This hotel is in a beautiful place! The fantastic view from the front porch of the room was amazing! Cooke City is a unique place. I wish that we would have stayed a second night to spend some more time there. The proximity to Yellowstone is convenient. We were able to get gas nearby and also pick up a few essentials at the convenience store next door. I am already thinking about how and when I can return to Cooke City and the Alpine Motel!

The room was hot. There is no air conditioner. That is fine (It was not hot outside). However, we did not notice that the heater was on when we arrived (our fault). When we noticed that was the reason it did not cool down when we opened the window, it was too late. Not a complaint at all...just advice to check the heater in August. :-)

Friendly and informative gentleman at check-in. He kindly let us grab our keys back the next morning, several hours after we turned them in to get something from our room. Nice, quiet location with seats on the porch for ground floor rooms perfect for sitting on to end the day. Close to the Yellowstone Northeast entrance (30ish minutes to Lamar Valley which is why we stayed). Much nicer than similar priced lodging we stayed at the night before in West Yellowstone. Parking directly in front of our room.

A bit pricey given no breakfast but to be expected for the location in the summertime. Be aware if you're a light sleeper like I am - loud water pipes (heard our upstairs neighbor in the middle of the night). Also, FYI, no A/C so it can get still if you don't leave the windows open.

Right in the middle of Cooke City which allowed us to walk for food and shopping. Dog friendly and plenty of spots for them to use the bathroom outside. Convenience to Beartooth Highway and Yellowstone can’t be beat. Great value for the area; fast wi-fi and super clean room. Staff was great at check in.

If we had to do it again we would ask for a room on the top floor or one of the single level buildings. Due to the age of the building, we could hear our direct upstairs neighbors’ conversations and movement until well after 1am and starting up again at 5am. We would also offer up the suggestion to the hotel to have fans in the rooms to help during unseasonably warm periods (no real use for A/C) and to also help drown out the noisy neighbors.

Loved staying in Cooke City MT Location is perfect for visiting Yellowstone especially Lamar Valley. Motel is older, but very clean and comfortable beds. Nice quilts and comforters for beds. Has a refrigerator and microwave. This is nice because not many places open to eat in May. We will stay again, hopefully next year.

Bathroom is small with only a shower. No heat in bathroom.

There was plenty of parking due to no one else staying there while we were there and we could park right outside our hotel door. It was quiet and peaceful stay. There was ample room in the suite and we didn’t feel crowded.

There wasn’t much for furniture just a loveseat and the kitchen table and four chairs to sit on while visiting and watching TV at night. No maid services to check if we needed anything. We had to walk to the office to get more TP and bedding for the pullout bed. We definitely could’ve used more than three hangers in the closet to hang up wet clothing after riding.

The suite was very clean and had everything we needed. Beds were very comfortable. Very close to the entrance to Yellowstone that we wanted to be near. Gave us the ability to see tons of wildlife thru the Lamar valley in the morning and evening as we entered n exited the park. The motel is older but very well maintained. The kitchen area had all we needed for our stay. Would definitely stay there again next time!

This location was great! Very close to Lamar Valley and Bear Tooth Highway. Rooms were clean and fairly roomy except for bathroom which was on small side. There was coffee every morning in the laundry room. There was a washer/dryer for use on the honor system. It was $5, I believe, to use them. The staff was very friendly and helpful and even found a corkscrew opener for our wine that he let us borrow. You could park your car right outside the door to your room. The town was small and there was no traffic. I was able to walk up and down the street to visit the businesses.

Wifi reception is very spotty but that is to be expected in this area. Doors lock behind you so be sure to carry your key with you at all times. Very limited dining options.

Great location only 5 minutes from the Northeast entrance to Yellowstone. The staff is exceptionally friendly and accommodating. Extremely clean. They obviously take pride in keeping the rooms nice. Excellent Wi-Fi. Pet friendly. Cooke City is a laid back community. Not overpopulated at all. Chad will always let you know what wildlife is in the area. He let us know where a grizzly with cubs was one morning. If you’re coming for wildlife viewing inside or outside the park this is the place to be!

It’s hard to name anything I didn’t like.

This hotel did not provide breakfast but there was coffee and that was nice. Chad who was the front desk person was very helpful and suggested places to eat and answered all my questions. Every restaurant we tried was excellent. It's a super quaint and beautiful town in the mountains. It was a necessary stop after a long drive out of Yellowstone Park but very much a gem.

Well when we first got into our room it smelled like pee in the bathroom. Everything looked clean. But there were two plungers. We found out on our last morning that the toilet plugged and had to use the plungers. It's an old hotel but very well kept and I think it's probably not unusual to expect some issues at this high altitude and isolated area.

Motel is in the mountains, so there was no cellular service, no internet, very quiet. Amazing view. Proximity to Lamar Valley, Beartooth highway, Chief Josef scenic byway. Was a perfect location for our trip itinerary. Beds were very comfortable, room was very clean, pleasant smell, strong water pressure in the shower.
