The hostel itself is clean, warm, and cozy, with hot showers, great water pressure, and a well-equipped kitchen stocked with all the utensils, pots, and pans you need for a basic meal (though you’ll need to bring your own food). That said, it’s worth enjoying the excellent restaurants in town. The hostel is easy to find: from the pier, walk toward the church along the main street—just past Nettó on the right, before the church. If you reach the church cemetery, you’ve gone too far. Look for the small, understated sign on the yellow building, then head around the back to enter. Tip: When you arrive at the airport, shuttles are waiting outside to take you into town for about $12 USD—well worth it, as it’s too far to walk (I mean you can…I guess). Ask to be dropped off at the Ísafjörður Hotel; they’ll know exactly where you mean. This is also where the Europcar rental desk is located, and check-in for the hostel is done here as well. They offer tea for about 400 kr, breakfast service may be over depending on your arrival time. They have a great lunch buffet as well. The staff are very friendly and accommodating, and they’ll store your luggage in a secure room if you arrive before check-in. You can use the WiFi at the hotel while you wait. A helpful perk: guests often leave extra gas canisters here. This can save you from buying the wrong type—there are two kinds: click-in and threaded. For example, I use a Jetboil, which requires threaded canisters, and avoided wasting more money after learning this the hard way. I even picked up an extra canister at the Hornstrandir Information Center (across from the hotel), but ended up using the one I found at the hostel until my very last morning.

No complaints

Checking in way smooth and easy. Hostel was clean and quiet. When I stayed, there were very few guests there. The kitchen was well equipped, dining area was spacious. There was also a rack for us to share/donate extra food so it did not go to waste, which was an excellent idea.

Everything was generally good overall. There is the usual noise/disturbance from other guests staying up late and talking loudly, but you can just go tell them to shut up after a certain time. The bathroom water taps do not fully close, so beware you can hear trickling water all night, so just go out and close them properly.

We were very lucky in that we were the only people staying here. We had a most luxurious stay with a comfortable room, lovely showers, a functional kitchen and a pleasant place to sit.

This place has the potential to be crowded if all the rooms are full. There is no laundry facility at the hostel but there is a laundry service in town if you are desperate.

24/7 reception at Ísafjörður Hotel, check-in/check-out very easy, very friendly and helpful staff, well-equipped kitchen, stable WiFi, 2 bathrooms, 2 out of 3 nights I had the room for myself as they didn't place guests together as long as there were free beds. As the other guests were hikers, too, there were no issues with noise, etc. As with other isolated places with great nature, you'll meet many interesting people. Ísafjörður is rather a sleepy town, but nicely located and perfect to come to rest and to experience authentic Iceland. The surroundings are very exciting and apt for loads of outdoor activities. Especially Hornstrandir is very wild and untamed. Greenland feels close, too (2 days on a sailing boat).

everything as expected; It would have been good to have a clothes horse or sth similar to dry the wet and dirty clothes. Maybe there is, and I couldn't find it?

Great equiped kitchen, long shared table to dine together, shared food shelf, not many people. Location.

I did not know in advance how many beds my shared room would have. The shower drain had some issues draining and water got out of the shower (repeatedly).

Very nice personnel at the check in + Location is good + Everything was clean + There is a common room with couches + Kitchen facilities were clean, too

You need to walk 5-10 min to the hotel to check in - there are no sheets included in thr price. I used my sleeping bag woth to avoid this fee, so it was not a big problem for me. - bathrooms can be buzy because there are only 2 of them.

Right in the center of town. Spacious communal area. Flexible check in times, even quite late. Free parking right across the street. Everything was clean. Lots of gas canisters left by other travellers.

The communal area was lacking seats. No bed linen included, but sleeping bags can be used.

It was a hostel - a bed in a room. The common area was nice with a great view. The bathrooms were nice and clean.

Having to hump bedding in addition to our gear from check in to the hostel was not ideal. Other residents were quite loud late at night but that is difficult to control.

Great location. Great staff. Hostel was good value for what you get. Would recommend!

Check-in was a bit confusing. Didn't read the email thoroughly though: make sure you check in at the hotel before going to the hostel.

This hostel is located right in the city centre, next to restaurants and a supermarket; there is parking that is a free of charge. The place is clean and nice and I can recommend it. The kitchen is fully equipped :)
