This was a gem. We were traveling, on the way from Plitvice Lakes to Salzburg. It was getting late and I was looking for the place to stay. I’m so glad I booked our night at this hotel. It was absolutely wonderful experience. The place is located in the old monastery, the courtyard has an interesting history. We are coming late, I wasn’t in touch with the person who responded my phone call.. Karin Mena Liriano was very attentive to our needs, making sure we feel very welcomed.

Excellent property with real character in nice and quiet area. We had two dogs with us and there was a plenty of space to walk them. We loved the hotel but staying only for one night we didn’t get a chance to make the most of what it had to offer. Clean, spacious, excellent food, wonderful and helpful staff - especially lovely Julia who put our personal things (food) in the hotel’s fridge over night. Small shop in the hotel allowed a purchase of a local products We would love to be back there again!

Great, spiritual and balanced atmosphere in the spacious, simple but very clean rooms. Accommodation in a former monastery, with wide hallways and high ceilings, silent and green surroundings, well maintained garden and beatiful cathedral and museum within the complex makes one feel very special while staying there. Nice breakfast, pleasant staff, free parking behind the hotel.

My wife and I managed only one night and one walk, as we were on our way to our planned holiday in Italy. We can very easily imagine a longer stay here: - The location is indeed very special. Gurk itself has certainly a fantastic setting, but the hotel is the place itself. - The room was very spacious, the bathroom itself had the size of a hotel room :-). We had the luck to have a corner room, with windows facing two directions with great views, but I can imagine that each room is great. - Parking is just right to the entrance, easy. - The staff was friendly and helpful. - We had just the breakfast; the unusual is that you have your table reserved; actually the system is fine, particularly if the place is more busy than during our stay. The choice and the quality was very good. Apart from the pre-paid meal we had a little wine and coffee in the coffee next to the reception desk, and it was great. - You can make walks or trips around, the countryside just invites for that. And you can hire a bike, if you decide only later. - A cozy little sitting area in the room, if you want to just sit what a while with your cup of tea/coffee (tea/coffee making possible in the room). - WiFi was available and working.

One more lamp in the room would be great, to be able to read not directly at the desk or in bed.

We (family with 2 children) had a great stay. The staff were extremely friendly and helpful. We had dinner (extra) and breakfast (included); both were buffet style and good value for money. The playground was fun for the kids. The rooms in the old monastery are large and still have some of their original features.

Fashionable hotel, rebuilt castle with comfortable interior, great sauna etc. Local village walking nearby. Very tasty breakfast buffet. Room was very comfortable for sleeping. Children slept in bunk bed. Bathroom was equipped well. Very recommended here.

I could not find orange juice in breakfast.

The location and the building renovation are great. The room is large, with high ceilings and modern furniture. It is quiet and peaceful. The bathroom is also spacious. Overall, the facilities make a comfortable stay, and the surrounding area is beautiful for walking and driving around. Straßburg Castle nearby gives insights into the local history.

Overall, it was a very pleasant stay. However, our could have been better cleaned, and at breakfast, the quantities could have been better managed so they would not run out of some items nor waste others.

The accomodation is quite unique, its a very interesting chance to live in the old convent and even thouhgh it might be scary, the energy is peaceful and nice, you also live close to the beautiful church. Accomodation itself is great and we really enjoyed the spacious room.

One thing i would change was the missing tourist information in different language than german, all brovhures flyers even the QR code information was only in german as same as at the reception. Personal was fluent in english, but i had to use wikipedia to get to know something about the surroundings

You can enjoy the traditional architectural style and the beauty of the cathedral together. The friendly staff’s guidance warmed my heart. Needless to say, the price was good.

There was a little smell in the bathroom, but it wasn't uncomfortable. There was no refrigerator, so I kept my drinks by the window.

It’s a perfect place to have rest. The view is amazing! Calm and cozy. The room was very big with excellent linens and pillows. Just walls were left from the monastery. Everything is modern and new. The service is perfect, we arrived late but had drinks and snacks at the bar. The breakfast is buffet, you will have a great variety of foods. It’s a pretty nice place to explore the nature and local cuisine! We will come back for sure!
