Honestly it was one of my best visits to Greece! The hotel is perfectly located right next to the beach (there are several beaches though, both by cliffs and with sand), the staff is very friendly and helpful. Everything you need is located just 50 meters away - shops, cafes, restaurants. The room is clean, renovated and spacious enough for a couple, the balcony is big too. We had absolutely zero problems with bathroom or cleaning, WiFi was also working properly throughout our stay (as I work online and have to make video calls, it helps very much!), as well as a/c. Moreover, you can hike up to the Temple of Aphaia (takes from 30 min to 1 hour) right from Agia Marina, which is a very amusing experience! And last but not least is that you can get to Agia Marina by direct ferry from Athens - it takes you only 30 minutes! And then you can walk from the port for around 2-3 minutes to get to the hotel. Big thanks to Giannis for this comfortable and amusing stay!
Everything was great!

The location was really amazing and as many others have written, the owner Giannis is a remarkable man doing everything to make his visitors happy. There was a kettle in the room as promised but on request Giannis also provided cups etc - our comfort was always his priority and clearly guests really enjoyed him. The cleaner was always friendly and worked fast and efficiently when we were in the room. Within a 100 m there was an endless variety of super friendly restaurants and the beach cafes were also a great option. We have always loved Aegina and now Agia Marina is our favorite resort on the island. September going into October is a perfect time.
The bathrooms are tiny but one can learn to cope and as the water supply is excellent the tiny shower is still pleasant.

I recently had the pleasure of staying at the one-star Rachel Hotel in Agia Marina, Aegina. While it may not boast luxury amenities, it offers a delightful experience for budget-conscious travelers. Here’s why: Immaculate Cleanliness: The hotel is well-maintained, ensuring a comfortable stay. Warm and Welcoming Owner: Giannis, the owner, is incredibly friendly and attentive. Whether it’s recommending local attractions or helping in arranging transportation, he’s always there to assist. Prime Location: The Rachel Hotel is perfectly situated—just a stone’s throw away from the main street and a mere two-minute walk to the stunning beach. You’ll find restaurants, grocery shops, and even the harbor nearby. Speaking of which… Harbor Connections: it’s not the main harbor in Aegina, so check ferry connections from Athens or just contact Giannis 😀 Family-Friendly Atmosphere: Traveling with my family was a joy at the Rachel Hotel. Whether you’re a solo traveler, a couple, or a family, the Rachel Hotel offers a warm and inviting atmosphere. Book your stay—you won’t be disappointed! 🌴🏨

- good location close to the sea, supermarket and harbour. The trail to the Athea temple starts very close to the property too. - clean and well maintained - good internet, no problems with hot water - good responsible host. Got a great free upgrade of my room (first floor with balcony and part sea view). - large fridge and electric kettle in the room, kitchenware available on request, convenient for self caterers.
nothing really, a perfect stay. Note though that due to the proximity of other hotels and restaurants, the place may get noisy in high season (but was very quiet in mid April) - (minor) a larger desk in the room instead of the mirror would be good (there is already a large mirror in the bathroom). - (minor) would be good to have the room service not around 3 pm when one is just back from hiking but around 10-11 am.

The proprietor went out of his way to make our stay a really pleasant and comfortable one.Thank you! The lady who cleaned our room was marvellous, too.It was always lovely to go back to , after a day at the beach. Hotel was quiet , and comfortable. Location in Agia Marina is ideal for both the better stretch of the beach and also restaurants and various shops on the main road..
The bathroom was somewhat small and needed some renovation , but otherwise fine and clean.

Hotel Rachel was everything we wanted and more. 1 min from Supermarket. Right in the middle of the village. 2 mins from a beautiful sandy beach. Giannis went above and beyond, made sure we had everything we wanted. We asked for an extra sheet and it was waiting for us when we got back. Our toilet seat broke and they did everything to get a new one for us. Helpful, organised taxis when we needed. Breakfast was everything we could want: fresh bread, ham, cheese, spreads including wonderful local peanut butter. Cereals, fruit etc. Room was simple, bed comfortable and big balcony to chill on. A lovely, down to earth, super friendly place to stay, really enjoyed, thank you Giannis!

My stay at Hotel Rachel was a delightful home from home. Lovely welcoming and friendly hosts, Giannis and Angelica looking after me and being so helpful, nothing was too much trouble to make my stay so enjoyable. I had a lovely double room with balcony and view of the beach, just a 2 minute stroll away. Giannis was very generous to me, I hadn't included breakfast in my booking, and he gave a daily breakfast for me free of charge. Lovely thing to do! Hotel Rachel is in the centre of Agia Marina, a short walk to the beach and local bus stop. The street is quiet and very pleasant to sit outside at the hotel's tables and chairs provided in front of the hotel. Agia Marina has many restaurants , cafe's and shops all open when I visited in May. The beach is lovely, situated in a beautiful bay, with sunbeds , umbrella's and cafe's, restaurants to give you everything you need. The people are lovely and welcoming and made my stay so memorable. I preferred Agia Marina to the main town Aegina Port, nice though it is.to visit. You have everything you want in Agia Marina and I am so glad to have stayed at Hotel Rachel. Lovely, caring host's Giannis and Angelica will look after you, in their outstanding hotel.
There was nothing I did not like. Everything was perfect for me.

The level of cleanliness and efficiency are unparalleled; staff members were extremely friendly and supportive; the beach is 50m from your doorstep (or about 150 if you do not fancy a 1-minute walk uphill); the room and bathroom were immaculately clean; a first-floor balcony makes a great difference and we whole-heartedly recommend these rooms; Covid measures were duly observed without causing any inconvenience to the guests. The hotel and staff were so great that we changed our plans and stayed for an extra couple of nights. Fantastic experience overall, thank you very much for everything guys, we will be regulars!

Amazing location, beautiful Agia Marina beach is literally at the doorstep of the Hotel. Everything is close and walkable distance, the main street, restaurants, bus stops and the Agia Marina port. With Island bus easy and cheap to reach to Temple of Aphai and Aegina town (other side of island). Hotel owner and staff are amazing friendly and helpful warm heartly hosts. Beach is free entrance, you can put your own equipment for free on free sports, but price of 2 sunbed with umbrella had pretty good price in September, for front line set we payed 15 EUR (for 2 person). Tavern and restaurant foods are nice, prices are fair also. Lovely island with beautiful spots and amazing hospitality, everybody speaks English. Agia Marina in September wasn't as crowded as Aegina on the other side, so it felt more cozy and friendly. Pistachio products and ice cream are amazing! I recommend Rachel Hotel to stay in Agia Marina, to discover the island and swim in amazing places, the room with balcony and air conditioner is ideal for a couple for few night staying.
Breakfast at the Hotel is monoton, offers every day same things, mostly sweet products. Bed was a bit uncomfortable. Air conditioner and the fan in bathroom worked a bit loud. The balconies are just partly seperated from each other so voices were loud at late night too which was disturbing the night rest in the room.

It’s right next to the beach and the tavernas are very close. Our host was absolutely fantastic. Before we came he was very helpful in giving ferry guidance (I haven’t visited for a while), even sending us the bus timetable! The breakfast was plentiful and varied and the place was clean. It’s great to know that true Greek hospitality survived covid. Thank you!
You have to remember that it is a 1* property, as such the bathroom is a bit cramped (size of room and balcony made up for that though)
