Considered the most historically preserved noble palace in all of Molise, the Palazzo del Prete is an overwhelmingly beautiful building that has been in the same family for 300 years. Our visit was accompanied by a detail-rich, fascinating tour of the palace, disclosing one stunning chamber after another. There are ravishing ceilings depicting griffins and putti and flowers and birds, all rendered with the highest level of craftsmanship. Breakfast (included) was delicious and generous. Our room included a four-poster bed and breathtaking views of the town and surrounding mountains. Highly recommended.

Everything was great! One come here really to see and stay in this authentic historical property. The room was nice and clean. The property owners are very welcoming, speak fluent English and gave us a very nice and interesting tour around the villa. Breakfast was good, you get to order what you like beyond the normal bread, marmalade yoghurt and fruits available. The town is nice and quiet like the area around the property.

Everything was great! A sign outside the property could be usefully to make it easier to find - we were tough helped in by the property owners good friend and cute daughter - nice people

Such a fabulous stay at Dimora del Prete di Belmonte! The location is beautiful. The palazzo is iconic. The hospitality is exceptional. Our host, Dorothy and the manager, Angela were warm and helpful with their advice and assistance. Our conversations are a highlight of our stay. We are so grateful to have met you and all the proprietors of Venafro that were so welcoming and hospitable! A wonderful "home away from home" in Molise. I really hope we can come back soon!

Everything was perfect!

On a scale of one to 10 with 10 being the very best a property can be in terms of staff attentiveness, location, beauty, and historical interest, my husband and I would rate this place a 200! The kindness and attentiveness of our host Dorothy (and Angela who truly lives up to the angel in her name) left us astounded. They treated us like special friends and not simply people coming to stay in such a beautiful and richly appointed Palazzo with such a fascinating history. They were attentive to every need and gave us fabulous restaurant recommendations and were ready to arrange all sorts of things for us. We were only a few steps into the Palazzo and had not even put our luggage into the room when we decided to book a return trip to the Palazzo a few months hence because we were so enchanted by Angela's sweet helpfulness and the amazing scale of the Palazzo. Fortunately, we live in in Italy and are able to do this. Dorothy gave us a fascinating tour of the stunning rooms and shared her family's 400 year history in this exquisite and fascinating place with history everywhere one looks. There is also a Turkish bath and sauna which we intend to use when we return in a few months. Even though the weather was chilly we enjoyed strolling around the lovely garden and taking fantastic photos not to mention all the fabulous photos we took in the Palazzo itself. The room where we had breakfast and the library next to our room, as well as the stunning salone rosso, and the ancient kitchen with all the copper pots and huge oven are incredible opportunities for photos. The little chapel inside the Palazzo is brimming with fascinating history. Breakfast was lovely and the very best part of our experience was learning the history and being treated as friends and being made to feel so special. We can't wait to return!

Everything was fabulous!!!

It was like staying in a museum. It was so so beautiful. The staff was lovely, welcoming, and let us store our luggage after checkout. Breakfast was also amazing, there were lots of options. The location is perfect as it’s in walking distance to the Castle, Archeological Museum, WinterLine WW2 museum, olive tree park, restaurants and more! We had such a great stay and we really can’t wait to come back. We recommend this place whole heartedly 10/10

There was nothing to complain about, it is perfect

The palace is absolutely beautiful and full of history and original features. The staff (Dorothy & Angela) were lovely and welcoming, and offered a tour of the property to hear about its features and history. There so much wonderful character in this property. The breakfast was fantastic - fresh warm bread, homemade marmalades, cheese and meat - we also had eggs. There is a lift in the property which is good for those less able bodied. The location provides epic views over the area and the terrace we had offered views over an incredible vista. Despite the rain, it was still a cracking view! Highly recommend experiencing this accommodation and being awed in the same way we were.

Dimora del Prete di Belmonte is a fabulous place to stay. I only wish we could have stayed longer. We were visiting places my father had been during WWII and Dorothy put us in touch with the head of the Winterline Museum who gave us a private tour of the area with respect to battlefields, river crossings, etc. The breakfast at Dimore del Prete was wonderful and served in the Pompeii room with beautiful wall painting and furnishing. On our last morning there, Angela gave us a tour of the parts of the palace we hadn't seen. I hope I can return some day to see some of the places in Venafro that we didn't have time for and to spend more time in this historic palace.

It was a positive experience all around.

Extraordinary building ,one of a kind . The owner and manager were extremely helpful and friendly, arranged a car hire which was delivered to the door within the hour , which we were grateful for as we speak no Italian . Breakfast was great- in amazing surroundings. Was given a full tour of this fabulous historic house before our departure.

the breakfast was delicious and amazing. I loved that we could have pastries with house made jams and coffee and eggs made to order. The owner was super friendly and helpful. It was like staying at my favorite Aunts home. The house was incredible and its history was so fun to learn about .

What is not to like? This is a palace, yet very comfortable and welcoming. It is such a unique experience. This was a return visit, and it won’t be my last. I cannot describe it, and the pictures just barely capture the beauty. On my last visit I had a tour of the various rooms. They’re all unique and inviting. You’ll feel transported in time.
