This is an historic building that truly gives a sense of France a century or more ago. The room, although with low beams, was large and comfortable. They had a portable air conditioning unit that made the room pleasant to sleep in despite the >90 F temperature during the day. Bathroom was fine. Wireless worked well. Check-in was simple. Parking could be had almost in front of the building (we arrived around 5pm on a saturday so we basically paid nothing since the pay lot only went to 6:30pm on saturday and was free Sunday). The location is wonderful, in between the nice regional museum and the one star Michelin restaurant we visited. Given the price, it was a wonderful value. My tip would be not to try to bring a big bag up the stairs. My wife and I just brought a backpack and a fan (we didn't know how warm the room would be based on previous reviews). This worked well. Trying to lug a big suitcase (or even a roller-bord) up the spiral staircase would be challenging for many.

The stairwell will only work for people that have no mobility issues. I am nearly 70 with size 14 shoes so the stairs were a bit dicey, but the majority of people should not have a problem if younger and fitter. I must say the narrowness of the staircase wasn't an issue, just the landing area for each step. Other smaller issues, it would have been nice to have more light in the room (Francois). Breakfast was rather minimal, but since we tend not to have it, this was not an issue for us. Having said this, the common area downstairs was nice and should be able to accommodate all guests as it appeared to only have three rooms.

Everything was provided for breakfast, to go with the items I had brought from home. Also, the very kind lady on the phone who talked me to the property as I got totally lost!

I knew about the winding staircase, and I was on the top floor. So it took two journeys to get my bags up there. It also meant that as there is no toilet on the ground floor, off the communal room, I had to go back up to the third floor again...bit of a trek!

The concept of having a ground floor room shared by all the flats was a bit weird but if the other occupants are fine then that would be ok.

On the booking site it said we could park our bikes securely, then when we arrived they just pointed to a bike rack in the street and said “put them there”. We didn’t have any locks but the woman who was letting us in didn’t care about that. So I would recommend this for travellers who don’t have bikes.

We like the quirkiness of the place, very clean with comfortable bed. We loved having the bath in the bedroom. Coffee and tea available in the room and little cakes. Steep staircase, would advise taking a small overnight bag only. Although you have to go and buy your own croissants and bread, there is jam fruit juice, milk, eggs tea and coffee. Although we did not meet the owners they contacted us to see if everything was OK. We love this accommodation for an overnight stay. This was our second visit.

There is plenty of parking immediately outside, however this is a municipal car park and spaces at a premium, if you are happy to walk a little way there is plenty of parking available.

room was very nice with good shower and tea / coffee making facilities, a good size for 2 people and was very clean. kitchen and breakfast bar was shared with other guests but was well serviced and kept very clean and tidy. Although host was not on site the communication was good before and during stay.

there was a communal rubbish collection area just outside the property which was over full and a bit messy but not smelly so just an eyesore really. Not sure if collection of rubbish had not occurred due to French strikes. parking in the town was expensive but managed to find a free car park in the end- would be good if host highlighted the location of the free car park. a bit dark in the bathroom area of the room but not a major issue for a short stay.

We stayed in the top floor room with the open bathtub and pitched roof which we loved. Incredibly comfortable bed, nice attention to detail, and respect for the original architecture of the building. The self-check-in system is efficient, the host is very communicative, and there is paid parking right outside the door.

We love that the old staircase was preserved but the lighting could be improved for safety.

Very well located in the centre of town, a lovely ancient house which has been imaginatively renovated. Very nice kitchen area and the lemon/mint water was much appreciated. Although the host was not present, we accessed the room OK and they were very responsive via the booking.com messaging system.

There is a paid carpark right outside which is helpful, but it required me to download an app in order to use it. Although this is not really anyone's fault, it was very hot the night we stayed and it was hard to cool the room down - a fan would have been useful.

A beautiful place to stay and every comfort has been thought of. We arrived on a Monday and nothing was open in the town so we’re very grateful for the small kitchen to prepare some food.

The stairs are narrow and there are low beams but we were given this information.

The building and structure is old yet seems robust (bit squeaky though). Room is very well oragnized, clean and decent. Room is equipped with coffer machine with 2 complementary coffee cartridge. Bed is spacy enough for a person and room is equipped with USB charger outlet for smart phones.

I stayed in a room on the top floor. Bath tab is placed in the right center of the bed room and to use shower, curtain needs to be used to avoid spreading water in the room but the bath tub was tiny for me.
