Palazzo del Sanatore is a a unique gem nestled in the beautiful town of Atina. The hotel itself is a lovely old, wonderfully renovated palace with spectacular views of the mountains and set in a quiet but central location. The owners were exceedingly gracious and gave us wonderful suggestions for day hikes, and restaurants. The dining choices in Atina were outstanding with some of the most creative in authentic cooking, we experienced while in Italy. We're pretty experienced travelers, and this was definitely one of our favorite spots.

The Palazzo del Senatore is elegant and tastefully decorated. I especially enjoyed studying the historical relics on location. The outdoor terrace view was exceptional and colazione prima was as good as it gets for Italy. Dannielle and Alessandra were great hosts taking the time to assist us with questions in a friendly and relaxed manner. We were lucky in that our visit coincided with the Atina Wine tasting event which was wonderful! After sampling some 15 different vintages from the region late into the evening we got a late slow start the next morning. Dannielle graciously facilitated a late checkout so that we could check out the monday morning flee market in town before leaving.

We randomly selected this location as a halfway stop on our road trip from southern Puglia to Tuscany. We were pleasantly surprised to find that the accommodation, the village and the area were so beautiful and exceeded our expectations! We wished we could have stayed longer. The hosts were very friendly and the history of the Palazzo and their family is very interesting. The rooms are historic, but with all modern comforts including modern bathrooms and comfortable beds, desk, storage, small fridge, iron/board etc. Everything is impeccably clean. The breakfast terrace is beautifully furnished and the view over the mountain valley is spectacular. The village itself is very pretty and charming and we loved getting a drink at the bar next to the Palazzo Ducale in the old centre, just two minutes walk from the hotel. The locals were also very friendly, a couple of them pointing out historic details to us. They seemed quite proud of the history, including the remains of a Roman cistern. Highly recommend this place to those looking for the road less traveled. We definitely want to go back.

The hotel was awesome. Inside and outside. Inside it was restaurated very beautifully. A really pleasure to stay in such a wonderfull location. With such a charming and friendly host. The hotel is situated perfectly in a small village with very nice restaurants. We enjoyed a nice meal in the restaurant Botola. Only reason it why it is not a 10 is because of the breakfast. The breakfast is more then ok, we just miss eggs and fresh orange juice. But thats personal

Breakfast was good; the cheeses were outstanding! Wonderful service by the lovely woman who made our espressos and cappuccinos. We opted to eat on the beautiful terrace, which was a memorable experience - gorgeous views all around. The host is very gracious. Gave us the perfect recommendation for a casual authentic osteria for dinner. Parking for our little Fiat Panda was just at the front entrance. The building inside and out is stunning; the location ideal.

The only thing I can think of is the bathroom in Room 8 could use a little more light. And this could just be my jet lag, having flown across the Atlantic and driven to Atina straight from Fiumicino, but the ceiling on the window side of the bed in this room is slanted (dormer), making it very easy to bump your head. These are minor points; we would stay in Room 8 again tomorrow:)

Beautiful hotel located in the centre of the old part of Atina. Location simply couldn't be better. Easy to reach by hire car and ample parking in town square. Rooms very well appointed, excellent facilitites. We had a suite so the children were on a sofa bed. Room still had plenty of room with the sofa bed out. The view from our balcony in room was stunningly beautiful! Spacious and spotlessly clean bathroom (although our room had a large, walk-in shower, not a bath). Breakfast (8am to 9.30am) in the courtyard was excellent and views over the valley below are simply spectacular. Lots of restaurants and cafes within walking distance so lots of options for lunch and dinner. Daniel and his team were kind and well informed hosts. So glad we found this gem in the mountains!

Our only complaint with the room was an inability to control (notably to turn off at night) the air conditioning. But definitely a "first-world" problem.

Palazzo del Senatore is a wonderful, historic place to stay and is owned by a lovely couple whose ancestors are the original owners of the property. The palace is spotlessly clean and houses beautiful family antiques. The wife/owner Alessandra was so welcoming and helpful during our stay. We slept like kings in the comfortable bed, very quiet bedroom with blackout curtains. Breakfast was superb. We will be back!

Beautifully furnished and perfect location. The terrace for breakfast and selection of fruit and breads, cakes were delicious and eating with a view of the beautiful valley and mountains was something we will not forget. The owner was welcoming and explained everything, the bed was comfortable and the hotel luxurious. Atina is a small village but the hotel has bike rental services available and we would love to return for this and explore the area some more.

There was nothing we did not like.

The property was absolutely beautiful and in a great location. The rooms were large and very clean. The bed was very comfortable. The free breakfast was delicious and it was nice to have cafe americano available. The owners were very nice and accommodating. All of this at a very good price. My husband and I would love to return someday!

We disliked nothing.

The hotel is very well located right in the centre of the town. With very easy access. As an interior designer I would be very picky with places I stay. And I can honestly say that this property is spotlessly clean and very well maintained. The interior of the building is modern but yet classically Italian. The terrace has breathtaking views. We stayed in a suite at the front of the hotel and we didn’t hear a sound. The rooms are spacious, cool & calming.
