The location. I can walk to Kars Citadel and Fehtiye Cami. I got 3 beds in my rooms I slept on all.of them. Water pressure is good. WiFi is ok to work online. Many grocery shops and eateries in every blocks. The hotel owner is really helpful.

The last day I checkout, the hotel owner helped get me a taxi to Golden Karadeniz bus stop. It was agreed on the phone between the taxi driver and the owner that the fare was 250TL. Once I arrived at the bus, the driver charged me 420 TL. It was only a short ride. I paid 220 TL in Istanbul to SAW airport.I am surprised with the difference

The manager helped me with getting to Ani, told me exactly where and when to catch the local bus (very useful as the bus times change and so the small bits of information online might not be correct). Worth noting it was 30TL each way when I went and the bus left Kars at 9am, and the return left Ani at 12:45pm - this can change though so check with the hotel. Hotel is located centrally within Kars (which is small anyway), so you are less than 5 minutes walk to supermarkets and restaurants (there is also a Burger King directly across the road but I didn't go there).

Room was a bit small but this was sort of expected.

Very hospitable staff, made a great first impression! Good central location and nice rate for the small single room. Staff helped organize a day trip to Ani ruins which was a highlight. Good wifi and hot water always a plus!

Not much of a lobby, just a small sitting area, but nice views from the rooms.

Location of the property was great, the city of Kars was beautiful and we loved looking around. The hotel room itself was clean, the beds were comfortable. Great value for money. The staff were incredibly friendly and helpful with answering all our questions too!

Not a deal breaker but the bathroom was very small.

The room could've used thicker curtains - there was a street lamp right outside the window so the room was always lighted up even during the night.

Great location. Great vibe with lots of travellers from around the world. Staff super nice and helpful. Offered tea all the time and always had time to chat. Helped us get transport to Georgian border which was so kind.

Great location, right in the center of Kars, comfortable bed, room is spacious and bright, super friendly staff who is always there to answer your questions, manager/owner helped us arranging a day tour to Ani ruins and the lake with a local tour agency(with local tourist price), we wanted to take the shuttle bus but this ended up so much nicer with convenience and comfort, please talk to them about it if you are traveling to Kars because of Ani. 10 out of 10 experience overall!

There is no lift in the hotel, if you have heavy luggage it might be a workout!

The location is great, just 10 minutes walking away from the train station. The staff was super helpful helping me with the taxi and everything. The area is really nice, there are many local cheese stores in the neighbourhood.

The shower was not working because there was a piece missing, so it was not really possible to wash my hair.

The Konak hotel is ideally located in the city center, close to all the shops and restaurants and also (importantly) close to the bus station that goes to Ani (the region's must-see site). In addition to these practicalities, the hotel staff and especially the owner made our stay very pleasant. Very friendly, they also helped us a lot in our travels.

Room was just like we expected from the pictures, very nice and clean. It would be even better to have a small table and a chair. There was also very good wifi. And above all, manager is super helpful and friendly, speaks english perfectly (which is very rare in Kars). He helped us to arrange a taxi to Ani and to the airport and gave us a lot of helpful advice.
