Nice swimming pool: pleasant water temperature. Good gym, Ping pong room. Good breakfast, a lot of local and western food to choose from.

Hotel is big, and breakfast room is big too... and sometime is noisy and crowded. No big issue anyway. Breakfast is good ... could be great increasing quality on croissants and coffee quality (this is from western point of view). Avoid the travel agency at the hotel lobby (not run by the hotel, but it is in the lobby...): asked for prices and decided to go by myself: saved a lot of money! (beware, in Guilin, you, as a tourist, will be overcharged sooner or later, but at least try your best!... but is is another story!)

This was one of the most outstanding hotels I have ever stayed in. The pool and spa facilities stayed open until 10 or 11PM, which is so unique. We had the sauna and large hot tub to ourselves in the ladies changing room. It was an amazing thing to have after a long rainy day around Guilin. The hotel is beautiful, you get a firm and a soft pillow, and there are loads of tiny luxuries that make your stay the most relaxing you can imagine. The breakfast variety, quality and presentation was outstanding. I thin this hotel offers fantastic value for money, if in doubt, go ahead, treat yourself!

Everything about the hotel was amazing except for the AC, we stayed for 3 nights, and every day, they used to turn the AC off in the evening as the outside weather was cold. Mr.Alex the concierge, was very very good. Mr.Kyra at the reception gave us early checkin as well.

We specifically had asked for a room with a nice view as I had booked a room with a terrace and mountain view, the person at the reception counter Mr.Kyra gave us the room with no mountain view which was disappointing but the morning staff was very good to take proper action and changed the room immediately. Mr.Alex the concierge, helped us as he was the only one who spoke proper english, hotel should promote him.

The breakfast was really really good, a combination of western and Chinese food which I enjoyed a loot. The rooms are spacious, comfortable, and clean. The staff is really nice and helpful. There is a travel agency within the hotel that helps you book trips during your stay in Guilin - which is super helpful.

It's not that I didn't like this things, it's just that what I didn't love is: - The outside "pool" is not actually a pool, it's only a fountain (it's my fault that I thought it's a pool, but a resort like this maybe should have one) - When we were there the indoor pool was out of service - Not everyone from the staff speaks English (and I think they should) - The lobby is quite sterile and expensive - I have higher expectations for a 5 star hotel, but it's a very good value for the money nevertheless.

Great view, big room, fantastic services, especially at the horizon club lounge. Anna Mao in the lounge was very attentive and thoughtful, the glasses are always filled, questions are always answered.Happy hour at the club lounge is not the normal “hors d'oeuvre”, you can basically have dinner there. View from the room is great too! I stayed in 2 shangri-la hotels in this trip but Guilin Shangri-la is next level compared to the other one. We truely enjoy the stay and hoping to come back again.

Nothing, everything is great

Room where spacious, comfortable and the view on the river Li was stunning. The bar was very cosy with warm colors and with a great with on the garden. A beautiful botanic garden with direct access on the river

Breakfast could be better. We got an enormous group the last day rushing at breakfast. We do not expect that in a five star hotel. Too many staff do not speak english

Club lounge food was exceptional, with many items to choose. Dimsum at Shang Palace was delicious, with good service especially by Ms. Tina Nong. We enjoyed watching sunset from our west facing river view room. The hotel garden was spacious and well kept.

Breakfast was quite disappointing comparing to other Shangri-la we used to stay.

Location, cleanliness, friendliness

Keycards are swipe-types which are outdated and always malfunction. The cards cut for one of our rooms were not working after check-in, so we had to walk all the way back to front desk to re-cut after testing at the room, which is far.

The facility and amenities were great. The staff was very welcoming and friendly and were very helpful in translating information to us. The food was exceptional, especially the breakfast buffet. We also enjoyed UBar night food and drink menus. We would highly recommend this hotel to anyone staying in Guilin.

Amazing views form the rooms of Guilin... for me one of the best views in the town. The facilities are super complet, wonderful pace to be with kids becaus they have a mini zoo and a kid park inside the hotel. The breakfast very good.
