The room choosen for me was excellent and high floor facing waterfall. Very beautiful scenery from the room when it was snowing

Check in time was strictly 3pm despite many people waiting for their room from 1pm to 3pm. We were unable to go out walking because of the heavy rain. Maybe the hotel should have been flexible and compassionate and let us check in as it was raining heavily and many people were stuck in the lobby, unable to go out to enjoy the autumn florige. Please be flexible in future.

The room was spacious and I had a great view. The all-you-can-eat dinner and breakfast had a great selection. The hotel had a lovely onsen, which you can tell has been newly renovated. I can especially recommend the outdoor section of the onsen. However, please be aware that you cannot enter the onsen if you have tattoos. They do have a private family onsen that you can rent for 1 hour for 1000 yen. I really recommend this, if you for whatever reason cannot use the large onsen.

Big room, with comfortable futon. The onsen was the best thing of the hotel, it was great. It was clean, perfect temperature, and being able to stare at the stars while taking a hot bath is peak relaxing. Plenty of options at both dinner and breakfast buffet, even though the quality of the food wasn't that great, but for the price, it's reasonable.

It's an old hotel, and you can easily see that. Old paperwork and some mold spots aren't pleasant to look at, but it's not predominant throughout the hotel. The room was also a bit dusty in some areas.

a 2-minute walk from Kurobe-Unazukionsen station, 5 minutes from Unazuki Onsen station for the Kurobe Gorge railway. Room was super spacious and even though it said shared bathroom, there’s actually a full bathroom available and a separate toilet with a bidet. the resort is large with many things to occupy you (manga area, kids area, PC in common area) and the lobby area is huge too. onsen is nice and spacious with an open air section. the duvet was super fluffy

luggage has to be stored in the locker for 100 yen but since it’s super cheap, it’s not a big deal

Some reviewers were whining about the old condition of the hotel. It's mainly the dreadful carpet in the hallway all these ryokan/hotels tend to have, which is often discolored thru wear and use. My room was totally renovated, clean, and in excellent condition. The onsen had large containers of body soap, shampoo, and conditioner (labeled in English), and the water pressure of the showerhead was very strong. The hotel is not next door to, but is only a few minutes walk from the train station.

The buffet breakfast and dinner could have used a few more dishes of greater variety, however I paid around $66 U.S. for both meals so I can't complain. For dinner all-you-can-eat shabu shabu is included. The different dishes themselves were tasty and prepared well.

Staff were incredibly helpful. Onsen is wonderful and lots of extra amenities and activities to do within the hotel. Lots of choice for food in the buffet at breakfast and dinner.

One of the best breakfast in Japan and outside Japan with a lot of variety and high quality. Good hot spring and cozy common space.

Not so special things for bad. A bit old hotel with good reform.
