Staff were welcoming and friendly. Room was very clean, as was bed linen and towels. Nice touches with toiletries and refreshments. Had all you needed for a stopover.

First impressions let the motel down as it’s rather dated and a little scruffy. The rooms have been updated and are quite pleasant and very clean. Bistro served a large range menu and the food was tasty and reasonably priced. The “bistro” was heaving and very noisy but the service was first rate, more like a fast food restaurant. Not really a relaxed dining experience but there seemed little else as an option.

Shower didn’t work when everyone else using in the evening. Took ages to get luke warm then only lasted about 30 seconds before going cold again. We only had this issue once though the rest of the time our showers were fine. No iron - my husband went to ask for an iron from reception and was told it had been stolen told him he could go buy one at the hardware next door if he wanted one. A motel should supply an iron even if it got stolen they should replace it especially since they don’t have them in individual rooms.

Was very surprised that we received a complimentary breakfast when we were only booked in for one night.

There was no smoke alarm in our room. The toilet roll holder was hanging off of the wall, the hook behind the bathroom door was loose, as was the fitting for the hand towel near the basin. It was a very warm night and there was only a small window to open near the single bed and a high window in the bathroom above the toilet which did not open very far. Neither windows let in much fresh air to the room during the day or night. Had to leave the front door ajar when we were there for fresh air.

The rooms were set up very well. In particular the kitchen amenities available in each room were outstanding!

The internet service was terrible. We had internet for a few minutes when we arrived, but after that there was nothing. When I went to the office to ask them to reset the modem or check the problem they just said that there is nothing to do about it!

Mallacoota is a wonderful place to explore. The views popup everywhere and I wish we had had access to some boating. The rooms were motel like behind a pub, which had a nice selection of food. Walks are beautiful and well worth it. Being Australia Day, which we didn't know was happening that weekend, Mallacoota was packed with people.

That night (it was Australia night!) the pub provided a loud noisy band late. Fortunately our room was far enough away that the noise late into the night was not overpowering. We heard complaints the next day, however, from those closer. We were not warned of the loud band.

I was just impressed all round, to begin with they organised a room where we could stay with our dog, there was a lovely court yard area where we could have breakfast in the morning, we were near the pool - there was great choice in the restaurant menu. Taylor and all the staff were really friendly, and trying really hard. After what happened 5 years ago, Mallacoota and it's businesses deserve our support.

Nothing

We booked this for one night only but the rain was relentless and this resulted in a mudslide closing the only road in and out of Mallacoota . We were so impressed with the friendliness and the can do attitude of this place. Jenny, the manager who looked after us was exceptional and gave us priority as guests for the room which was only booked for one night but them extended it over 3 days. Can’t thank her enough . The customer service lesson needs to be learnt from her and the whole hotel team. Thank you Jenny, I promise we will be back in better circumstances as promised to you.

Not much there to dislike.

In regional Australia, I don't expect much. I originally assessed the property as good for a one-night stay. I would now stay two nights. I wouldn't stay longer as there are no kitchen facilities and I would prefer to cook when the offerings in town are average.

In U19, a window wouldn't open, lighting was inadequate (though reading lights were good) and the curtains let in a bit too much light.

Well equipped rooms, comfortable bed, great location. Friendly helpful reception. Good location in town , lovely swimming beaches within walking distance. Beautiful nature all around the town.

Some noise from vehicles parking, to be expected, and some music playing Saturday night which finished at a reasonable hour.

Breakfast was really nice, it was great for me on the go to take, the staff in the restaurant were sooo lovely and accommodating, the lady offered to put the football on for me in the main dining room as there were lots of loud people.I also probably had the best parma I've ever had.

Could hear the tv next door pretty loud, would be great to have signs in the rooms letting people know to keep in mind the neighbours and thin walls.
