Porto Tara was absolutely exceptional. It was a family reunion kind of trip and we loved so many things about the stay at Porto Tara. 1. Location, location, location. There is nothing around within like 2 miles, only the hotel and if you want to have a remote experience by the magic river and incredible forest - it’s your kind of place. All we needed is family company and we got that family time surrounded by this magic and unique nature. Because of the remote location we were even surprised how the fresh products were delivered every day! They go to Zablijak daily to get fresh products! Amazibg! 2. Hospitality. it felt like Bed and Breakfast. We had food off the menu because we wanted to taste a traditional Montenegrins food; everything was so fresh and amazing. The staff treated us like a family. we were surrounded my Amazibg care. 3. Quality - very clean hotel, and comfortable beds. it is an experience.

Radisav is a helpful, eloquent, educated and culturally interested person - thank you very much for the conversation. It's all part of the charm of this remote place in beautiful natural surroundings right on the Tara River. He makes the stay very pleasant. Getting there requires patience and driving skills (but what driver wouldn't want to claim that:-)), because the road is rocky (but by no means dangerous). Nevertheless, we made it in a VW Polo (without breaking an axle :-)). We recommend 1-2 nights because of the magical place - it's a place for those in need of peace and quiet - enjoy nature, rest and read

An incredible location and perfect place for adventurers to stay when exploring Durmitor National park. Possibly our favourite unique hotel stay ever. The staff are all really friendly and helpful. We really appreciated the packed lunch they provided on request, and special thanks to Radosav for booking our rafting tour. We loved it so much that we extended our stay for another night. This is a must visit for anyone looking for a special accommodation in the area!

The drive down may not be for everyone. Not a negative for us as we had a rental 4×4, but an off road vehicle is advised to drive down the last few kilometres as other reviews point out, we understand the road will be fully paved in the coming months!

The location is unique. It’s the only hotel in Montenegro allowed within a national park. The quiet, the river nearby. The forest & the mountains all around, are really very beautiful. The staff is helpful & attentive to the guests needs. Even the dust road leading to the hotel is very beautiful.

The hotel is way under staffed. 3 employees are not able to run the place. The hotel manager, Radosav, is also the cook, the receptionist & the bellboy. He is trying his best, but it shows. I truly don’t understand why the managing company was given such a gem of a place & still are doing such a lousy job running it. If they don’t change their attitude, I’m pretty sure the hotel will deteriorate .

We had a wonderful stay. The location is beautiful, peaceful, and truly unique. Radosav and the staff were warm and welcoming, and the food was great. We enjoyed two very relaxing nights

Reaching the hotel was challenging, as it involved driving about 7 km on dirt roads, requiring a 4x4. However, they informed us that an asphalt road will be built soon, which should improve access. Also, there are no hiking trails nearby, so it's mainly a place for relaxation.

This wasn't our first time at the Hotel Porto Tara. We regularly visit this hotel on our motorcycle tours, with its exceptional location. We want to share this setting with our companions. Only those who have been here before know how extraordinary it is, located on the Tara River, at the foot of the Tara Canyon. We would be happy to return anytime. MotoGS WorldTours Frank

It is placed in a very unic spot, the river is amazing, the views I can’t even talk about, it’s literally amazing.

The road to the Hotel it was a bit rough, you definitely need some experience behind the wheel and you can’t make it with a low rider car, and there was no ventilation in the bathroom which made it a bit difficult.

Porto Tara is located next to the Tara river, at the bottom of the Tara canyon. This is a true hidden gem in the middle of nature. If you want to secluded away from it all, then this is the place to be. Relaxation, swimming and hiking. The staff is friendly and serve local, simple but very tasteful dishes. You definitely need a 4x4 to reach this secluded place. There are plans to asfalt the roads, we already saw the foundations were present. Our car rental company did not have a 4x4, and the manager offered to drive us down and back up again…. All of this to make us welcome and enjoy our stay!!

The hotel is located right on the Tara river. It is isolated and surrounded by nature. Currently, as the road is not completely paved, driving to the hotel is challenging and may require 4X4. The hotel staff are welcoming , dinner and breakfast was good and the front desk was very kind and supportive
