The house was neat and tidy, as everyone is aware this is a very cold town in winter. The extra mile the owners had the lady that works for them go to get the house warm for us, from switching on the heaters, the sherry in each of our rooms.. We appreciated it. Definitely a place we can recommend for accommodation when visiting this town. The Blue Moon restaurant where we had breakfast and supper, 10/10 for the food, highly recommend 🙌

I liked the elegant furnishings and decor and everything I needed and more was present. The staff was very accommodating and helpful. I was comfortable and warm!

The gas heated geyser I found to be a real challenge. I was advised it is old and needed a service. A warm bath after a chilly day in Sutherland is essential though.

The write-up states private bathrooms, but only one room has a private bathroom. The other 3 rooms have to share two bathrooms. Luckily, we were the only people staying, but I'm not sure if I would have enjoyed staying there if there were other people staying.

Roelien and her team kept the house very warm with heaters throughout and electric blankets - we were there in exceptionally cold weather and greatly appreciated the extra efforts for keeping us warm in the house. Great location, very central, comfortable beds with lots of extra bedding provided for warmth. Roelien and her team were so friendly and made us feel right at home.

Breakfast was average and overpriced . Very disappointing

Baked beans straight out of the cans and so was the veg curry . Not palatable at all and sadly we were charged per individual items . We are seasoned travellers . This brekkie was one of the worst at s huge price

We simply loved the tranquility of Sutherland, the location of the guesthouse, the spacious rooms and the lovely veranda the Stellar Dust Guesthouse provided!

The use of the kitchen facilities was not obvious, maybe because of the handover period. It was somewhat of a pity that some outside lighting could not be switched off temporarily to fully enjoy the night skies Sutherland is known for...

The Guesthouse is well equipped and we had a very comfortable stay.The owners also own the Blue Moon Restaurant where we enjoyed a very tasty evening meal as-well as a breakfast the next day . Our stay was only one night which was too short to enjoy all the activities Sutherland have to offer .This was my first visit to Sutherland and we thoroughly enjoyed our stay . My recommendation is to visit Sutherland for a minimum of 2 days . The Owner of Blue Moon Guesthouse and Restaurant and his staff are very friendly and helpful .

The most comfortable bed! I stayed in room 1 - it was warm, cosy and had everything i needed, and the bed was perfect. I normally struggle to sleep while away, but not this time. Bathroom wasn't en-suite, but i had one down the hall allocated to me and it was perfectly fine.

Filter coffee would be nice.

Sutherland is off to beaten track for most travelers. However don’t be put off. Stellar Dust Guesthouse was the perfect place to stay. Check in was simple and friendly. The accommodation was spotlessly clean and a friendly feeling too. All meals were off site but this was not a problem. Highly recommended.
