Trullo Santangelo is one of the most special places we’ve ever stayed. From the moment we booked, Maria Luisa was always available and kind, helping us with every detail. The trulli itself looked like something out of a fairytale. Peaceful, surrounded by vineyards and olive trees, and full of charm. Breakfast under the trees was a daily highlight. Everything was fresh, homemade scrambled eggs, local products, great coffee. And the best part? Hugo and Kite, the two friendly dogs who kept us company every morning! We also did a wine tasting at the property. The wines come from their own label, Cantina Elia, and are truly top quality. Annalisa, who led the tasting, was a-m-a-z-i-n-g. Big thanks to Sergio, the man behind the wines, for his incredible work as well. This trip was a surprise I planned for my boyfriend’s birthday… but the biggest surprise came from him: he proposed here! Trullo Santangelo will always have a place in our hearts. P.S. Don’t miss the massage under the olive trees, the wine tasting and just taking in the calm and beauty of this place. We can’t wait to come back!

Excellent hostess, fantastic 5th generation working olive farm and vineyard where part of the property offers 6 rooms, three trulli and 3 regular rooms. Wonderful breakfast. Unbeatable location to base yourself with day trips to Alberobello, Martina Franca, Ostuni, Taranto, and Brindisi, or relax by the pool all day and have dinner in the charming town of Ceglie Messipicca and experience authentic community life around the Piazza while enjoying a gelato.

Trullo Santangelo is a truly charming place, designed to make guests feel right at home. The property and its amenities—including the outdoor kitchen—were absolutely ideal for us, especially while traveling with a 10-month-old baby. The occasional dinners hosted at the property are really tasty and of quality. Additionally, Maria Luisa’s availability and quick responses to our questions and requests were greatly appreciated. We will definitely stay at the Trullo again if we return to the area.

Maria and her family were extremely accommodating and helpful. Great communication. Our room was a new build and very nicely done with very modern Bathroom. The breakfast was ideal in the garden area. There is a common area for tea and coffee making. The pool area was very nice. A very friendly and professional family run property. A good base for a few days stay if you wish to relax and just do day drives within the region. We stayed only one night on our way from Matera to Lecce and it was great to see some traditional, country life.

Beautiful grounds, setting was spacious and quiet. A rural feel, a respite from the bigger cities. Breakfast was lovely, esp those cheesy scrambled eggs. Maria Luisa was a fantastic host and gave us recommendations for visiting coastal towns we’d not heard about. Five generations have worked this property and the family feel was real; we saw siblings come over with their little ones to celebrate a 3year olds birthday. So much joy. And their two dogs were friendly and helped us with missing our own dog. Maria Louisa made us a “to go” breakfast when we had to leave early the last morning. We recommend staying here and enjoying the laid back vibe which is Puglia. Ciao ciao to our new friends.

Trullo Santangelo was the perfect honeymoon destination for us. The picturesque setting, surrounded by nature and beauty, made it truly special. We adored the Trullo Arco; it was beautiful, clean, and wonderfully quiet. Maria Luisa was exceptionally friendly and kind, always eager to recommend activities and places to visit during the day. The breakfast was also delightful, offering a variety of delicious options. The location was ideal, although a car is necessary for getting around. We highly recommend this place and can't wait to return!

Everything was perfect

It is hidden gem with beautiful gardens. The olive trees, vineyards and other numerous flowering plants are all so well maintained. It is located a bit off the main road, and we found it hard to find on our first try. However, the owner went out of her way to locate us and had us follow her to it. The staff members were warm and welcoming. Breakfast is served in the outside garden. There is a "greenhouse" seating for inclement days. There is also a fully equipped outside kitchen area to help yourself to coffee or tea. The pool area had multiple lounging areas with umbrellas. It is a peaceful oasis and located near several other areas that are convenient to visit. The trulli itself is modern but is not spacious. However, there are so many seating areas on the property that we did not spend much time inside.

There is no TV in each unit. WIFI for us could not be used inside the Trulli which I can guess is due to the very thick walls. However, WiFi was usable outside on the grounds.

Beautifully decorated rooms/trulli in a quiet, peaceful setting. The rooms have high quality beds and pillows, so we slept very well. Everything you need is available: (pool)towels, soap, water and coffee, a personal fridge... If you like to cook dinner, there is a well equiped outdoor kitchen available under the patio. Take a walk in the beautiful garden, full of scented citrus trees and flowers. Tucked away under old olive trees, you'll find the large and refreshing swimming pool. For me, the furry friends (two dogs and cats) made the stay complete. If you're not an animal lover, don't worry. They are well behaved and they won't approach you if you don't want that. Maria Luisa and her lovely friend serve a delicious breakfast in the garden. They spoil you with freshly picked local fruit, pastries and bread from the market, excellent cheese and charcuterie, all locally produced. Their olive oil is a delicacy on it's own (you can buy it there if you want, and some locally produced wines as well). You can taste that the best secret ingredient is love :-). Unfortunately, we had a flat tire on the first day of our stay. Not very handy if you don't speak Italian well..But Maria Luisa and her team helped us immediately to get back on the road in a heartbeat. Also, she gave us great tips to explore the broad area of Puglia. Don't hesitate to book your stay here. You won't be dissapointed as this is the best an agriturismo stay can get. Ci vediamo! Grazie per tutti!

Absolutely nothing

I recently stayed a this Hotel for one night only and had a positive experience. The room was clean and well maintained and very spacious. I especially appreciated the kindness of the staff, who were very friendly and helpful and the great chef who cooked an excellent evening meal. The place is super chilled and magical, very relaxing and peaceful. Thank you.

We stayed in the Lamia for 3 nights with our two children. The property and its surroundings are stunning and so peaceful. We had a wonderful stay. We enjoyed the breakfast on the beautiful patio. The lady who served breakfast every morning was really charming and friendly. We enjoyed chatting with the other guests from time to time during our stay. Our kids really enjoyed the pool and the dogs Hugo and Kite and are already asking to go back. There are lots of toys and slide etc for toddlers and a gorgeous walk through the olive trees. It’s a very short drive to Ceglie Messapica which we adored. The roads leading to the property are narrow with beautiful stone walls. The whole area is very picturesque.

The one thing we missed was a clothes horse to hang our wet swimming clothes to dry. Just a small thing. Would also maybe have liked a kettle for the room but we were able to use the communal kitchen. Overall a highlight in beautiful Puglia.
