the room is quite spacy and clean, very good breakfast.

The staff was not patient, they did not have a good connection with booking page. a bit disorganized.

Super nice hotel. Very spacious and updated nicely. Really nice rooms. Comfortable bed. Staff were very helpful and attentive. Breakfast was included and it was very delicious. A couple of staff members that could speak English we're very helpful with our struggle with Google translate as our Spanish is still pretty minimal. There is a very nice restaurant on site and the food is muy bueno. Special shout out to Carmina in the restaurant. Super nice and helpful young lady. She is studying for the hotel and tourist business and is intent on improving her English. She will do very well. Her customer skills are excellent. Great location for the hotel as it's well within walking distance to Centro which was a pretty exceptional area.

Our very nice room had windows, but they were rather high and you had to stand on your tippy toes to look out. We should have asked for a different room with actual windows, our fault. They also do not have fridges available in rooms for milk and yogurt, which would have been nice to have. One morning my wife was not feeling well and I went down to the restaurant to have breakfast brought to the room. Even though we had breakfast included vouchers, they still charged us the full amount for breakfast. A bit odd I thought as I would have happily just carried breakfast to our room.

The breakfast was amazing. The room was very nice. It took us a bit of effort to be able to close the windows because there was a ventilation thing open under that we thought could not be closed and thar made the room super loud since it is in the main road. In the end we found how to close it and it was less loud.

We came in with a big discount so we felt a bit out of place. To walk around you have to cross a bit dangerously towards the center.

Hotel 5 de Mayo deserves 15 stars for huge, clean, and pleasant rooms offered so inexpensively.  In fact, you probably will not get this large a guest room for this low a price in any other North American city's downtown--my room including hot breakfast for two was $US34 per night plus taxes. Comfortable bed, decent water pressure in a travertine shower, and over 600 square feet, including a couch and sitting area.  Mostly quiet, though a neighbor's TV could be heard through walls one night.  There's even a small indoor pool on site.  And parking is free for guests if you have a car. Breakfast is buns, juice, coffee, fruit(fresh pineapple, cantaloupe, papaya, and watermelon), and an egg dish that changes daily alongside beans and chilaquiles.  Staff is pleasant and hard working.  Place is spotless.  Highly recommend if you seek a good value hotel in downtown Puebla.

Such a noteworthy value, my quibbles are small ones.  Hotel is on north rim of Puebla's historic zone, so you'll have to cross traffic-filled 5 de Mayo Boulevard to walk to cathedral, etc.  Workaround:  Walk along Boulevard to Convention Center area, and cross into downtown from there.  Hotel's ground floor lobby and café quite crowded and likely won't win any design awards.  No conditioner among bath products.

Large rooms with large bathrooms with good quality furnitures. Highly comfortable. Good position : 15min walking to Las Fuertes Parc and 20min to city center.

Poor variation in breakfast. Impossible to open windows. A little bit noisy because of proximity with avenue. Place of the pool in the bottom of the parking lot. Lack of open space to sit and enjoy the bar.

Professional and standard hotel service. Luis at the reception was very nice and friendly and made many suggestions regarding visiting different places in and around Puebla. Hotel was one minute walking distance to a newly discovered underground tunnels worth visiting. There was daily cleaning of the rooms and 2 bottles of water was provided daily.

There was no mini refrigerator in the room. There was 25 to 30 minutes walk to the city center.

The hotel is perfectly located between downtown, the forts' park and around the corner from a very colorful neighborhood. The facilities are great: very comfortable, clean, and you can park your car right below your own room. Breakfast is traditional Mexican and it's very good. Swimming pool was small but very well maintained and water was hot and cozy. All in all, a great place to be!

The air conditioner failed the first night and it seemed to need a mayor rebuild, so it was not fixed during our stay. We also experienced some lower than usual hot water temperature, but, it was fixed right away.

We loved having a room with a parking spot under cover just below us. Room was super clean, breakfast was very good and Alfonso the concierge was fabulous. We were super happy with this place given the affordability and cleanliness. We walked both nights to the Zocalo and felt very safe.

The second night we booked a room with jacuzzi and it was close to the road so road noise was loud. Older AC was also louder than we are accustomed to.

Firstly we should mention that this was a last minute decision to stop in Puebla and we knew nothing about it. Puebla is a great place and we wish our programme would have allowed us to stay longer. The hotel was also great. Everything. The room was massive.

The only thing is that it is a 25minute walk to the historic centre which you need to do for a decent restaurant and it's hard to cross the road!!

The room was very good, comfortable, clean and huge! Reception staff were friendly and helpful. The breakfast was good, a cooked Mexican breakfast or a continental breakfast (fruit, rolls and jam etc) for my husband who didn't want the cooked option.

The staff serving breakfast seemed stressed and could have been friendlier.
