The staff were incredibly helpful and kind. Caroline is a very good host which helped us maneuver our way through Lamu. She fixed our transport and organized our activities, and ensured we were with reliable people. The breakfast and kitchen was good as well. The beds are comfortable and the pool was clean and a great way to cool down in the humidity. We were offered a nice and spacious loft with a terrace, which we really enjoyed and would recommend!

Was a little noisy from the neighbors, but everything works out with some ear plugs. The shower could be warmer and have more pressure.

Everything about Jannat House was awesome. The pool was so nice to cool off in the HOT Lamu climate. Honestly, I dont think we could have survived the heat without the pool. The service was amazing. We felt so welcomed. Like a home away from home. The chef provided an impromptu cooking class to show up how to cook the fish we caught. Carol provided good advice and has a reputation for being a good, honest, and caring manager. There are alot of areas to lounge in the shade. Its quiet but close to everything. When we come back to Lamu, this is the only place we will stay due to our warm, lovely experience. THANK YOU!!

Nothing. Everything was awesome and comfortable.

It was an exceptional experience being the first time in Lamu. It's very unadulterated and I trust this stays that way. When Carol told me someone would meet us I was very happy 😊 the shocker that turned into this amazing experience was realizing that our vehicle to the hotel would be a boat 🛥️. When I realized that was the way life was there and no exclusivity in terms of the hotel being set apart my partner and I absolutely loved it. We loved walking up and down the stairs to and from our room, great exercise 😂. The staff were awesome Carol, Festus and team were extremely helpful and awesome. It was more family than staff and client relationship. When you book and go there ask for Mzee Ziwa his tours of the town and even having to convince me to go for an over an hour boat ride to some village was a great addition to the Jannat experience Looking forward to another stay in the near future.

I really loved Caro. For my type of personality someone who stays out of my space is a gem. Caro checked me in and did not bother me apart from the greetings. She was still available and very helpful when I needed anything. The staff are so warm and welcoming. I absolutely loved my suite it wad super spacious and the property was so serene. Breakfast was great with great fruits. The balcony joints are to die for. I liked this place. Ensure you book the sunset cruise this was absolutely lovely.

The pool needs regular cleaning. The strews for supper were rather too spiced even after request but the chapatis and vegez were amaizing. Ohh this has nothing to do with the house but if you are visiting Lamu just note the environment is not so clean due to the animals so carry a mask if you want to walk around and do the Lamu tour. Also lower your expectations as the old town has no beach and its typically the coastal culture so a lot of noise from the mosques as well as the donkeys.

Festus, one of the staff members, was the best part of my stay here! He was super helpful with lots of suggestions of things to do and fair prices to expect for them, very welcoming and made me feel at home. The pool is refreshing during the super hot days as well. Very quiet place considering the fact that you're in Old Town which can be hectic at times.

The whole place could do with a fresh lick of paint. Of course, it didn't spoil my stay at all, but it could have been even more beautifully pleasing.

Great staff, super friendly and helpful. Kept the place clean. Grateful for the pool with Lamu hot days. Few of us ate lunch here one day & it was very tasty. Carol is brill, super responsive on the phone too. Got chatting to other guests at the pool and at breakfast, some from Kenya some from abroad.

Ants & crawlies in the room, this is likely just a Lamu thing not necessarily the hotels fault. Basic room & bathroom facilities. Also on the walk home you pass a shop & at nighttime men sit outside it, not unsafe but I felt a bit self-conscious passing by after dark. Which happens a bit allover Lamu as a solo female.

Outstanding staff that always helped when need and helped to get to know Lamu and the general life in Kenya. The food was good and the many sitting options where really nice. Classic Swahili house which helps you to get an idea how the life on the island was in former times.

I was welcomed by the chairman of tourism in Lamu and he brought me to the hotel telling me about the options for activities on the island, but his prices are far too high, so look for better options. Even so that is nothing bad about the hotel, I would recommend not to have a so close cooperation.

I was about to not book this place because of mixed reviews, but I am very glad I did. We stayed for a week, it really exceeded our expectations! Caroline and her staff were amazing, the place was always thoroughly cleaned in the morning, same with the pool, and the food was surprisingly cheap and really really good. Same with breakfast, which was also varied; many hotels lack that. Our special requests were no problem and they have many nice, private spaces to relax. I absolutely recommend this place.

Nothing to complain about! The pool could have been bigger, but considering the space available and the price, it was really perfect. Few guests around made the pool be private!

Kindest staff and wonderful location, sweet little romantic pool in central courtyard which allowed for regular quick dips in the evenings and mornings. Breakfast served on various levels of a converted mutli-family typical Old Town Lamu housing compound which successfully managed to retain and preserve historic and traditional features.

My stay fell into the last leg of the pre-season and, naturally, maintenance jobs were under way to ready the guest house for the main season to come. Some work noise and cement dust were noticeable, but bearable.

This is a very nice hotel in the Old Town set in a lovely 300 year old building comprising three houses. It's very pretty with lots of different stairways and areas where you can chill. It has a good pool and lovely staff. It's a five minute walk to the harbor. It is excellent value and breakfast was included.

It doesn't have air conditioning but it does have fans which are a little noisy but everything works.
