Cabins are a surprise. Modern and clean. Comfy bed. Friendly staff. Nice hot shower.
Location - sort of out the back…..feels a little isolated, especially turning up in the dark. Poor wifi. Maybe abit expensive. Paid $144 back at Napier for an amazing place…Pebble Beach Motel. And $140 further on the next night. But maybe it is the location and availability? No shampoo in the bathroom….had to wash hair with antibacterial hand soap:)

Location in a industrial area very deserted, The weather was bad so everything rattled from the scrapmetel place next door . Everything else good Ferry hotel no longer trading . The local siren went off 3 times, 5.30am had no idea what it meant , was scarey . Think information we googled explained it . But maybe more info for tourists would be helpful .

Great find in a small town with not many options to choose from. Lovely rural outlook from deck to the Wairoa River.
Did make a comment to lady on-site that a more visible sign of where the new units are located for first time visitors would be helpful. They're not immediately visible when entering through the guest car park of the hotel.

The unit was new, very clean and well set up.
The surroundings, the units are still surrounded by a building site and a very old hotel in front. I think some planting around them would help.I did have some concern about safety and whether my car would be broken into. But there were instructions in the unit about leaving lights on outside to discourage any problems

Had everything I needed. Great shower Comfortable Bed and good internet
Would have been great to get the check in email, earlier on the day of check in. I left my previous accommodation @ 11am Then I had a 4 hour drive. Only using Wi-Fi so I didn’t get the check in instructions.

It was brand new. It felt like we were the first to use it. We didn’t meet the staff. All conversation was remote via text. Tests were very friendly and responded were immediate
If I was being really picky as the place was immaculate there was no hair dryer or place to hang clothes. There was only one comfy chair so we watched TV on the bed. WiFi kept cutting out so we gave up watching TV as it kept buffering.

Exceptional rooms. Comfortable bed. Great comms from friendly hosts. Wairoa has really suffered following the weather events of 2023, The Ferry Hotel is a shining example of resilience and thinking outside the box. The result is some of the most impressive (and surprising) accommodation I have stayed at. The standalone units are beautiful, spacious and have all the modern conveniences.

A cabin not the Ferry Hotel which had been flooded a while ago. It was very comfy, very clean, well equipped and spacious, fabulous river view. Easy to contact manager who gave door code.
Nil - apart from not realising it wasn’t the flooded hotel we had paid for for a little while..

Convenience: A 2min drive across the bridge to a NWsupermarket, +shopping, an awesome bakery, petrol, laundrymat, atm etc.etc.
Instruction for WIFI connection provided but not working in my unit(3). No biggie to me, but others might have been disappointed.

Nice new cabin unit. Great pressure in the shower. Convenient for our one night stay.
Bed was too hard. Finding how to access the unit wasn’t so easy as no one on site. Found a phone number to ring on side entrance of old hotel and was then sent a txt with code to unlock key pad.
