La Locanda Delle Donne Monache was a pure delight. We had the most amazing room with an outside area which really suited us as we didn't want to use the pool area. One of the real strengths of the hotel was the staff who were always friendly and helpful. The bar and restaurant staff were amazing and over the period of a week we got to know them well. The room maid was also wonderful. I had a problem with getting medication that I had run out of and the reception staff were more than helpful in enabling me to get the right medication by initially telling us where to go in Maratea and then making a phone call to a hospital pharmacy 30kms away. Amazing. Thank you.

It would be hard to find fault with this delightful place with amazing views. Just one thing though which would be more information about the times of the bar opening hours and the time of lunch.

Location was fantastic, gorgeous views, quick walk into lovely historic center, and wonderful/helpful staff. The breakfast area and pool were first class, both food and view!

Would have been good to have a heads up on where the parking was located - only a short walk from hotel, but located below hotel and with a late night arrival we missed it - the usual tight, winding roads made getting back to the parking lot a bit of an adventure. Great there is parking - just a heads up on how to access it directly would have been helpfu.

Everything about La Locanda Delle Donne Monache was exactly what we were hoping for. Amazing views from our comfortable, clean and beautiful suite to the pool setting, accommodating staff and central location. Hotel has its own parking lot a short stroll away, and porter can bring car for luggage collection. Excellent recommendations for surrounding restaurants and hikes etc. Can walk straight up to Christ the Redeemer statue from hotel.

The property is beautiful and has a stunning location. The pool is wonderful overlooking Maratea and the Christ statue on top of the hill. Breakfast had a nice variety.

Even considering the high rating, we likely wouldn’t return because the bed was TERRIBLE. Truly the most uncomfortable bed and lumpy pillows I have ever slept in in my life. For a 4-star property the mattress and pillows are actually unacceptable. I woke up after the first night with a terrible pain in my neck that bothered me for days. Change the mattresses and pillows.

Very nice hotel very well located closed to historic center of Maratea. There is a nice view on the village and the terrace where we take the breakfast with the piscine is fantastic. The breakfast was good. The private hotel parking is very closed to the hotel.

The two things to improve are the bed which is too much hard and the shower which is small when the bathroom is big and there is enough place to have an italian shower.

My husband and I got a free room upgrade to the room with the spa tub built into the rock, and it was an amazing room! The staff were fabulous, very friendly and helpful. The breakfast was tasty with a lot of different options to choose from.

The pool was very cold. There would be four or five couples soaking up the sun on lounge chairs around the pool, but the water was so cold that no one wanted to get in. The weather was very hot, high 80's, and still we didn't want to get into the frigid water. We had thought there was a hot tub connected to the pool, and there is; however, it is a cold jacuzzi tub, not a hot tub. Regardless, we loved our stay here and wouldn't want to stay anywhere else in Maratea.

Great location overlooking the Mare Tirreno with its secluded beaches. Amalfi without the crowds. The property itself was well appointed, clean with a beautiful pool overlooking the village. We had a large suite with private terrace overlooking the village. Breakfast was excellent & the staff helpful, courteous & professional giving excellent advice on restaurants, beaches & things to do in the area.

There was nothing not to like, it is an excellent stay.

Breakfast staff need to be more proactive and trained . They did not even ask if you wanted coffee tea etc . You had to search them out. Only realised you could have an omelette on the last day as there was no menu and staff had not told us.

This is truly the most beautiful hotel we have stayed in ever. It has so much character, the furniture, the art work, all add to the charm of this unique building which used to be a monastery. the views over Maratea are spectacular. The owners and staff could not have been nicer or more helpful. Our rooms were very comfortable, very clean, and we had a lovely balcony. The restaurant is perfect. The area beside pool and hot tub so pretty perfect for relaxing. 10/10 all the way for this place.

There was nothing I didn’t like about this property. The owners have restored it to perfection, it has old style charm with everything you need to hand. Stunning, stunning, stunning!!

This is a fantastic hotel with history, charm and a worldwide outlook in its beautiful interior design, Africa, Asia, the Middle East and even a Scandinavian corner. The view from the pool area is stunning and equally so the sound of the bells ringing in the small towns’ many churches.. Welcoming hosts, good breakfast, high service.. We had a nice room with balcony facing the town.
