- Best beds we had while travelling Indonesia. - Very nice cafe and breakfast - Wonderful swimming pool - Staff is incredibly kind.

- Live music was too loud and too late for us. We came back from Bromo and were looking for an early night, but that was not possible. - We were very early. When we arrived the desk staff assured us he would ask the cleaners to clean our room first, but we ended up only being able to check in at normal check in-time (which is understandable, but we thought after the comments we would be able to check in a bit earlier).

Arrival, easy acces. Entrance looks professional, roomy yet comfy and neat. Pool is clean with shower part. Restaurant is good and clean. The staff in the restaurant especially were very friendly and always ready to help. They seemed to really do their best to make the guests feel comfortable and keep everything neat and clean. Good wifi connection and no hassle, no need of password using or anything.

During booking there was an inconvenience with payment. It was easier for the hotel to deal straightway with the credit card, but somehow this was not the case. We made the booking through booking.com, normally everything goes automatically. But this time we kept getting email and messages through whatsapp from the hotel about payment to confirm and fix the booking. So confusing, so we were afraid it was some scam. But luckily it was legitimate something.

Facilities were all perfect. Restaurant and breakfast served were all great. Swimming pool good size for kids and adult. Hotel exterior design love it. Room interior not too old but not the latest design. But still good enough.

The reservation procedures really annoyed me. The reservation team sent me two notice from booking.com messages and Whatsapp saying "if I do not check in by 2pm, the reservation will be released as I have not put any booking guarantee from booking.com". I understood it was weekend, and hotels in malang usually were all fully booked. But that was the option offered by booking.com, if your hotel did not support booking.com procedures allowing customer to pay during check in, don't work with booking.com. It truly annoyed me because I am traveling with kids. If it suddenly release my reservation, I would have been so mad.

Love the property especially when the sun sets in. Elegant atmosphere filled with warmth & luxurious touch. Excellent service. Great amenities. Rooms though dated which can be improved, it is very cosy, clean & spacious. Love the balcony. Excellent food served. Child friendly.

The key card - dated. The metal divider at the swimming pool between the kids pool & adult pool - requires repair. The screw is loose & shaky. The glue is no longer glued to the tiles - dangerous.

Great place when you need to be picked up for the Bromo trip. They prepared breakfast boxes which was really convenient. Also a short taxi ride to the city center. The previous reviews are correct about the slightly older bathroom, however it’s about expectations and value for money. So for us it was fine because it was clean. Prices are not too high for the room. Swimming pool was convenient and the massage at wellness was awesome.

Very hygienic, good breakfast and lovely people. We enjoyed every minute of our stay 😍 we laughed waaaay too loud because our new friend in bed. Thanks to housekeeping, who was more than excellent by the way! Also Malang is a nice city to wander around for a bit!

The bathroom was a bit outdated and we had to hold the shower ourselves because the hose was too short. But if this was the only remark, count your blessings :)

General quality presentation of the rooms and reception areas. The staff were very prompt and helpful.

Nearby mosque early morning made sleeping difficult. Better sound insulation is needed. We were warned to leave for the train station early because of the local traffic jams. So departing an hour and a half early we arrived at the station within 10 minutes, clearly having beaten the traffic successfully caught the train.

Santika is a no nonsense hotel. Its not the newest facility but it has a good price quality ratio. The pool area is rather nice. Breakfast is excellent and the dinner buffet served by the pool is brilliant. Staff are very helpful with all Bromo travel plans. We organised everything the day before and the hotel made it happen with no fuss.

Just to be a bit fussy bathrooms could already be renovated. In any case rooms are huge so all and all just a detail, nothing that would put me off staying there again.

Santika Malang was perfect for the purpose of our trip. The location is close to everything (it was a great location to leave from for the purpose of our Bromo tour). The rooms were clean and comfortable. Our family loved the pool. Breakfast had a good selection of Indonesian and Continental options. Our highlight of the stay was the staff, who were always understanding and accommodating and who went above and beyond to improve our experience. Thank you so much to the concierge team, the reception team (thanks Mas Iwan for your Malang food recommendations and mba Dessy for all your help with our room) as well as room service and restaurant team (thank you Pak Ian for your help).

The gym equipment and facilities could be improved.

Overall nice hotel - comfortable and clean room, friendly staff. Breakfast was excellent. They provided takeaway breakfast boxes for the days we were doing early tours

Had lunch at the restaurant one day which was below average. Laundry service was expensive. Location wise it is a little out of the way from the main part of town but easily reachable by grab
