A nice, simple, no frills little hotel in the centre of town. Probably the best there is in Tafraout? The rooms are rather basic, but comfortable enough. We had a twin room with a nice little terrace facing the front where we enjoyed watching life on the streets and a magnificent sunrise each morning. The staff are very friendly and helpful. They helped us arrange a day excursion to visit the beautiful and awesome countryside. Tafraoute is a delightful little traditional Moroccan town surrounded by awesome scenery and friendly people. We really enjoyed our visit. The public interior reception area of the hotel is magical, especially at night. Beautiful views from the rooftop terrace. I highly recommend staying here.

The breakfast is just ok at best and over priced (for local standards). Much better quality and cheaper can be found outside. We didn't eat here for lunch or dinner.

Loved it. Perfectly located in the heart of town with parking right outside, it is charmingly unassuming and slightly almost-shabby (not a negative !) It feels like a hotel from a Graham Greene novel, old school, atmospheric. The rooms are a good size, clean and comfortable, comfy bed, nice pillows, adequate bedding. But be aware, they are not exactly the same, we had 3 rooms in a row, all just slightly different - eg my friend's had 2 armchairs, mine had none, so check your exact requirements. Also, depending on the season, think about which way your balcony faces, ours had virtually no sun all day which was a disadvantage in February but probably a blessing in July. The heating is individual to each room and worked well, hot water was adequate if not exactly gushing. WiFi free and pretty good. Service a little random, ie our rooms were never cleaned, but for 3 days we didnt need it.There is a good restaurant/cafe attached where both food and service are lovely and wine can be discreetly provided on request. We had lovely views of the mountains, it was buzzy by day but quiet at night and excellent value for money. If I return to Tafraoute I wouldn't dream of staying anywhere else.

The location right by the main square is great, and parking was fine, though sometimes full. We got a room right next to the reception. I was hoping for a cozy fire in the evening, but unfortunately, there wasn’t one, and the common areas were quite cold all day. Breakfast was good. At dinner, the waiter in the restaurant was almost overly attentive to the point of being intrusive, but the food itself was nice. Unfortunately, card payments aren’t accepted. There were four of us staying, but we were only given three towels. The view from the terrace was lovely.

We booked a suite and it was stated that there was a single bed and 2 sofa beds. We were pleased to discover that this was wrong and in the bedroom there was a double bed and a single bed. The room description also stated that the room was on the ground floor but had a balcony. Luckily the room was on the upper floor as I suspected. The room was very spacious and had a comfortable living room. We parked our car outside the hotel and paid the attendant 10 dirhams a day.

The air conditioner in our bedroom didn't work and there was no remote control for the air conditioner in the living room. Luckily it wasn't summer and we could sleep with the windows open as there was no street noise from midnight to 08.00.

Hotel Salama in Tafraout, Morocco has the best central location in this small and quiet town. It has wonderful views of the high surrounding mountains and businesses from the balconies of the front-facing rooms and the rooftop terrace. All the rooms are well air-conditioned.

No porter and no elevator. The water is lukewarm and should be hot. Breakfast and morning coffee should be free. The older waiter in the downstairs cafe and restaurant is too dramatic, flamboyant and loud.

Excellent service. Perfect location. Comfortable room. Great value.

Parking is quite tight, but we still were able to park right outside for 6 nights. The room would benefit from a couple of chairs rather than a separate single bed. Our opinion but the hotel probably knows best from customer feed back.

Excellent value, good central location in the town close to shops and restaurants. We had no trouble parking in the square outside the hotel. Chambermaid was friendly helpful.

Initially difficult to find way to the hotel in a car using google maps --access is through the market. Hotel seemed almost deserted, often no one on reception desk.

Great location in the middle of town. Filling breakfast which we took on a tray to the roof terrace (thank you). The room was comfortable with blankets for the cold weather, and the shower nice and hot. Some noise outside in the little square till midnight but it was Ramadan and people moved on quickly. Parking outside was limited but we got a space.

Excellent value, good size room which was very clean. Great location in the middle of the market, but with parking directly outside the hotel. I highly recommend.

Rather over zealous waiter in the restaurant, who seemed more like an annoying Parisian waiter, than the usual helpful Moroccan.

The hotel is very well situated, the rooms are spacious and if it’s cold outside, the AC works on heating. Convenient parking just in front, and the staff is very friendly and helpful.

All the furniture and appliances are dated. The sheets are a bit old and overused. Towels were really old and distressed and the soap from the bathroom was low quality.
