We felt completely immersed in nature while enjoying the cozy comfort of being at home. This place gave us the *camping vibe* which is a nice memory of our past life. The atmosphere was so peaceful; at night, total silence let us fall asleep to the beautiful sounds of nature, ensuring deep nights. Mornings began with five-star-worthy bagels and lattes, absolutely outstanding! And the restaurant? We enjoyed good dinners with a menu that kept us excited for every meal. If you want a serene escape where nature meets comfort, this is the place.

After staying here for three nights and looking around the town, I would say this is the pick of the accommodation options in Jabiru and indeed Kakadu National Park. It is a beautifully laid out leafy park centred around a sizeable swimming pool with a licensed bistro set within a tropical garden. We stayed for three nights in a Queen Bungalow with a garden view. It was a modern studio, tastefully furnished, very comfortable and simply equipped but with everything we needed. It had a spacious ensuite bathroom with a great shower. The verandah was the perfect spot for having breakfast before setting off to explore the area. The staff were friendly and helpful and offered good advice on what to see and the best times to do so. The well-maintained park provided a tranquil place to stay and was nice to return to each day. The bistro had really good food, in fact I thought it was the best “pub” food I have ever had. One night I chose the snapper and another the wild caught barramundi. Both were excellent. Something not to miss while staying here are the freshly cooked bagels delivered to the store every morning.

It would be handy to have a small table or shelf on each side of the bed.

We initially booked the Mercure Crocodile Hotel for our time in Kakadu, but when it couldn’t accommodate us for our second night, we moved to Aurora Kakadu Lodge—and ended up wishing we had stayed here both nights. The accommodation was very good - a little bungalow/mobile home type - and it was especially convenient as our son was camping on-site. The campsite also has a bar and restaurant that, while basic, served tasty meals. The outdoor dining area was relaxed and very pleasant—perfect after a day of exploring. A great value stay with a welcoming atmosphere. Next time, we’ll be booking here from the start.

We stayed in a comfy but relatively basic queen bungalow which was ideal for our 3 night stay. We enjoyed some very nice meals at the poolside bistro and enjoyed a few swims in the lagoon style pool. The staff at reception and the bistro were very friendly and helpful. It was also nice having our breakfast on the small outside deck in the morning sunshine. Overall, we enjoyed our stay and found the Lodge to be a great base for exploring the Jabiru, Ubirr and Nourlangie areas in Kakadu.

No hair-dryer provided in the bungalow.

A great base for exploring the Kakadu National Park. Our one bed bungalow was spacious and well equipped with essential, effective air conditioning - albeit not the quietest. For sleeping we left the aircon off in the bedroom but running in the sitting room. Whilst you couldn’t call this luxury accommodation it provided everything we needed for this remote area and the facilities of the park were excellent, with a great swimming pool and really good poolside bistro and bar. We would definitely return for a future Kakadu visit.

The bungalows are quite dated and could definitely do with some modernisation and perhaps some additional attention to cleanliness. The cost does not really align with the quality of the accommodation but I guess that is the price of staying in such a remote location with little alternative.

The Bistro had great food! Pool was excellent. The cabin was fine and OK. Great having the cabins located more privately among the trees. Lovely friendly staff.

It was incredibly expensive for what the cabin actually was, but I realise we are paying for the remote location. Bring your own hot plate if you want to do your own cooking. They don't have one! There's only a microwave and an electric frypan. Be prepared that due to remoteness, food is pricey at the bistro, but they have a good chef! Best barramundi I've ever had!

The place is really good. There are all the things you need in the camp kitchen. We drove all over Kakadu from there. The staff were all friendly young people. The beds were pretty good. The shared bathrooms were clean. I wish our door had a screen door like the other block did. In the evening , the pool area for dinner was very relaxing and fun. Food os excellent. We also cooked our own dinner with supplies we brought. You must do the Yellow River sunset cruise. It's lovely and a wonderful way to see the birds and crocs of the region.

The rooms are very basic. Bring in the supplies you need, not a lot of groceries in the park and everything is pricey. Folks could be a bit loud but everyone did respect quiet times.

Jabiru is a convenient location to stay in Kakadu and is cheaper than Cooinda. We spent two nights here after coming up from Cooinda via Jim’s Falls on the first day and then visiting the rock paintings and lookout at Ubirr and Cahill’s Crossing before going onto Darwin. From the road look for the sign saying Kakadu Lodge not Aurora. There was one double bed and a bunk bed with two singles with sheets and coverlets only but with two spare blankets if weight was needed and two extra pillows. Bed lights and double power points are above all beds, including top and bottom bunks, with another one with a power board above the fridge but no points near the desk. There was a hanging space with coat hangers. The room was supplied with towels, soap and small bottles of conditioning shampoo. The communal showers were hot and had good pressure. They consisted of two compartments so there was room to store clothes while showering. The laundry was $3 for the washing machines. The shared kitchen was well equipped? We stayed in room 20 where we were next to a camp kitchen and the bathrooms. Despite that we didn’t find it noisy and we found the location convenient and you can walk on pavement to both facilities. There is no wifi but we had Optus phone signal.

Be aware there there is no wifi but we had Optus phone signal (so Telstra would be OK). Also note that, despite the price, most rooms don’t have ensuites.

In central Jabiru with well maintained and very spacious cabins for two people. Amenities within cabin were excellent with a large bathroom and good hot shower pressure. There are shops as such in Jabiru and you would need to visit the supermarket before 5.30pm for supplies etc.

The only drawback were no side table for the bed and cabin only contained two lounge type chairs and a small round table - it would have much better to have a small kitchen table and chairs to match. Steps onto cabin veranda may need a safety rail for less mobile guests.

Neal, Lexie, house keeping and all the crew at Aurora absolutely blew us away with their hospitality and willingness to assist us during a challenging time whilst our vehicle required repairs. The property itself is also very large and well equipped with a huge variety of accommodation options and many fully equipped multi user facilities for guests. We will definitely be back at Aurora should we have the pleasure of staying in Kakadu again. Thank you Aurora!!
