Absolutely loved my one night stay! Seriously, can't beat the location. Right on the river, within easy walking distance of the Gifu castle park & ropeway to the castle, the Gifu Daibutsu, the Kawaramachi area. By Japan standards, my room was plenty spacious, with a view of the river to the left, the castle on the hill to the right. The onsen style public bath was a real treat. I mean, a roten-buro, outdoor bath overlooking the river? Superb! The "Viking" all-you-can-eat buffet breakfast was also wonderful! I didn't expect such variety. All staff were friendly and helpful. I've been in Japan for ages, and do fine in Japanese, but English was provided, and sufficient, so non Japanese speakers should be OK.

There isn't anything that I didn't like. I'll be back!

This is an excellent hotel with a wonderful Onsen in the top floor that overlooks the city and the castle. The rooms are typically Japanese and the facilities are wonderful. We had a room facing the river and the view was amazing. The breakfast was a buffet with lots of Japanese food options and some Western options but it is honestly a great opportunity to try some of the freshly cooked Japanese dishes.

The hotel is not at walking distance from Gifu train station, but the buses work on a loop so you can always get to the hotel in about 15 minutes and the main attractions are certainly within walking distance.

The onsen is just awesome open from 5am till midnight. They have a lot of amenities even socks and a yukata to use during your stays. The staff was helpful and professional, the breakfast buffet was huge with Western and Japanese food. The hotel has a big smoking common room. We had an awesome view of the park and the river from a giant window in the room (the room was really big), we enjoyed waking up to this.

The facilities are a bit old but still comfortable, so it was ok

Historical hotel next to the river with a nice onsen. They also have a nice outdoor onsen that has a view of Gifu Castle! My daughter and I also reserved the hot stone sauna which was super nice. Totally recommend reserving that and you get a huge discount if you order dinner at the hotel. Dinner was in a private room and the rooms were spacious overlooking the river.

The hotel is a bit dated but I didn't mind. I thought it added to the whole historical feel of the hotel.

Everything! This is the best option in town for sure. Location 10, room 10, breakfast 10, attention at the frontdesk 10. We had a wonderful stay, the views from the room were spectacular and the room is traditional styled. They even set up the futons for us which was unexpected. Outdoors onsen views at night were wonderful. You can also book the boat tour for the cormoran fishing through at the reception, that was easy and helpful.

I loved everything

The staff at Hotel Park are exceptional. During our stay, they contacted restaurants for us, called taxis, and helped us source items we wanted to purchase for our friend's restaurant in Thailand. When our travel plans were interrupted by rain, the staff offered to let us keep our motorcycles in their parking lot while we rented a car to continue our trip. Truly, they made our trip memorable.

Amazing service, additional services like massages and bedrock baths available for a fair price, the room was clean, big and nice, with a nice view of the lake. The location was great, and outside a nice garden ciuld be enjoyed. The breakfast was diverse and tasty, and being a person with dietary restrictions, accommodations for my needs were made, without any trouble.

The only problem was that as a foreigner, checking into a japanese Ryoukan for the first time, I was a bit confusing as to the coredct behaviour and manner that was expected. An English explenation regarding how to use the onsen, when and how it is appropriate to wear the yukata and so on would have been great. However, the staff was so kind as to hwlp and explain, and the atm

Excellent location, right in front of Nagara- River. You can watch the Ukai boat from your room. Walking distance to the castle and Kinka Mountain. You can see the Gifu Castle from the rooftop bath. Lovely Onsen too. The staff are all attentive and friendly.
