2 mins from shop. Nice location. OK for a single night or two. Friendly helpful staff.
Building was too hot. No seating or place to get dressed in the showers. No table in the room. Nowhere to put your clothes.

I had a fantastic experience at this guesthouse and I highly recommend it. The staff are great! Friendly, professional, very helpful and they are always there to answer any questions you might have. The place is clean and warm, so you always feel comfortable there. The location is superb. Many of the tours/activities start straight outside of it, so it's very convenient indeed. And very importantly, you can see the Aurora just around the corner from it. Just walk down towards the lake and you can see this magical phenomenon. Abisko truly is the best place in the world to see the Aurora, and this guesthouse is right in the middle of it. Thank you for the amazing time and for all your hard work!

Friendly staff, quiet room, privacy. A big part of the positive experience was that we were the only guests on our floor. If we had to share the bathroom and kitchen with 6 other people, it probably would have been very crowded.
Room was a bit small for 3 people. Shower door fell off the rails and wouldn't stay on track. Refrigerator is in the shared hallway, not the kitchen. Shared dining room was a bit chilly with no controls for heat. All rooms have doors, so moving between the kitchen, shared hallway, and dining room always required a free hand to open them. Fire alarm went off a few times (probably from people upstairs). There was a pungent smell in the shared hallway, as if there were a dead mouse inside the walls or ceiling. Staff said they would check it out, but it never went away over the 5 nights we stayed there.

The hostel was nice and clean. With two fully equipped kitchens and one nice kind of living room and dining room. Plenty of showers and toilets spread all around the floor. We never had to wait to access any so super nice. We had two 3-person rooms, quite small if you have big luggages but nothing impossible. The reception has souvenirs that you can buy as well as soft drinks and equipment for the snow (if I understood correctly, it costs more or less 15€ for all your stay no matter how long you’re staying). Activities can be booked through iPad’s inside of the hostel itself (as well as at the reception if you really need them). The situation is nice as well, 5’ walking from the train station, 10’ walking from the lake, 2’ walking from the supermarket that honestly is super affordable and offers a very large variety of products. Overall it was a nice stay for a few nights watching the auroras with friends.
I don’t really have anything bad to say

Location: Closest to Abisko Ostra train station (3 mins walk) and the only supermarket Godisfabriken Abisko (2 mins walk). It is true that Northern Lights can be seen just outside the apartment. Personnel: All are helpful, friendly and knowledgeable (especially the lovely lady at the reception and the owners). Reception: It was a fuss-free area with seating area and free delicious biscuits. There is also a souvenir shop selling attractive memorabilia (as well as postcard and postage stamps). The price is much cheaper compared to Stockholm, remember to grab some if you plan to bring home. Check-in: Fast. Although there was some dispute about the unit, the issue was solved quickly and left us all happy and satisified. What I like is that the internal conversation between the guesthouse staff was in English instead of Swedish so it was transparent and clear. The apartment: Very clean, nice, cosy and spacious. There were enough heaters to keep us warm during winter time. There is no daily housekeeping but the trash can is cleared everyday and the toilet paper is refilled before it runs out. The kitchen: Well-equipped and adequate for self-catering as there is no restaurant in Abisko village. Abundant kitchen roll for your usage. Activities: They are all good and interesting. Must join a few to make your stay at Abisko more worthwhile. They know best where to see the best aurora. Special thanks to Alex for bringing us out to the open-air carpark for a spectacular aurora show on 23/12 night (after the Sami BBQ dinner). Thank you Abisko Guesthouse for the hospitality and good memories.
- It’d be good if there is a transfer service to train stations (when the guests travel heavily). :) - A bath mat will be appreciated.

My husband and I stayed here with our 11-year-old. The bus stop and the train station are a stone's throw away. Our apartment had an amazing view, we could see Lake Torneträsk from right there. We shared the living room, the kitchenette and the toilet with one other couple staying in the room next door. We were able to use the shared facilities without any issues. The kitchen is well-stocked with utensils for some light cooking. The grocery store is right next door. The room is clean and the beds are super comfortable. Check in and check out were easy and the ginger biscuits at the reception are a lovely touch. You can easily walk the 2km down to the Turiststation from the Guesthouse, the path is well-marked and lit at night. We walked down to the lake - about 10 minutes - the first night, and the aurora appeared! So exciting. It was freezing cold though, especially with the wind unobstructed over the lake. The guesthouse booked us on an aurora tour the second night we were there, and Jacob from Experience Abisko drove us down E10 to a dark spot where the lights put on another show.
We wanted to do the Sami-inspired barbecue, but we were too late - make sure you book your activities at least a day in advance!

We traveled to Abisko for winter activities and to see the northern lights. The Abisko Guesthouse was well positioned for this and offered many guided activities. It was a short walk from the hotel to a small grocery store, and a short walk up the hill to a nice restaurant at another hotel facility. The apartment itself met our needs with a small kitchenette and pots/pans/utensils for meals. The living room had a nice view over the lake and it was a pleasant walk to the shore. Everything was in working order and the wifi was good.
This is a minor point since we didn't go to Abisko to watch television, but we weren't able to get any channels on the room TV (or use apps other than YouTube, which only worked intermittently). Not a big issue.

Wonderful views, close to the train station, with a tourist agency in the reception. Despite having shared bathrooms, it offers MANY bathrooms, toilets and two good kitchens - and they were always impeccably CLEAN - which is very difficult in shared spaces. The TEMPERATURE inside the building was always really nice, despite being -8C outside. We stayed in a room with no windows and we were concerned about it. However, it turned out to be even better, as we could sleep well on the dark when it was a snow storm outside in one morning, and it was quieter - which is good, as many tourists arrive at the hotel very late in the night, after chasing the Aurora. For a city with few options, this is definitely a great one!
The mattresses and pillows are not the most comfortable ones but they are decent enough for a good sleep.

A really good hostel with a pretty decent location (considering how small the town of absiko is). Near to the train station as well as lake beside. Staff is helpful and always willing to help ans advise on activities, food and more.
Would have been nice if a staff actually told a bit more on the facility when checking in regarding where things are and how things may function different, since the alternative was to roam around the hostel and ask the people who were previously staying to figure things out.

Short walk from the train station, also close to the grocery store (or rather, the sweet shop with a grocery store attached - visit and you will understand that comment!). 10-15mins walk up to the open hillsfor walking or cross country skiing. Good to have a shared kitchen and dining lounge to prepare and eat own food as there are not many options for eating out in tne area. Also a good way to meet other travellers. Preferred staying here to the turiststation, not surrounded by so many people... Good to be able to store luggage before check in and after check out. I didnt do any tours but feedback from others was good. In short, would stay again.
No problems. The shared bathroom has both toilet and shower - I always prefer them separate to avoid loo-queue but not always easy to arrange. Room was fine for 1 person and had a great view to the North but would be a bit cramped for 2 or 3.
