The new owners, Nicolas and Elaine were so friendly and gave us a very warm welcome. They also gave us lots of great recommendations for where to visit and see plus a wonderful restaurant in Martel for dinner. The room was very clean with a comfortable bed, good pillows and nice linens. They had turned on the heater so it was cozy and warm when we checked in. We enjoyed a great breakfast, all kinds of fresh bread, pastries, good coffee, yogurt, boiled eggs, fruit etc. Overall, a great stay at a lovely country chateau with terrific hosts! Highly recommend and would come again.

The madame and monsieur at the reception were both kind and cheerful, they made our stay tasteful. My children enjoyed the pool, it was not so big, but a good size. Clean and simple.

We didn't know there was another hotel with the same name 8 km away. We first went there by mistake, haha. Fortunately, they were only 20 minutes away from each other. The 1st Hotel du Chateau was also kind.

The lady at reception (I think she might be the owner), was delightful. She doesn't speak any English, but she speaks some Spanish so we communicated that way. Our room was tiny but immaculate and the window had a mosquito net, which doesn't seem to be a standard feature in French hotels. Free on-site parking is always appreciated.

There isn't a lift so dragging our suitcases up two flights of stairs was hard work. But again, it seems to be normal for smaller French hotels not to have lifts, so we took it in our stride.

location was great to visit the caves, only 15 mins max away. Had super breakfast for 10 euros each and they provided gluten free bread for my husband. Very friendly Staff. Tiny surrounding area but very pretty. Church, pool, bar which was also shop and petrol station. Local bread shop and pizza further down the road.

Could really have done with a drink provided in the room. No water, tea, coffee facilities.

Confortable room with breakfast buffet

The noise and cigarette smell from below my window respectively after an exhausting day of work, and early in the morning.

We liked the location. It was conveniently located to the attractions we wanted to visit without the overwhelming tourist traffic. The accommodations were small but perfect for our needs. It was the only place we stayed where breakfast was included. It was quiet at night!

Can not think of anything we did not like.

There wasn’t any air con and it was 40 degrees, not that the hotel can help the weather but the fan in our room struggled to keep us cool

The owners were very nice and helpful, with good recommendations and willing to go the extra mile for the visitors.

Very kind welcome, clean room, great park in front of the hotel. Whole Alvignac is a very nice city.
