Just after making the reservation, half a year ago, we received an email asking if we also would join dinner so a reservation in the restaurant could be made as well. That was a very welcome question as we just stayed there for one night because we where on a trip to Spain. At our arrival we where welcomed by a very friendly lady. She showed us our room and said that, due to the hot temperatures, the swimming pool was open all day and night. Very welcome. It was hot indeed and man how we loved to go in the pool. At the pool we had some very nice snacks and drinks, the kids played Jue de Boule and Pingpong. After our afternoon swim we enjoyed dinner. We loved it and had a blast. Next morning we had a very nice breakfast outside and that was unfortunately also the day we had to leave. We highly recommend this beautiful B&B and will absolutely book it again as we take another trip to Spain. Many thanks for your hospitality! We enjoyed our stay!

Newly decorated room with AC, fab bathroom and dining terrace. Beautiful area and great vineyards nearby.

Cat excrement poolside, cats begging for food around tables. Waiter was aloof, forgot our wine and then they tried to charge us twice for it. (Female waitress was lovely!). Breakfast organisation could be better for the number guests they have.

The hotel looks attractive and well looked after. It was a clear but chilly day when we arrived - nevertheless, we had a drink in the garden as it was so lovely. Our room had a lovely dark wood wardrobe and wooden floor - but it was also quite modern. Our meal was lovely and the attention from staff was appreciated. We'd come here again as it was a stop-off on a journey to Spain - though it would be nice on a hot day.

We stayed in the newer family rooms next to main hotel. Was very spacious and clean. Beds were very comfortable. They have a kitchen and air conditioning. We did not use the kitchen but were told if we wanted to just let them know and they provide utensils. Would highly recommend. Very peaceful place... with outdoor pool, table tennis and other games to keep kids and you busy. Nice small bar as well. We want to leave a special thank you to the staff. We were supposed to arrive before 10.30 (before the reception closed for the day)... but didn't arrive before midnight as the lyon main road was closed due to construction. Anywhere in Europe they would have told us they would ca ncel reservation but the staff waited for us. My kids were so tired it would have been very difficult to find last minute stay... very grateful the staff. They stayed up till after midnight and then were there early next morning to prepare breakfast.

Arrived later than planned in Torrential rain not expecting to be fed . They were reassuring and very welcoming despite cooking and serving dinner for what looked like a full dining room. Got settled in our two bedroom suite, fed two terriers, and then enjoyed a delicious supper. The food is excellent and the St Joseph white topped it off. Breakfast simple, but fresh and inc. eggs meat and cheese as well as croissants etc. French breakfasts are generally underwhelming, but this was ok. 250 euro bill all in seemed fair considering the size of room which had a fridge microwave crockery utensils etc, As I mentioned, we had two dogs as well, but I don't think they charged extra for them. The rooms are very functional and comfortable. Saint Desirade is an old and typical working village surrounded by vineyards with a 'wine museum ' in it's centre. The hotel sell St Joseph wines, but sadly not the white we had with dinner (All gone!)

It was all fine apart from the weather

Really lovely family run hotel. Just perfect for us! Rooms were great, dining was in a lovely setting in the garden and food was fabulous, plus the pool was very welcome to our children!

Lots of mosquitos in the room and the shower was a bit leaky but these are minor points. We would stay again in a heartbeat but would bring mozzie spray!

The location, the building, the facilities, the restaurant with local produce and wine and the staff, particularly the lady on reception. This is one of the best hotels we have stayed in and would definitely stay here again.

Would make a big difference if there was aircon.

Great food, lovely breakfast, nice garden, clean pool, beautiful surroundings.

The garden house is not even close to the feeling of old rustic French countryside house that the main house has. The ikea furniture does not help. Make sure to get a room inside the house.

Breakfast was a bit disappointing: modest, not special.

The property is lovely and the outside space is fantastic for a family. We enjoyed playing boules and swimming in the pool. Evening meal was very tasty and the bedroom/suite was comfortable
