Comfortable, clean & cosy

This is the 2nd time I've stayed in this motel & I'd have given it higher scores IF the establishment would take out the big microwave from "under" the bench & place it on the bench to use! The microwave is underneath a cupboard where all the plumbing is. Not in even a power plug to use down there? What's going on here? For goodness sake take the microwaves out of the low cupboards and put them on the bench so they can be used where there's a power outlet! There is no way I could lift this microwave up, even a strong man could possibly do his back in AND customers should not have to do this...Why have a perfectly good microwave UNDER the sink? Unfortunately I won't be returning as it was the same last time...Please fix this issue

The motel is in a quiet street in Seymour. They are one of the few motels left that serve a hot breakfast (going right up to sausages, bacon and eggs on toast). A very convenient place to stay in transit between Sydney and Melbourne. There is a pub a few minutes walk into town that offers good pub food.

Maps show a Chinese restaurant conveniently opposite the motel, but it has not reopened after devastating floods a year ago.

The value for money and the facilities in the room. Fridge, stove, oven and microwave. Beds were comfortable, room was very clean and the shower was amazing!

The other guests, one vehicle drove in and out several times during the night and our next door guests stood outside our front door taking loudly at 6.30am. No designated car parks. Sensor lights outside rooms are a great idea but not ideal with guests coming and going during the night.

Comfortable enough for an overnight stay. There was a sink and small kitchenette which was handy for us. Only a short drive back to Town. The man at reception was very helpful with explaining the passcode to get into for room. Nice big TV.

There was no shelving or cupboard in the bathroom to put anything on which meant you had to put your bathroom stuff on the floor and clean your teeth in the kitchenette sink.

Very nice quaint motel. Great location for a stopover before a longer drive the next day. Friendly, easy check in. Pleasantly decorated, clean and comfortable. At the edge of town and a short walk to the Royal Hotel where we had a hearty pub meal. Will definitely use The Wattle again!

This is not The Wattle’s fault. Some guests departing very early were noisy. Probably to be expected as it’s a handy motel for an overnight rest.

Having breakfast AVAILABLE and DELIVERED to your room is becoming increasingly rarer these days!!! Food was very good - Thank You. ALL THAT YOU NEED - clean, very comfortable bed, warm shower, breakfast available, big TV - ALL that you need when travelling - AND at an AFFORDABLE PRICE!

Some firmer pillows...?

This little motel may look dated on the outside, but the rooms and facilities were great. We had a family room which had 4 beds with a small kitchen area between the rooms. Both rooms had TV's and separate heating. Rooms looked very modern for the dated exterior. The large TV in the main bedroom was huge. Would absolutely stay here again. Walking distance to local pubs for a meal.

Renovating quiet motel in a good location. Clean and comfortable. with everything needed for a good nights rest. I'll choose this one over the others in town next time I need to stay

Needed to lift the microwave from under the cupboard and lift up into the bench & fortunately I was able to do this. Inconvenient, but at least there was a nice clean one available.

The Wattle is a budget friendly motel but it was spotlessly clean, a great sized room with a table and chairs, an enormous TV screen, kitchenette was equipped with plates and cutlery, toaster etc. It had absolutely everything we needed for our one night stay in Seymour. The manager looked after us well.

Nothing- all great!

The room had been nicely renovated. Lovely comfortable bed and huge TV. The hosts had been thoughtful enough to turn the heating on prior to my arrival and this was a lovely touch. On check out I thanked the host and he said they always turn the heating or cooling on prior to guests arriving.

The only thing I didn’t like was that the windows in the bathroom could not be closed.
