We've stayed at this hotel a couple of times now, and were so happy to find that the experience was just as excellent as in previous years. The staff are incredibly welcoming and professional – they really make you feel at home. The food is outstanding, with plenty of delicious options, and the rooms are always clean, comfortable, and well-maintained. It's a peaceful location too, which makes it perfect for a relaxing break. We’ll definitely be back again! We were also able to buy some red wine from the hotel, we recommend the Spatburgunder!

The room was absolutely pretty! We had nice trails for walks behind the hotel where we could easily walk our dogs. The breakfast was delicious and rich with local food and the dinner in their restaurant exquisite! Very big portions and super tasty. We had a great experience with the staff members too, everyone was friendly and smiling. A very pleasant stay. Would come back!

The only thing maybe is the sound proofing- walls might be a bit thin and doors don’t close out the noise properly. But wasn’t too bothered by it.

Very comfortable room with balcony overlooking the hills at the back of the hotel. Quiet. Beautiful German style. Very friendly staff. Plenty of parking spaces. Good breakfast for €15. The restaurant serving lunch and dinner has a very good reputation

It would have been a nice touch if there were tea and coffee making facilities in the room.

I was met a friendly and hospitable reception, the staff is very willing to accommodate any specific wishes or questions. Be sure to also eat here, the restaurant prepares excellent food and a very delicious cold locally brewed beer. Don't forget the outstanding sunsets on the restaurant terrace.

It was just beautiful and nice property. It was super clean inside the room. I enjoyed to see sunset from balcony every evening. Nice restaurant in the hotel and room service was great.

I needed English menu. But the server was very kind to explain everything in English at restaurant.

Second stay here and we intend to return again! Same as last the staff were great, friendly , welcoming and accommodating. The food was fantastic and we really enjoyed the local wine which we bought, it was only 9 euro a bottle which can be pitched from the hotel, highly recommended.

Location! Surrounded by mountains, trees, rural homes, brooks, birds. Lovely hotel run by very friendly people. Attentive! Nice breakfast. We had a spacious room. Bathroom with separate shower and big bath. Hairdryer, big mirror and magnifying mirror. Some basic toiletries. Complementary bottle of water. TV, several lamps, side tables and two settees. Wardrobe with safe. There was a huge window with sliding panels, like you had a balcony. We could see for miles. See birds of prey, bats, swallows. Hear owls at night. And the stars you could see! Wow. We didn't hear any guests from our room. There's a local (not very busy) road at the front of the hotel, we were at the back and couldn't hear it. Good, comfortable beds. Just down the hill there's a town called Bad-Herrenalb where there's a supermarket, drugstore, bakery, ice-cream salon, hat shop (recommended!), cafés & several restaurants (Abbas!). Plenty of hiking/walk options nearby or a bit further by car. Several waterfalls within an hours drive. Baden-Baden is 45min by car. We didn't use it, but as you are paying a tourist tax, you are eligible for a free public transport card for most of the Schwarzwald (Black Forest) area. Make sure to check it out if you would like to use public transport. They have them at the hotel. Dogs are allowed (12,50 per night) and plenty of free parking at hotel.

There was no airconditioning. Which we knew, so we brought a fan. A very small fan was provided, but with current summers, I feel they should invest in AC or bigger fans. It was a sloping roof facing south (sun from midday till sundown). We had dinner first evening in hotel. Husband had the wiener schnitzel which was good. I had a chicken dish with something like cous-cous. Not much chicken and tasted dry, blend & boiled. Cous-cous was way too sharp in flavour. The dessert was great. I asked for plenty of chocolate sauce and that's what I got :-D

After booking another hotel in the area and leaving disappointed, we arrived late and tired. The staff was friendly and welcoming, the hotel has a nice ambience. Very nice food (dinner and breakfast) and a comfortable and clean room. Would definitely recommend.

The twin bed was uneven and a bit too hard for our taste.

The room was spacious and clean. a lovely view from the balcony. The breakfast was also very nice.

The only problem was the wifi connection that worked only in few areas. Even on a leasure trip you do need to check some information / buy some tickets etc. and the connection just wasn't reliable. Mobile internet coverage was also non-existant.

It's a comfortable country hotel, in a nice quiet village, close to the main town and all the region offers. The staff were great and its clear they pride themselves on their food. It was great that this is a German hotel with few concessions for non German speakers. It was good to be able to practice my German and work with the staff to be understood, for example to order food and drinks. We walked to town 30min tops and tourist office sorted us a great walk for our single day stay (free booklet and 5ish euro wander kart to walk to and do the wildcat trail)

Whilst I loved having to try my German, did we miss out on the half board offer, the local bus visitors card, the fire escape info and info on local walks? Yes we probably did. Sounds like you can't win but a simple english one pager in the visitor pack? Oh and the smoke at night and in the morning in our back facing room (from visitors or staff?) was on a very hot evening with windows open- not good. No issue I am sure with closed windows. Having said that a great place for a short stay if you love expensive German food.
