The staff are of the friendliest encountered in ages, they all seem to love what they do and it shows. The Accommodation was amazing and the focus on privacy is also second to none. They clearly run a well-coordinated tight ship and function well as a team at Nkomazi. The game drives were amazing and Thandi made each drive a special experience, her energy and positivity coupled with friendliness made us feel so welcome, definitely one of the best rangers we have had in ages.

The only thing I can fault them on is dessert, all of the desserts were a bit bland. If I had to guess I would say they were made ahead of time and stored in a freezer and served before properly thawed. But the food was so good I didn't really have space for dessert anyway.

Nkomazi Private Game Reserve is a beautiful piece of property and the game drives were fantastic, despite it being freezing cold for both the PM and AM drives. Our guide was extremely knowledgeable and listened to what we were interested in and took time to answer all of our questions. We covered a huge amount of territory on the 2 game drives and saw cheetah cubs, the lion brothers, a brown hyena, a newborn blesbok, and our only eland. The luxury tents were super comfy and beautiful inside and out. We didn’t get to enjoy the outside options of private pool, deck, etc. due to only being there one night and it was very cold. Food was good! Must pay the conservation fee upon departure. We drove up to the lodge and were glad to have 4 x 4.

1. Staff was great 👍 friendly 2. Food was delicious, special thanks to the Chef who made time to come greet us. 3. Game drive with James was excellent, he really considered our comfort. We hardly felt the bumps, special thanks to him. 4. They catered for my elderly Mom and made arrangements to enable her to enjoy the game drive with us. 5. Spar ladies gave us a much needed moment of relaxation and we left the spar rejuvenated, I loved it. 6. The additional list of drinks added on the package were a good idea, compared to my previous stay.

1. Couches in the room need new cushions they were flat and uncomfortable. 2. Rag in front of the basin, had a folded corner and we tripped on it few times and we ended up moving it. 3. Shower floor is slippery especially for an elderly person, maybe they should consider putting a grip mat. 4. Parking area at the gate does not resemble the the 5 star resort that you find on the other side of the mountain, they should really work on improving it.

The whole experience was very good and exceeded our expectations. The game drives were fabulous. Derek, our ranger, was excellent. The food was good and all soft drinks, beer and wine were complimentary. The tents had everything that you would want. I could have stayed an extra day and remained in the tent!! Well done Nkomazi

The service in the restaurant could be a little sharper although it was still good and the staff were very friendly. They just got in a bit of a muddle on occasions.

This is an exceptionally well run property. From superb 'out of africa' style tents with all mod cons to private plunge pools, this offering excels in every way. Days begin at 5am with game drives. There is an abundance of upland and lowland game where 4 of the Big 5 are on 18k hectares of natural habitat. The search for the elusive Leopards is a daily pursuit and highlight. The guides are knowledgeable and patient to guest requests. The food is of the highest quality. We will return.

There is nothing to mark down.

The rooms look amazing. Exactly as on the picture. The only thing that didn't work is the aircons. It gets so cold in the evening, I would suggest you pack those small fan heaters. The food was amazing as well. Also do the picnic, it's worth it

The aircon don't work in the evening. And the maintenance manager ended up being rude and just stood us up one evening saying his coming to fix it. When we called back later he told us that he did mention that the aircons don't work in the evening.

Service and experience are incredible. The staff at the lodge is very friendly, food was outstanding and the morning and evening game drive are fantastic.

Very clean, excellent facilities, beautiful location, great staff, great food. Room was cleaned multiple times per day. Rooms were modern and beautiful. All buildings were up to standard to a 5 star safari lodge. Staff was very friendly and especially Sabelo made our stay into a success as a perfect guide. We saw all game from close by and he made sure we did not mis any of the game we wanted to see. Rest of the staff was also very helpful. They even organized to pick up our sunglasses which we had forgotten at the entrance gate. Excellent choice of foods for each course, large portions and multiple options to choose from for each meal.

Very private. Beautiful scenery. Amazing birding opportunities.

Unfortunately the other guests ruined the experience. Loud music at midnight woke us up from a next door tent. Staff did, however, attend immediately after we phoned reception to sort it out. There were also young kids allowed on game drives which spoiled the viewing with constant noise, banging and climbing around the vehicle on their part.
