The guesthouse is located in a quiet area with a nice garden and outside area to relax. The best however was the owner. She gave us great tips and helped us organize our further trip. She owns another guesthouse in Tangkahan where we went on a jungle trip to see the Orang Utan. She made us a good and absolutely fair deal to get there, stay there, do the jungle tour and get back to Medan. We had the time of our life there.

Very friendly, nice & helpful host. They pick up from the AirPort, it is possible to order dinner even if Your flight is late or take it away for long trip to the jungle. Room is clean and comfortable, hot water in the shower, cosy area far from city traffic. Great place to stopover and rest. Nice terrace with a lot of green plants, orchidea flowers, where You can eat a breakfast - it’s delicious and big. If You like hosts can organize a trip or Transportation for You by privite car or share Taxi. I strongly recommend!

This guesthouse was our very first stop in Indonesia on our way to Bukit Lawang – and we couldn’t have wished for a better welcome. The place is surrounded by lush greenery, has a peaceful and friendly vibe, and the owners are truly wonderful. They kindly picked us up from the airport late at night and even waited patiently after our flight was delayed. The food was absolutely delicious, they have a great natural mosquito repellent you can buy, our room has AC and their sweet dogs stole our hearts from the first moment. A beautiful place with beautiful people – thank you for making us feel welcome right away!

We stayed there only for a short night, but still had great experience. It's located on the outskirts of Medan. There's a nice garden, so you don't have a feeling you're in a big city, and also tasty food in their restaurant. The owner is easy to communicate with. The room is comfortable and clean, with good airconditioning. Wifi works well. We left early in the morning, so we couldn't get the proper breakfast, but we still got a delicious fruit salad to-go.

Lots of mosquitos in the garden (also no mosquito net in the room, but I think the air conditioning puts them away anyways). The location is maybe a bit far from the attractions if you want to explore Medan.

Really lovely, chilled guest house with lots of plants and wooden tables in the attractive dining areas. It's set between two separate buildings but both are equally nice and similar in style. The staff are so sweet, friendly and helpful. Rama speaks excellent English and will help you with your plans if, like me, you have failed to make any! Meals are simple but tasty and everything is good value. There's hot water too, not that you need it.

The only drawback is the location. It's not too far by car from public transport links but there's nothing much to do or see in the immediate area, and while it's peaceful, it's not an especially attractive neighbourhood, and not walking distance into town. It would be necessary to get a car/taxi to go anywhere. Or just hang out and enjoy the ambience of the guest house and catch up on your reading; There are a LOT of mosquitoes (they sell repellent. You will need it!)

It's just great to arrive here after a long flight. A very, very helpful staff will help you with all your questions. After leaving my card in the ATM, they took me to the city, waited for over an hour with me, then took me to another bank. I took up the entire morning of two people and their car due to my stupidity and just a tip was sufficient. It just feels so good to be helped like that. You just don't get that where I'm from. A clean and calm place to escape the busyness of Medan and I can recommend Bua to be your starting and exit point to beautiful Sumatra.

Very friendly people, nice little rooms with good showers and toilets. Breakfast options were tasty and there is a basic restaurant across the road. This is a great place for families all the way to backpackers who are after a good little local place to park yourselves while in Medan. We used it stop over for one night either side of heading into the jungle from the airport and it was perfect for this. They also will pick you up and drop you off from the airport for pretty much the same price as a standard taxi so this is a good option.

There is nothing bad to say about this place. The only thing you should note is that is in the suburbs. You can walk 10mins to get to some small shops, but there is not a lot here for tourists. You will need a car/bike to get from to and from this hotel and anywhere else a tourist might want to go. A good tip we got was also to get the app "Grab" which is like Uber/Uber Eats to give you a way to get a taxi and also some food delivered to the hotel if you want something more than what the little restaurant across the road offers.

I stayed at Bua Guest House twice – once before and once after my jungle trekking in Bukit Lawang – and both times were great. Everyone at the guesthouse was very kind and helpful. I had contacted Rama in advance, and she arranged an airport transfer for me and helped me get a local SIM card, which was especially helpful as I arrived late in the evening. The food was delicious, and the overall atmosphere very welcoming. They also offer tours to places like Bukit Lawang and Lake Toba, which could be convenient for other travelers. Highly recommended!

The owners Rhama and Ridho are the most lovely ever, and their employees as well, you have the feeling to be at home! Their knowledge about their country is amazing, they will help you to guide you to organise your trip. The guest house is incredibly clean, functional and confortable. The garden is nice and relaxing and there is even a swimming-pool in the same block. Perfect place to start your trip in Sumatra coming from the airport! And very good typical food. Highly recommended!

This guesthouse is perfect for a stay in Medan outside of the crowded city of Medan. The house itself is beautiful with a lot of plants, definetly made with a lot of love. The room is clean and very comfortable. It has everything what you need. Rama and the whole staff is very friendly and help you with everything. The breakfast was very delicious as well as the dinner. We also used the airport Shuttle, which was very easy to use and Book. Thank you for the recommendations and for the wonderful stay
