To stay at Villa Giona was by far the best decision my wife and I made during our trip to Italy. We had the best time ever. Villa Giona has the friendliest, most lovely staff. Special thanks to David, Zeno, and Romuletto, who provided us with not only everything we needed to make our time there the greatest ever, but also great laughter and good times as well. The food and wine there are some of the best in the world. This place is the loveliest, most beautiful and comfortable ever, and its surroundings are breathtaking, Villa Giona at San Pietro in Cariano is a must! Everything looks and feels like it’s out of a movie. Can’t recommend it enough!

Not a single thing!

Excellent Italian villa / palace that makes you travel back in time and have a taste of how the Italian aristocracy must have lived like before. Beautiful architecture, gardens and relaxing swimming pool. Very friendly and familiar staff.

The staff were amazing, so friendly and helpful. Loved the history of the place. I thought it might be a little old, but they have done a great job with modernizing it while keeping the charm. The food was great, perhaps a little pricey but very seasonable and fresh. The knowledge of local wines and the wine parings were great. Would Highly recommend this place to anyone

Neither of these things are a deal breaker at all, but since it was a little chilly when we were there, and since the pool is unheated, we were unfortunately not able to use it. You do need a car if you're visiting here, the bus is a little far away and unreliable, and taxis are expensive.

This is one of the best hotels we have ever stayed at. The estate is amazingly beautiful with an impressive country house or even call it a small castle, in which we had a 'tower' room that was huge. The service was excellent, the food was great and the wine selection was fantastic. And all this with great value-for-money. We especially appreciated the help and advice from the director and the barman (loved the wine recommendations). Def a place to come back to!!

Absolutely nothing

Everything! This is a fabulous palazzo outside Verona set in beautiful grounds. Our room was massive with windows on two sides and a huge bathroom. There was also a shared balcony overlooking the courtyard. It is a bit of a drive into town so we dined here twice and the food was excellent and great value. Service is first class.

The weather which was rainy but nothing else.

An experience to remember. Loved absolutely everything. We were made to feel welcome from the moment we arrived and every member of staff we had contact took the time to talk to us and could not have been more pleasant. The hotel setting was magical, with amazingly well manicured gardens. Lots of places to sit both inside and outside. The pool was a great addition and set away from the villa. We had an excellent dinner, with wine from the vineyards on their property. Truly enchanting. The villa itself has so much history and was a delight. As for the breakfast .... an amazing spread. They had really thought of everything. We tried to book for our return journey but, unfortunately, they are closed for the winter by then. We cannot recommend this hotel highly enough.

Perfect stay in great surroundings. Staff couldn't be more helpful or service minded. Pool area is great. Our room was impressive with a very nice terrace. Very close to nice wineyards (Bolla, Tommasi etc). Relaxing and majestic garden. Very nice wine bar in the evening.

Wish that the menu was more flexible in regards to smaller children. Rather difficult to eat at the restaurant with young kids.

Great location if you have a car, the staff were great especially Victor, with his wine knowledge. Also a special mention to David who runs the place, who very kindly gave us a lift to Sirmione. A great stay, great food, and great wine, and a lovely atmosphere.

Spectacular mansion and grounds make you feel like royalty! Impeccably maintained, groomed, modernization is seamless with old world charm. David, the manager, is a total dream: very gracious, funny, attentive, sophisticated host. His friend, Pacio, is charming and hilarious as a side manager. The food is terrific, artfully presented, and the attentiveness to guests is flawless. I cannot say enough about Villa Giona. The pictures do not capture it. Nor capture the essence of feeling while you are there. It is decidedly underpriced!! We will return with each trip to Italy!
