For me, Hotel Svartisen really exceeded my expectations: my room was clean, quiet, and surprisingly large! Parking was very easy right behind the hotel, the loft bed felt very cosy, and I liked the bathroom with its nicely heated floor. While the hotel did not offer breakfast, there is a large shopping centre and grocery store within walking distance, and on either side of the block are restaurants if one prefers to eat out. My room included a small kitchenette, so home-cooked meals are also an option for the budget-conscious.

The ladder going up to the loft bed was quite steep, and may not be easily accessible for everyone. The central ventilation system was very loud, but luckily shut off in the evening. The curtains were too short to close fully, which invited both light in, as well as views from anyone passing by.

Essentials are there: A/C, fridge, and stove. Dishes and cutlery for one, bed for one in the upstairs of the room. I slept very well with earplugs. I especially recommend room 109, which is a bit separate from others. Nearby, there are several shops and groceries as well as the railway station. I recommend the shoreline nearby for a walk.

A bit noisy corridor and access to backyard parking, but I did not care. Curtains were a bit too narrow to make the room private and dark.

The hotel is good value for money. The accommodations are very simple yet very clean and well maintained even in age. If you're looking for low budget but a clean and good place to stay, this is the place!

The double bed was made up of two singles that slid apart easily. Made for an awkward sleep.

Nice big room with fridge, sink, and everything you need to make breakfast in your room. Beds were comfortable enough, tv in the room and decent bathroom.

Shower wall was a bit broken, but nothing major. Could hear the cars on the road outside, which was ok, but you could hear everything going on in the hallway. Which is a bit annoying when travelling with a dog.

No breakfast included. The location close to the train station, and the price of the room, were both great. The room was clean and the beds were comfortable.

The room was right on a main street of the town, and a bit noisy when motorcycles zoomed by 10 feet away. But the ability to quickly walk to the hotel from the train station outweighed the minor nuisance of a few noisy motorcycles.

The hotel is very near to the train station, my room was equipped with a small kitchen perfectly working, and the temperature during winter was perfect. Also, communication was easy, fast, and very kind. Highly recommended!

Very good value for money, our room was perfect for a couple: twin beds, bathroom, even a kitchenette. The location is also good.

The parking spots behind the hotel could've been marked a bit more clearly.

In short words. The price was just too good for the offered services. Friendly staff and quiet room. The best you can get if you need to lay overnight.

Can't say since there was anything unpleasant since I've booked very late in the night and they have offered me their best.

Big space, clean, nice to have room on first floor when you have a dog.

Bed wasn't very soft, but if you like a hard mattress it's OK. Also being dog friendly and having steep stairs to sleeping area wasn't really ideal.

No privacy from main window - really needs some net curtains or frosted glass, especially on ground floor
