Loved our stay. It was so peaceful and relaxing and a beautiful place, miles away from noise and hassle. Lovely walks and cycle route right on the doorstep. The farmhouse has been beautifully renovated and the room we stayed in was full of character. Shaun and Elaine are lovely hosts, made us feel very welcome and we felt we were in the company of friends rather than hosts. They provided a great breakfast and we wish we could have stayed longer. We highly recommend Maison du Murphy and hope to return again soon.

We liked everything. If we have to complete this section of the review we say the bed could be moved slightly more centrally into the room to avoid stooping under the eves, but that is such a minor point!

Elaine and Shaun were the best Hosts we've ever stayed with - we had a long journey to get there and they offered us Tea and other refreshments on arrival - just super people and very welcoming to their beautiful home. The location is peaceful and rural in close proximity to Sourdeval and Veir with all the shopping and resturants.

I'm struggling to think of anything they could have added - we had everything we needed for our stay and the surroundings were lovely.

Lovely welcoming hosts, who also cooked us an amazing evening meal as well as offering a great breakfast. Pretty countryside surroundings and convenient for the voie verte.

If you are looking for the heart and variety of the Normandy countryside, you couldn't do better. At the juncture of three counties - La Manche, Calvados, and l'Orne -, Maison du Murphy is on the edge of the best horse country in France; is minutes from Vire with its medieval castle and fascinating renovated museum, an hour from Granville, the French corsaire city par excellence; an hour from Caen; and an hour from Mont Saint Michel. Elaine and Shaun are excellent hosts and very flexible.

The place was nice, with a peaceful and enjoyable garden. The host was very nice and helpful. Breakfast was great!

The hosts are fantastic and super friendly. We had a bike with a flat tire and couldn't continue our journey. They went out of their way to take us and the bikes to the nearest bike shop. The room is in a small two-story building next to the main house. You have a living/dining room, big bedroom and bathroom all to yourself. It's a remote location so it's very peaceful and quiet at night. Their dog is awesome too! I would definitely recommend staying at Maison du Murphy.
