I had a recently remodeled room and it was lovely. We had some challenges with cancelled flights onto the island due to weather, and Jillian was wonderful and really helped us. Thanks for a really nice stay.

Included hot breakfast was excellent and very fast. Dinner in both restaurants was good but a bit pricy in the main dining room. Staff is top notch and so friendly. Very well located to the harbor and shops with a view of Lews Castle. Small parking lot was handy as it was the same level as our room so no dragging luggage upstairs or fighting for street parking

Tub was a bit high and slippery. Has to ask for a rubber mat but got one immediately. Hair dryer is fixed to the wall at the desk but did not reach the mirror so pretty useless. Note- if you have a room in the back on the first floor you will be eye level with the parking lot. Not an issue for us but you’ll want to keep the blinds closed

A last minute stay due to cancelled ferry, but the staff were exceptionally helpful and kind (they even created a section of the restaurant for the dog to sit with us & we hear this might become a permanent policy, which is great news for those staying in the hotel with four-legged friends). We stayed in one of the newly renovated rooms, and although compact, it was spotless and done to a really nice standard. Will definitely be back again on our next visit!

We had a very nice stay for two nights at Royal Hotel! When calling the receptionist and telling that we would arrive late she arranged with the staff in the restaurant so they stayed overtime to serve a delicious meal. The restaurant served us very good cooked breakfasts as well as dinners. The housekeeper Bertie was very helpful taking care of our laundry. We had a nice room with good view over the harbour and castle Lewis. Göran and Andreas

The location and comfort; plus friendly helpful staff. Really good value. The view from the room was great the bed extremely comfortable and the bathroom spacious.

I am afraid the restaurant suffers from the 'hotel blight'. The food is over priced and over cooked. 2 courses with a small glass of wine cost £50 and had been so over-cooked as to be near tasteless. I strongly recommend the hotel and hope to return, but next time I will eat else where!

The room was very nice and we had a fab harbour view. The staff were all exceptionally friendly, welcoming and nothing was too much trouble. The breakfast was great and the service at all meal times was very good - even though we had a bit of an error with one of our evening meals, this was rectified very quickly and by no means spoilt our opinion of the hotel.

There is nothing about the hotel we did not like and would recommend to anyone visiting the area.

Very attentive staff. rooms and hotel nicely updated since last visit (as are the prices), excellent breakfast, cosy bar.

Rooms at the back are affected by noise from heating/ kitchen appliances til late at night and early in the morning. Sleeping is only possible with windows shut and even then is uncomfortably noisy. For this the room does not really provide restful sleeping and expensive at that. Shame as lovely room otherwise.

The location was great. The staff were amazing; nothing was too much trouble, especially Lisha in the restaurant. They welcomed our dog Ruby as if she were the star guest. The food in the restaurant in the evenings was excellent. However, breakfast could have been better. The room was adequate but didn’t match the price tag.

I loved the location within access to everything and that I could park the car behind the hotel. I attended a wedding and also enjoyed being at the Metagama Tattoo. Beautiful view of the Castle from hotel..

The only thing I found fault with was that my bed was rather high and it was on wheels, which I thought was unsafe.I didn't complain as my stay was only for 2 nights. Once I got into bed it was very comfortable and I slept very peacefully,and very refreshed in the morning.The room was spotlessly clean and the staff very friendly.

The bed was really comfy, and the room was quiet. The restaurant was very welcoming and cosy, it was nice to have a drink there after my meal. The food was really nice. The staff were very friendly and helpful.

the room was big enough for a double, rather than a single, bed.I felt that the bedroom was a bit tired decor-wise, and the bathroom could be modernised too.
