The location is right in the middle of the main town square with easy access to cultural events, museums, and restaurants. The breakfast was really fabulous. There was a wide range of foods to suit all tastes, an abundance of fresh-cut fruit, hot dishes, local flavours, and sweet breads. The hotel property is historic and very pretty. We loved the art work that adorned the public areas. The front desk staff went above and beyond the call of duty one evening when we had food poisoning (not from food at the hotel). They offered to call a doctor and then rang to check on us.

The front desk staff was not as responsive when it came to the shower head that was clogged with calcium deposits making the water flow too sparse. In addition, there was no possibility to turn on the cold water so we had to shower fast as the water was burning hot. It took more than 24-hours for the staff to send someone to fix the shower head but the cold water in the shower and bathroom sink clogging were not addressed. The bathroom sink drained very slowly.

The common areas of this hotel are absolutely beautiful (rooms fine, just nothing special). Location is excellent on the main square. The breakfast buffet has many choices and runs to 12p daily. Rooms are quiet.

Bed sheets were scratchy. Pillows were lumpy. I attempted to contact the hotel through Booking, email, whatsapp before my reservation, all were ignored. Because there is no ac, and you can't open windows without getting mosquitos, rooms should have fans (they were supposed to bring one, but never did).

Loved the Bar with the blue velvet comfy chairs. Dinner was very good with lots of choices. The location was ideal in the middle of town....this is a great old hotel with lots of character and charm.

The suite we had was a little bare...needs seating in the bedroom, luggage racks, and more decoration. The room was really cold but the hotel brought us a small portable heater and more blankets.

The buffet breakfast was the best I've had anywhere. Truly amazing with omlets and quesadillas made to order, savory meat, bean, potato, and vegetable dishes, fresh fruit, and fresh squeezed juices. Also, there's an unheated pool in the middle courtyard and we happened to have a room that opened up to it. It was clean and cold and amazingly refreshing to take a dip every morning! Plus the staff were incredibly nice.

Room furnishings and batheroom were a bit spare, only two pillows and two towels for the both of us.

Great location, excellent breakfast buffet- just don't arrive too early. Good restauarant upstairs with great staff. Beds comfortable, hot water, and ok wifi.

Apart from the doorman and upstairs restaurant staff, the staff was less than welcoming. I wish they had made more of an effort to honor the history of the hotel than such bland any old roadside motel decor.

Awesome colonial-style hotel next to the main plaza of this nice little town. The breakfast was simply extraordinary with all local dishes included. Service and staff was super-friendly (except for one rather grumpy employee at reception) and tried to make the stay as pleasant as possible. Rooms are modern and very clean.

It might be that the room doors are not as soundproof as one might think. Moreover, there is no safe for valuables in the room.

Beautiful property, location, and welcoming atmosphere. I would stay here again. The restaurant on site and the breakfast buffet were excellent!

The only improvement area is the comfort of the room - specifically room temperature. There is no A/C or fans in the room and it gets warm.

Internet, which they are fixing after a big hail storm. No stands or benches etc. For suitcases.

Excellent location and service. Delicious breakfast with local cuisine. Tlaxcala is a beautiful colonial city, full of history and historic monuments. The hotel is right in the middle of it.

Some extra blankets would have been appreciated
