Warm welcome and lovely staff, nice and interesting big room.

As we came late, we were hungry and around the hotel there are no other places to eat, so we were proposed to eat at the upstairs restaurant. Unfortunately we were all alone, no waiter, no music, nothing, just tables and chairs and silence. It felt cold and quite awkward, so we decided to order room service and eat in the room. We saw the kitchen while passing by and it did not really inspired us for a good dinner. Unfortunately the order took one hour to come to the room, weirdly because we were one of the 3 rooms taken that night from the whole hotel. The food was not delicious and more like "microwaved". Also the shower floor was passing the water for the rest of the washroom and not well isolated at all. No toilet paper was found.

The kindness of the staff, the welcome...were amazing. The room was huge and the jacuzzi is a plus. We really liked the hotel decoration and style. The bed is very confortable and the quality of the materials used in the shower room were first class. There was streaming service in the TV which we enjoyed very much. The price is high for Sri Lanka but it is quite a luxurious room. It is really worthwhile.

The shower and jacuzzi have water leaks. We also expected a breakfast at the quality level of the room. But these were not huge problems. We will remember our stay as an excellent one.

The concept is really cool. The whole inside looks like 18th century England so that’s already quiet the experience. The room was nice and clean. We had dinner and the food was great! Staff was very helpful and kind. It was really quiet but the staff really tried their best for us.

The food was really nice but (i think) because there weren’t many (or any) other guests we had to order beforehand. We were a little later than the time we told the kitchen, which was of course our own fault, but because of that the food was already a bit cold.. still tasted good tho. But it’s not very relaxt to have time pressure on that matter. Also it is a little bit further from the centre of Nuwara Eliya so you have to take a tuktuk (20 min). They can arrange it for you!

I would say our stay at Fort Windshire was surely a memorable and a pleasurable one. A castle-like hotel, the entire view was breathtaking, surrounded by 2 mountain ranges, and a forest. The whole concept is medieval and gave us a different and a very relaxing experience. The staff was very welcoming, helpful and accommodating. Food was awesome, we especially enjoyed the delicious burger they offered. I would consider choosing this place again when we visit Sri Lanka next time. Keep on doing the good work!

Breakfast was very good/delicious and huge variety - enjoy on the rooftop with a nice view. The hotel staff organised for us a driver which was very helpful. Clean room. We had the suite which was extremely spacious and the view from the balcony to the surrounding mountains very nice (if you overlook the neighbour construction site ;-).

Close to the hotel is a construction site. It is not noisy but doesn´t look very good. The hotel is quite far away from Nuwara Eliya and not so easy to reach as the road leading to the hotel is extremely steep and not in the best condition.

What a breathtaking hotel! The hotel is stunningly beautiful, with views that take your breath away. Staff were incredible and a real credit to this amazing hotel. Breakfast was delicious. If you get the opportunity to stay here take it with both hands!!

Very steep track up so don't try and take a strole away, we used tuk tuk power!

We really liked our number. Big, cozy, clean. Big and comfortable bed, there is a kettle and fridge. The bathroom is great. Delicious and varied breakfasts, friendly and always ready to help staff. Glad we stayed at Fort WindShire on our last days in Nuwara Eliya

The hotel is located away from the city center. For us, this was not critical, we walked several times to the city and back

Everything was excellent - The room had amazing views, was very clean and spacious. The food was delicious, we had breakfast and dinner everyday and it was the best food we have had in Sri Lanka. The service was amazing and staff are lovely, so attentive, thoughtful and helpful throughout.

Amazing view and very relaxing.Hotel is like a medival castle. Sri Lankas tallest mountain range can be seen from the room balcony and another mountain range can be seen from the room itself.Beds were super comfortable and very clean.Very friendly staff went beyond to make special food for our 2 year old (Thank you Nissanka). If you visit this place make sure you try the chicken burger and the biriyani. Last 200 meters of the road a bit bumpy but the view made it all good

Fort Windshire is one of the relatively newer hotels in the picturesque town of Nuwara Eliya. The service and the staff were fantastic. We stayed in a panoramic room looking onto the hillside, and the view was amazing. Would highly recommend this hotel!
