Give yourself a gift and the most amazing experience of your life by staying at Sands Dream Tourism Camp. I can’t stress how wonderful everything was. Upon arrival, the exceptional driver Mohamed came to pick us up and drove us to the camp. Our triple room was so cozy we couldn’t believe our eyes. The temperature during the night was also perfect: while outside there were 10 degrees Celsius, inside we slept with short sleeves! The tents release all the warmth accumulated throughout the day during the night, so don’t be scared you will be cold: you won’t at all. The bathroom was also equipped with everything needed and even had a shower. The dune tour at sunset was unforgettable. Mohamed is truly exceptional. We had time to climb, run, take pics and enjoy the marvellous surroundings of the Wahiba desert. The best part is yet to come: dinner was one of the best ones I have had in my entire life. The quality of the food was insane, the taste was authentic, the quantity was enough to feed at least 5 people. We were lucky enough to have the whole dining tent to ourselves. A truly magical experience. Trust me, I would have paid the entire price of the stay just for dinner. This is how much it is worth. The following morning my boyfriend and I climbed the dunes ourselves to see the sunrise. Even though the climb was harder than expected, the view was worth it all. Moreover, every single staff member is among the kindest people I have ever met and they will surely accommodate every request of yours. Breakfast, again, went beyond expectations. The most magical experience of my life.

Absolutely nothing.

We had a huge, confortable tent with an outdoor private bathroom. The night we stayed there, there was only one other couple, making for a very quiet and peaceful stay. The staff lit a fire for us in the evening. Buffet dinner and breakfast were good. We arrived with our own 4WD, the place was very easy to find and reach. If you walk from the camp, you can reach some nice dunes for sunset and with the right perspective it might even look like there are no other camps around!!

There are many other camps around. You don't really see them from the camp, but you know they are there. But that is standard at Wahiba Sands, you can still get the illusion of being alone

The camp met our expectations and overall we enjoyed our stay here. The food - especially the dinner - was excellent given the limitations a desert camp must have for preparing meals. The pre-departure communication with the organizer was outstanding. The facilities are simple but adequate - and well-maintained. It's a rustic camp but quite comfortable, and suitable for a more authentic experience. If you're into glamping, this camp may not be for you. Fantastic starry sky late at night and in the early hours of the morning.

There are two bigger desert camps not too far away which means there is a lot of traffic around on weekends. Also, dune-bashers from the neighboring towns come out for the day or evening. So don't expect to have the dunes all to yourself. But the business of it all does have an attraction of its own - there is a buzz with lots going on. The camp is quite expensive although I acknowledge that there must be a lot of overheads for a place like this that is located far away from basic facilities.

The traditional tents offer a unique experience of sleeping (almost) outside in the desert. The camp is located as the last camp in a sort of valley, in the middle of the desert with nothing but sand dunes around. The tents are quite large and have normal beds inside. The offered buffet was delicious and one of the best on our trip through Oman. A pick-up (4wd required to reach the location) can easily be arranged after booking and includes dune bashing and a sunset tour.

The pickup service is with 30 OMR per car quite expensive. The mattresses were very hard. The private bathroom is located in a smaller tent next to the bigger tent and not the most luxurious; but everything worked fine and was clean.

We had the best time from when we were picked up with the transfer to watching the most beautiful sunset and arriving at our camp site. The staff were very welcoming, friendly and accommodating. The room was spacious, cozy and the bathroom facilities were great with a flushable toilet and warm water shower. We were particually inpressed with the lovely dinner and breakfast that was included. My friend is vegan and there was lots of options for her and I to choose from at the buffet. Would definately recommend Sands Dream.

I really enjoyed my night in this desert camp. Everything was perfect: the staff very friendly and caring, the food was amazing, the tents are well appointed and, the camp is near to beautiful dunes so you can easily go for a nice walk through the desert. The wood fire after the diner with beautiful people was also amazing. They propose plenty of activities so you’ll not get bored. I recommend it 100% if you’re looking for an Omani night in the desert!

If you like to experience a night in a tent, this camp is for you. Location is perfect where you can go on foot early morning over the dunes and watch the sunrise. Staff really nice and helpful and dinner and breakfast more than what you expect for a tent experience

The bathroom obviously are outside the tent and for primitive use, so do not expect to do a long relaxing shower but that is the fun of it when choosing a tent camp

- Best access to dunes from camps in area, you need only 15-20 minutes on foot to reach highest dune - Great food for being in middle of desert - easy to reach if you have 4x4 . Basically any 4wd will do , it is approx. 30 minutes drive from village, We had dacia duster and had no problems. Most of the road is hard gravel road with occasional patches of sand. Only more difficult part is final small dune before the camp ( ~ 250 m from camp ) . But i am sure that somebody from camp would help you if you had problems at this point. - there is a petrol station on main road some 500 m behind intersection with camp gravel road where you can deflate your tires.

- we had similar experience in morocco desert with Berbers and that one felt more "authentic" . But there was nothing really to complain about in this camp except maybe quite pricey activities they offer.

The staff is really friendly and everything is very quite and calm. We stayed two nights and I really enjoyed sleeping in the nice tent and looking and the star at night. The food was very good and they made different stuff for us who stayed more nights and helped us with vegetarian options. For those who said there are mice.. It is nature! We are in their home and you should appreciate them. There are desert mice, a very clean and intelligent animal. I appreciate the staff protects them. So please continue to respect wildlife! It seems to me that the camels are also well treated. We went to visit a beduin house, it was a beautiful experience and they welcomed us in their home with delicious sweet food.

We would have appreciated more cold water (was quite warm) and some other soft drinks. I would suggest to have some board game or similar for the guest to play during the waiting time! But apart that we liked everything.

Accommodation was great and authentic. Tents are very big and have electricity. Food was very delicious and the whole team was extremely friendly. On the second day we were the only guests there and they served a big breakfast and dinner just for the two of us. The view was amazing as well. In the evening the team makes fire and you can watch the sky full of stars. We stayed in December and we saw a lot of shooting stars. We booked the transfer to the dessert for 30 OMR, but there was also dune bashing and sunset tour included. I can highly recommend this tour! If you are looking for a luxury hotel in the dessert, you are wrong here. If you are looking for an authentic desert experience, book this camp! Best experience in Oman for us!
