The location of our apartment was just a few steps from the piazza. The accommodation was superb and so tastefully restored by the Di Ciacca family. We travelled as a family and each apartment was different but so beautiful. We would hope to return.

The breakfast was brought to our room from the nearby cafe. We felt that it could have been improved by adding, say, some cheese and prosciutto or some pastries although the lovely bowl of fresh fruit provided was much appreciated.

I'm surprised that the listing does not include photos of the rooms because ours was very pleasant. The bed was very comfortable with a soft mattress. Breakfast (coffee, juice and cornetti) was most welcome, and eating it on the terrace with the beautiful view over the Val di Comino was enjoyable. Parking was not a problem - the piazza was closed for a festa the evening we arrived but there is a car park not far away up the hill where we were always able to find a spot. Our host Cesidio and Francesca who brought the breakfast in the morning were both pleasant and helpful. On departure Cesidio presented us with a bottle of his family wine which was very nice when we opened it later. We left an item behind in the room and Cesidio and Francesca dealt with it very helpfully.

The Wi-Fi did not work. Apparently they had recently had the internet upgraded so hopefully that was just teething problems which will be resolved soon. Otherwise, nothing really to complain about. The "coffee machine" turned out to be a stove-top percolater but that's OK. Air-conditioning would have been nice (we were there in August) but I accept that it would only really be needed for a few weeks a year, and we knew that there was no aircon when we booked.

This was a random choice of location to avoid the heat and crowds of the city and Picinisco exceeded all expectations. An area that we did not know but that has a long, diverse and very interesting history. We ate excellent local food and drank with the friendly locals in the square. The suite combined the charm of the very old building with all the comfort of a modern room. The design is clever and retains the character of the building. The rooms are located steps from the main square but are quiet with idyllic views of the valley. The host Cesidio is passionate about the region and has incredible local knowledge. We were privileged to visit his vineyard and learn about a grape that exists only there and sample great organic wines. We plan to return soon.

Beautiful property with the most accommodating, helpful staff situated in the mountains with awe inspiring views. Great location to relax and get away from crowded tourist destinations, and enjoy delicious local eateries.

Beautiful location and views!! So much history it was amazing to step outside the terrace everyday and see the most unbelievable backdrop of Italy. Loved the location was easy nearby hiking, restaurants, cafes.

Needed AC or few more fans

We had a small problem with a fuse blown but were immediately asked to switch rooms. A very generous gesture. Many Thanks. Perfect location for the village we know very well. Francesca was excellent.

The breakfast was wonderful, as was Francesca. She was happy, friendly and knowledgeable. The rooms were beautiful, the views stunning and the atmosphere superb.

I can't think of anything that could be improved

This is an idyllic location in a mountain village overlooking the Comino valley with panoramic views of valleys and mountains. The accommodation over 2 floors is exceptional with matching facilities. A wonderful base to explore the national park. It was lovely to be welcomed and greeted so warmly - Thank you for such a comfortable stay.

There is nothing that we didn't like - as we said an idyllic setting

The location was superb with amazing views. The standard throughout the 2 bedroom suite we had was exceptional. The beds were so comfy. The owner and staff were extremely friendly and helpful. It was such a lovely treat having our breakfast delivered to us each morning.

Absolutely nothing

Albergo Diffuso Sotto Le Stelle Picinisco exceeded my expectations. My family are from Picinisco and I had not been there since I was a child. I was absolutely blown away by the Village and that's mainly down to one man Cesidio di Ciacca and his family. They have re-vitalised their historical village and turned it into a welcoming, peaceful retreat, surrounded by beauty, elegance and literally, a "home from home". It's USP is the community feel, you must integrate with your surroundings, with stunning panoramic views, vast vineyards, local produce, friendly local people, who speak 'your' language. Sheer elegance and sophistication. HIGHLY RECOMMEND 5*
