to sleep on that my neck hurt. Sofa needs replacement as the sponge inside worn out with spots on the fabric. ROOM SERVICE: Excellent service. Replacement of fresh white towels and thorough cleaning of the room was carried out immediately upon complaints. I appreciate the fast act.

Noisey at night. Downstairs has a disco next door. Goes till 3am. We had a room facing the city. Would be better if it was a seaward facing room.

Hotel is in good shape, staff was very nice and helpful. Room and rooftop bar is nice, life concerts everywhere (plese note that it is a smoking bar in case you do not like that). We only spent 1 day in Malassae so I can not really judge if loocation with regards to important places of the city is. There are boat transfers to the island close to the hotel. We did not see any close restaurants when we were out walking on the street. The hotel has a loundry service, not very cheap but all was done very well and wirhin 6 hours.

Nothing to complain, Note that the staff we talked to only spoke very little english, however we were always able to communicate what we wanted.

I just happened to mention our room was next to a noisy bunch of people at breakfast. The manager came over and upgraded us to an executive business suite. I said no need but he did. Spectacular, views of the harbour and so big rooms.

Excellent swimming pool with a good length for doing laps exercise.

The gym is very sad.. none of the dumbbells are in set.

The room was great with view out to the ocean. Fort Rotterdam is situated opposite the hotel, so easy to walk to. Staff were all very friendly. But I did not want to join the buffet for dinner (80% desserts which I don't eat), so I ordered a Mie Goreng, the only dish I had throughout my 4 weeks in Indonesia which was very overspiced and a complete waste of money.
