Just the kind of hotel I like, where everything is real, from the glasses in the bathroom to the roomkey to the superb freshly squeezed OJ at the excellent breakfast. It's not easy to find out what breakfast costs: only 10€. The restaurant is quite ok for dinner, the quality is variable from day to day. I had room 61 in the orangerie, probably the best room to have in the summer, because it's shaded on two sides and there appears to be no airconditioning. The room (see photo) is on the top floor in a kind of tower with windows on three sides, two viewing the green forest, one viewing the chateau. I did not hear a beep coming out of other rooms in six day's time, either. The salons one passes through on the way to breakfast are very impressive 250-year old grandeur. The whole place is situated in its own very green park with great lawns. The immediate surrounding is a modern appartment building neigbourhood, but you would never know from within this green oasis.
The wifi in my room was pretty much unusable and worse, my complaint was smilingly brushed aside. Also, some staff members appeared untrained, like the breakfast attendent lady one morning who did not know that café-au-lait comes with hot milk... But these are all minor nits to pick in an otherwise wonderful place.

We stayed for one night en route to Le Shuttle. Our room was in the Orangerie, and was good value for the price. There was plenty of car parking, which felt more secure than being in the town centre. The hotel decor provides the atmosphere of staying in a chateau and public rooms were not too big so had a cosy feel. We dined in the on site restaurant 109, which we highly recommend. We chose the set menu which was excellent value for the standard and quality of food. Staff in both the hotel and restaurant were efficient and welcoming. Breakfast was continental, again good quality and attentive service. I was happy to be able to buy a tin of Betises de Cambrai at reception before we left.
We deliberately picked an out of town centre location, so had to accept that we weren't going to walk for 30 minutes each way into town. On the plus side, that meant dinner at Restaurant 109!

Restaurant was lovely and the food delicious, quite a fine dinning experience, and good value. We booked a superior (mid grade) room and it was large and comfortable. My partner needed a lift and sadly the lift only went to the first floor - so there was a struggle up and down the remaining flight of stairs. The bed was BIG, and the linens seemed good. the location was quiet and the room large compared to the cheap chain hotels. We choose this as it was a short drive to the channel tunnel... and that worked well
Its a lovely building on the edge of the town in a housing/schools area, its a little faded, but the review warned of this. Have a low expectation and you will be thrilled to stay in a fabulous old building.

Breakfast was served in the main House on the ground floor in a beautifully decorated room and was very good. Dinner the previous evening had been in the restaurant situated underneath the hotel and was excellent. The grounds are extensive and seem to contain a wedding venue on one side which was set up for what looked to be a large wedding party. We stayed in the Orangery which was yet another large wedding venue. Our room was well appointed and very comfortable.

Beautiful chateau. Our room was in the Orangery - comfortable, quiet and elegant. The grounds are lovely and we enjoyed a nice walk having been in the car for several hours!! We enjoyed a leisurely breakfast overlooking the grounds. Coffee was served by a very pleasant gentleman. Breakfast was continental style with a good selection. The croissants were amazing!
We were disappointed the restaurant was closed, but did understand as it was Sunday evening.

The room I had in the Château was fine: spacious, perfectly comfortable and clean. Very quiet surroundings (no traffic in the vicinity). Wifi connection worked well everywhere I went. The personnel was generally warm and kind. Breakfast was also fine with good croissants, fresh fruit and cereals. The restaurant, in the cellars of the hotel, serves excellent food (above average: refined cuisine). Better to book in advance.
The entrance, lobby and the central staircase could be freshened up but this wasn't a big issue as far as I'm concerned. I was happy.

We were a bit disappointed to be actually staying at an annex, called l'Orangerie. The room was clean and furnished with some antique looking furniture. We could not eat at the restaurant, since it was already fully booked, but had a glass of wine in the lounge, which was absolutely beautifully restaurer and furnished. We also walked the grounds which had some very basic landscaping compared to former days.
We were disappointed about being lodged in the annex. Hence, it is not such a good value, because the property is close to a large industrial area with public housing. You are quite distant from downtown.

The room that we stayed in was beautifully furnished and the en suite bathroom looked as if it were newly installed. nice and clean. It was a pleasure to stay in such a historic building. Roses growing around the windows too ! The owners are kind, helpful and considerate. They also spoke good english - which is helpful as I only have a tiny bit of French.
There is nothing that I did not like, I don't know why it is necessary to complete the section entitled what did you not like. I liked the place and I liked the owners - that's about it.

I was a guest for the celebrations following the wedding of a friend. The programme was: champagne reception - dinner - DJ disco. On Sunday morning a buffet brunch. Presentation and catering was all first class. The staff had very thoughtfully set up a fan, already switched on when I got to my room which, facing the sun, was uncomfortably hot - something that only airconditioning could alleviate and is not present, in this case. However, by midnight, the room had cooled down somewhat and I had a good night's sleep.
The only aspect of the facilities I can at all criticise is the slippery bath. In retrospect I should have used a towel on the bath to make it less of a problem getting out after a shower without risk of slipping.

On arrival the receptionist was welcoming and helpful !We were told the restaurant was full so we ordered room service which was very good and extremely hot! It surprised us that we had to collect it from the reception area! However it was worth it. We loved the Chateau and we would stay here again!
The Chateau would benefit from having more direction signs so it could be found easier from the town!
