We really liked the breakfast with lots of sweet pastry but also cooked eggs, fruit, yoghurt and nuts etc. We liked the very kind and good service. The garden with the pool was nice. We had a room/appartement in the ground floor, place for 4, with a kitchen, basic equipped, a medium size fridge. Great airconditioning and a cool and cosy basement area. Diecimo is a charming village with history and friendly people. There is a train station 200 meters away from Franco's Villa. They have some trains going to the nearby bigger city's (and back) but not like every hour, so keep an eye out. Bus possibilities too. In the middle of these big beautiful mountains you find a beautiful valley, for long early morning walks and running. Even a little outdoor fitness area. Lots of blackberries if you take a good look in August. (Tip: Restaurant 100 meters away: La Tana del Lupo, with very nice service and the thin Italian pizzas. Only lunch, but also dinner on Fridays and Saturdays.)

There are some trucks driving bye, in front of the house, every now and then (driving to some industrial area) but not that it bothered that much.

We booked a twin bed room, but when we arrived we had a double. Since the keys need to be picked up with a security code (provided via WhatsApp) we called Chiara, who spoke perfectly English (which is not common in our experience in smaller towns of Italy), and mentioned that we had booked a twin room. She handled this very accurately and directly we were provided with a new code, to pick up another key and we ended up with a double bed room apartment with kitchen without any extra costs: great service and customer care! She made us feel like at home. Breakfast was in the basement which was nicely decorated abundant although too many sweets for our tastes (but this is personal and depending on your preference). Overall excellent stay with a great location next to Lucca. We also highly recommend the restaurant Molin della Volpe di Fanucchi Luca & C. Sas, which is 6 minutes drive uphill and serves excellent food! We ate here twice, and both sea food as well as the Truffle pasta were excellent! The staff is very friendly and although English is not well spoken here, still with hand gestures and facial expressions you will get far enough to experience true Italian hospitality!

Everything wonderful holiday in a stunning location. Excellent and quick access to and from the airport. A great spot as a base for exploring the area. The train station is not far away. Parking is right next to the hotel. Comfortable room and fantastic breakfasts with delicious coffee. The villa is beautifully decorated in a Tuscan style. Plenty of attractions in the surrounding area. Absolutely perfect. Amazing holiday.😊

We recently stayed at Lucca Franco's Villa, which is conveniently accessible from Pisa. We chose this place because it's more affordable and not overly touristy. Despite being off the beaten path, there are great restaurants nearby. The shower was excellent, and the bed was cozy. We were treated to a beautiful view of the mountains, and everything was impeccably clean. The support we received on WhatsApp from Vania was outstanding. Everyone was so friendly, and they even offered tours and wine tastings around the city of Lucca. But the highlight of our stay was definitely the breakfast—oh my gosh! It was absolutely delicious with so many options. The breakfast alone deserves 10 stars.

The design was rustical but everything was PERFECTLY clean and new. It was a pleasure to stay in such lovely and aesthetically pleasing place. There was a nice breakfast and the staff was sxtremely helpful and polite (the owner respoded quickly, the self-checkin was easy, the staff at the villa responded to all our requests very kindly). We are amazed. Moreover the location was perfect for us, as we are a family travelling by train. Due to the fact that the villa is located in a small village but really close to the train station (4min walk) we were able to experience "the toscanian countryside" but also commute easily without a car.

Conveniently located between Lucca and the Garfagnana, easy to reach (car warmly suggested), good for people that wants to go for hikes in the region as well for those that just want to rest by the pool. Great Italian breakfast!

No sound insulation, you hear everything that happens in the other rooms. The water in the swimming pool feels overfilled with chemicals

Simply perfect! Check in easy! Great location, apartment spacious with everything you need, staff so welcoming, friendly and helpful. Plenty for breakfast which is mainly traditional. I’m not a breakfast person, but I was able to take food away with me to eat later. Outdoor area was great and pool amazing!

Nothing not to like.

Very clean and inviting in general, pleasant interior decor and wonderfully comfortable bed. Great breakfast served in a beautifully interesting room......the old cellars perhaps?.....staffed by a most professional, very polite and helpful young chap. Easy to find.......just seconds away from main road yet situated in a quiet and characteristic residential area.

Paper cups for complementary teas in room....... forgiven but not forgotten 😉

Great house situated near mountain. We stayed in a beautiful apartment in a stunningly restructured and tastefully decorated old house . The location was absolutely dreamy — peaceful, scenic, and perfect for a relaxing getaway. The breakfast was delicious, the rooms were comfortable. The lady at breakfast is very caring.

Loved the location and pool. Nice rooms and great breakfast with delicious Italian cakes. We had a nice balcony too. Beautiful area in the hills and right by a river. Well worth driving away from Lucca as the scenery is stunning. Also easy access into lovely Lucca, only 15 mins away.
