Our purpose was to research my father's and uncles part in the Polish army in WW2 in Monte Cassino. This hotel has lots of WW2 historical information and the proprietors are very very knowledgeable and happy to help with all my questions, explaining the topography and the battle plan and suggesting where we should walk to explore the history. A strong recommendation as a good place to stay if this is your passion. A good hearty breakfast. Excellent bakery a short stroll away and bars and restaurants within short walking distance.

If you have any interest at all in the history of Monte Cassino during WW2 you must stay here. Pino, the owner is a gentleman and a scholar and the perfect host. He must surely know more about the Monte Cassino campaigns than anyone else alive. He has turned an interest, unobtrusively, into a museum, a library and an amazing archive. The hotel and rooms are super comfortable and spacious. We had a huge balcony with incredible views of the hilltop monastery. All staff were very helpful and friendly. The location is excellent with good restaurants nearby. Breakfast offered great and filling choices. We are cycle-touring and the team found us a secure, safe place to keep our bikes. I knew that my father had been at Monte Cassino but knew very little else. Pino researched over night and in the morning told me exactly where my father would have been and showed me on a map exactly where. He then pointed me to some detailed accounts of what happened in May 1944 and i have finally learned so much mote about my Dad. It was very moving and I cannot thank Pino enough

Antonnio was awesome to connect with and great comm’s The apartment was great location close to everything and we were pleasantly surprised what a great area surrounds the apartment . We were able to store our bags on the 1st floor for the day before we went to the airport and they were super great too. Overall for a short stay would highly recommend

The walls a little thin as we had a noisy neighbor but it didn’t last long so all good

If anyone is planning to visit Cassino with regards to visiting the WW11 battle sites and the Monastery then this is the hotel for you. The hotel is like a museum concerning the Battle of Monte Cassino and the owner PINO is so knowledgeable and very helpful and friendly with any questions or issues that you put to him. The breakfast was excellent to set you up for your visit to the town. My wife and I will stay at this hotel again if we visit Cassino again in the future.

It was not good for disability person and wheelchair users it was to far to walk as well and to far go shop need get taxis everytime need to shop and would not be good for disability person and room was not wheelchair accessible and step into room too

Location, staff and the interesting museum style exhibits in the communal area of the hotel were all perfect for those interested in the WW2 battle for Monte Cassino. The hotel would also be a good base for trekking too.

Tea and coffee facilities in rooms would add a nice touch.

We went to Cassino because of a family connection to the battle for Montecassino and this hotel was the perfect place to stay. As others have also said, the host, Pino Valente, is extremely knowledgeable and generous with his time and knowledge. We learned so much in the 2 days (3 nights) we spent there. I should also add that the breakfast was abundant and delicious. All the other staff were also very cheerful and welcoming.

This property was a last minute booking, as another was logistically further out in the countryside with very little transport. A local I met on the train helped my family from the train station. What we found was a a treasure of history it’s location. The hotel was built by the late father who served in the war effort of capturing mount Cassino 1944. La pace is peace in Italian. The hotel holds a lot of memorabilia from the time. The hotel is frequented by family members who relatives served and perhaps died fighting for mount cassino and the st Benedict’s monastery at the top of the mount. Personal ledgers and written logs with pictures and family history are in the hotel, from various countries around the world. A unique time capsule with walking or bus tours to the rebuilt monastery. There are lots of local shops cafes and eateries, it’s surrounded by the Italian mountains in the countryside, very relaxed and locals with the help of Google translate were very kind and friendly, la pace is an Italian word I adore and is unique in its pronunciation, great rooms, breakfast is a Italian countryside buffet of various delights, a history buffs dream location and stay for knowledge and culture.

What an experience. We came to revisit where my partner's father served in WWII and couldn't have chosen a better place to stay. Pino, the general manager, gave us HOURS of his time discussing the Allies' participation in the War, the role they played, and Italy's part in the War too. We watched videos and gained invaluable knowledge and insight thanks to this wonderful man and his passion for the history of Cassino. The hotel is fabulously located, with a great view of Montecassino and the Abbey. It's comfortable and spotless, but its true value is in its memorabilia and its informative manager who goes the extra mile. Oh and the breakfast is great too!

Fabulous location with great view of the Abbey. We were staying as part of a journey to retrace father’s history fighting in battle of Montecassino. Breakfast was wonderful. Quirky hotel with lots of memorabilia from the war. Secure parking for our motorcycle. Close to town, so easy to find food and drink.

Room decor was a little run down and tired. A kettle in the room would be nice.
