Great location in the heart of town. Free earplugs are provided if you need them since you can hear people in the square in the evening. But everything was basically quiet by 10:30pm. Also, free degreaser, rags and chain oil to clean your bicycle and a proper tire pump available. Good breakfast, beautiful room and lovely communal balcony overlooking the square on which to enjoy a sundowner.

Great location in the middle of a really buzzing town that has lots happening. The staff were really friend and helpful and there was excellent secure parking for my motorcycle. I had an excellent breakfast before I left that set me up for a day on the road.

Nothing! It was a pity I was only there one night and couldn’t spend more time in wonderful surroundings.

Nothing to dislike, convenient location in the centre of Barcelonnette, staff were extremely helpful, the room warm, clean and tastefully decorated in a hotel full of character. Good breakfast All ar a good price. No hesitation in recommending to others

Fabulous 'old school' French guest house/hotel right in the town square. Stayed there many times, and wouldn't consider staying anywhere else in Barcelonnette... Lovely 'shabby chic' decor, tastefully presented. Creaky old wooden building that has been renovated to 'just right', comfortable rooms. Step outside to all the delightful atmosphere of a provincial French town, with a bunch of great restaurants to choose from.

Breakfast/ parking was sorta expensive- perhaps the host could have offered these complimentary with 2x big groups (8 rooms) for 2 nights. 😊😉

Perfectly located in the centre of town this charming hotel with its imaginative decor is a jewel. The staff are helpful and understanding and the availability of secure covered parking is a bonus.

If I was to nitpick the water pressure in the shower was a little low.

Classic older style hotel, run by an energetic man. Nice rooms, small as one would expect, but not tiny. Clean and airy. VG bathroom. Breakfast was fantastic. Plenty to eat and choose. Coffee on tap! Hotel was full....always a good sign. View out window of room was 'to-die-for'.

We had a really nice stay at Le Grand Hotel during our bicycle trip through the French alps. The Hotel is very well equipped for bike riders including a safe room for the bicycles, air compressor, chain oil, etc. The breakfast with regional cheese and honey was quite good.

Location of this hotel is perfect, close to the heart of Barcelonnette, drinks on the balcony, followed by a short walk to the local restaurants Breakfast was of a high standard and quality. Parking for motorbikes (secure garage) however we chose to park for free in the car park next to the hotel (as did majority of motorbikes)

We stayed here for 6 nights as a base for exploring the mountains and gorges by motorbike - it's a great location for doing this or any of the outdoor activities the region is famous for. Large secure garage parking for motorbikes available, or leave them outside. The hotel is a traditional / original town hotel full of character, right in the main square. That means you are going to be in the heart of activity - it's what you come for - but the double glazing does work well. Rooms and en-suites are clean, well decorated and well maintained. Hosts and staff very welcoming and helpful. Breakfast - fresh croissant and bread, cereal, yoghurt, cheese, juice and a high quality coffee machine. The town has a good number of restaurants but advise reserving a table (we stayed in August) as they were very busy each evening, especially being Mexican festival week. The hotel balcony was an excellent viewing point for the evening stage shows.

Breakfast was superb. Location great for our needs...cycling holiday. felt very welcomed, we were treated generously, and felt at home. Accommodating and gracious hosts.

I prefer a softer bed and will ask if such is available next time.
