We had a fantastic stay at the Badaling Hotel — it felt like home the moment I walked in! David and May are incredible hosts who truly care about their guests. We originally came to see the Badaling section of the Great Wall, but it was packed with tourists — there was already a queue from the cable car! Thankfully, we decided to book a tour with David, a true history lover. He guided us to a hidden section of the Wall with absolutely no other tourists in sight — peaceful, breathtaking, and unforgettable. Later, he brought us to a local farm where we enjoyed a delicious lunch made with fresh, local specialties and even visited an ancient Stone village where we tasted "warrior liquor." Truly the highlight of my China trip! Don’t miss the chance to take a tour with David if you want the real Great Wall experience.

It’s an amazing place to stay I wash there for me birthday, it’s magic, you can see the sky full of stars. The location is wonderful. David’s family is the best. The can help to you all time. They picked me up me in the train station for free. I did a few tours en Beijing and they can help with everything. Also you can buy there very nice Chinese food. Chinese Drinks and anything. If you are looking for amazing experience in Beijing it’s 100 the best decision. I will come back !!! Thanks China 🇨🇳 Thanks a lot !!!

A very nice hostal with beautiful and traditional looks. David and staff were incredibly welcoming and accommodating, even offered some free and valuable tips for visiting the Wall. Incredibly close to the main entrance and even delicious food just in case! I can't recommend this place enough. I would book again in a heartbeat. Thank you to everyone who made our stay and (first time visiting this wonderful place) something memorable.

May and David are perfect hosts. They have been really helpful and very kind to us. They gave us plenty of information about the history of the Great Wall and about our visit. The courtyard is located not far from the entrance (15 minutes walking) and thanks to this stay in Badaling we could enjoy the experience of visiting the Wall at sunset. Absolutely recommended.

My experience was simply amazing! I was extremely satisfied with the friendliness, helpfulness, and availability of the staff — always ready to assist with a smile. Both David and May were amazing hosts, served me both on arrival and departure with great tea, amazing biscuits, and a warm welcome and goodbye. When I was in doubt both were always available via text message to clarify how to visit the great wall.

Everything exceeded my expectations, I don't have any complaints whatsoever.

Traditional Chinese shi he yuan, felt very homey and welcomed by the owner. He picked us up from the train station at night and good hospitality during our 3 night stay. Very convenient location if u want to climb the badaling great wall during day time and also night time. Bed was on the hard side, due to traditional wooden bed, but we were able to rest comfortably.

Location is main positive key, you are 15min away from main entrance and cable way, second - host is really friendly and sharing some tips for the tourist I am really appreciate that. And beer cheaper than in stores near wall xD

everything was fine, just few objections about hardness of bed and local roommates who'd like to talk loudly and if you tired and want a rest it would be hard

Great Location, close to the China Great Wall main Entrance. David (our Host) was amazing, he speaks very good English and helped us with whatever we needed there. We enjoyed our Stay there and will stay definately once again with him. Room was clean and very cheap

Our Host was very Kind and gave us insider Tipps and helped us all time with whatever needed.

This is a well run Hutong Hotel, located in a small village adjacent to the Great Wall. David is a super host, the room was totally clean and the courtyard is a very nice place to hang out.
