This place sets the bar high for Tunisia - and proved to be the best accommodation we had in the entire country. You pay for this, of course. The individual villas (50 of them!) are gloriously spacious, superbly decorated and equipped, and with an oversized bathroom that needs to be seen to be believed. The staff were attentive and friendly, and accommodated our request to move to a villa closer to the pool and restaurant. The enture place has been designed with luxury in mind. The only cautionary note - management needs to watch, as already, less than 2 years after opening in December 2023, there are small signs of fraying at the edge. No big things yet - a few dead or dying palm trees, broken bricks on the side of footpaths etc. But, given the price, these little things can lessen one's overall assessment.

The Villa rooms were spacious and the large bathroom was gorgeous. The indoor pool in the spa was beautiful and we very much enjoyed a swim after a dusty trip to the desert.

The rooms would have benefited from some outdoor furniture so you could sit on the terrace in front of the room and enjoy the winter sunshine. Similarly, we wanted to sit outside to eat lunch but there were no tables set up on the pool terrace so we had to sit inside. The indoor pool in the spa only opened at 11am which meant we sadly couldn’t use it in the morning before we checked out.

The mixture between the beauty of the south landscape of Tunisia and the luxurious well equipped villa is breathtaking. . the intimicy of the place combined to the beautiful touch of care of the whole staff working there... the breakfast was various and awesome. the services including the spa were of high quality.. in one word a pride for the region and we highly recommend it.

Our stay came to an end after three nights, which is so sad.. hopefully we will be back for a longer stay :) see you next time!

The Residence Douz was a wonderful resort, beyond my expectations. It was amazing to be able to relax in the middle of the desert like this. I especially liked the opportunity to experience the Arabic sauna hammam. All the staff, including the manager Mr.Anis Zayana, were very friendly and kind. I will never forget the hospitality of this hotel. Thank you.

The Booking.com website states that the hotel currency is Euros, but the actual invoice was in Tunisian Dinars.

The resort is located and designed fantastically. We loved it from the first moment when we arrived around midnight and still were greeted with fresh welcome drinks. For what you get (separate villa, a nice breakfast and wonderful restaurant, attentive and friendly staff) the price is a fantastic offer. It was the best hotel of our trip Tunisia.

Service in the hotel restaurant was attentive but hurried too fast through the courses. No dealbreaker but maybe something to be adjusted in the future.

Wow! This was the most luxurious room I have ever stayed in. In fact, it's not even a room, it's little house with two rooms, all huge, and huge luxurious bathroom. Everything is brand new, not just in your "villa" but everywhere. We also used spa services and those were great too. The whole property is very isolated, you feel very calm and safe. The staff tries their best to accommodate your needs. The price might look high comparing to other hotels, but it totally worth it.

Very beautiful place, each “hotel room” is a separate luxurious villa in a beautiful park. The staff is exceptionally nice and helpful. The outside and inside pools are amazing, every detail is thought of. Nice gym. A place with a lot of potential. Definitely recommend for a relaxing experience.

Restaurant experience could be better, staff was friendly but felt overwhelmed by number of people there, and acoustics could be improved (now very noisy when full). Indoor pool water smelled funny, perhaps filter issue.

We (a family with 2 kids at the age of 6 months / 4 years) had a wonderful stay at The Residence Douz. Amazing rooms, attentive and super child friendly staff. Breakfast was great and we felt very welcome in a positive environment, right next to the Sahara desert. The spa area is great. My best hotel experience in Tunisia so far, we even extended our stay. Really amazing stay. Clearly a new property, but the staff, the facilities, the whole experience was top notch. We stayed here before going into the desert and wish I had booked additional nights to properly enjoy the pool, the spa, etc... One of the top hotels I've been able to stay at and highly highly recommend!

Nothing, it was perfect. Honestly.

The hotel is small but amazing. Pure luxury everywhere. It is worth its stars. Rooms are so nice. Bathroom is great. The design is so fine and nice. Breakfast is one of the best I ever had. Staff is very friendly.

No activities. Even the babyfoot is only open from 9 to 17.
