I can see a lot of people passing this motel up, but it’s truly such a nice stay for the price! Honestly the best value I’ve gotten in an accommodation in a very long time! It’s a bit outdated, BUT my room had new flooring that was nicely installed and a nice updated bath/shower! The bathroom sink/vanity was still fairly outdated, but in perfect working order. Staff upon check in/check out were extremely pleasant and kind!

I didn’t like that my room didn’t have a chain lock, but there was an additional deadbolt lock on the door I was able to use.

I love staying here when I am traveling for work. Quick and easy check in and very comfortable rooms for the crazy reasonable rate! There is a man when I check out who is the most kind and caring individual. Always sends me away with blessings of health and happiness for me and my family. I just can’t say enough great things about the South Wind Inn!

Good location, great value, room had all amenities I expected, except . . .

The room initially assigned, #29, had functioning AC on the first night, but I couldn't get it working on 2nd night. To their credit, when I brought this to management's attention, they switched me to another room with functioning AC, so I was able to eventually get a good night's sleep.

Comfortable mattress, good air conditioning, and everything very clean.

This is not the fault of the property, but Liberal, KS, on the 4th of July has the feel of a war zone. I have never heard so many fireworks - from 5:30 pm to 12:30 am. Not exactly a restful evening after a long day of driving.

Nice room. I like that you can park right next to your room. Rooms are clean and updated inside. Love that it is right near the Wizard of Oz attraction. Manager was very kind and welcoming.

A little close to the road, but it wasn't really a problem.

Location was next to Dorothy’s House/Land of Oz. It’s cute. The rooms are just right. The managers are sooooo nice, friendly & warm. Of this specific road trip of which I stayed at several motels, the beds and pillows were the most comfortable. Honestly the beds are wonderful, very high quality. TV/cable worked great. Also the nighttime outside lighting was real good, very secure.

I really liked the property. We had trouble turning on A/C, but once we figured it out, it worked fine.

The property is incredibly well cared for and meticulously maintained. It looks like it’s a new version of the classic motor inns. By far the best kept and clean motel sub -$500 a night I have ever stayed in.

Clean room. Comfortable bed. We were just looking for a place to get a good night's sleep on a long two day journey.

Internet signal was poor and I kept getting disconnected. I ended up using my phone's hotspot to check my email.

The room was very nice. Had a nice AC unit and fan. The room was very clean an presentable. The Owner/Manager was very friendly and even drove me to the airport the next day.

The room was extremely clean. Beds were very comfortable. The staff was friendly. We don't stay in luxury hotels when we travel but we do want our motels to be clean and the beds to be comfortable. The price was right and we were not disappointed. Check out the sweet little tribute to Dorothy of The Wizard of Oz which is right in back of this location.
