From the beginning to the end we really enjoyed our stay. Not just the people there are great but the whole island is just amazing. Make sure to do a snorkeling island hopping tour or take the SUB to explore the amazing under water world.

A little bit more veggie/vegan options would have been great.

We had a very relaxing time here. Margo and team really looked after us and ensured we had the perfect combination of relaxing and adventures. The hammock was perfect to spend a day reading and snorkling from, and we also enjoyed watching the goat roam around during the day. You can see the efforts they are making to restore and regenerate the coral, and this will only improve more as time goes on. As it is if you jump of the pier you can see clownish straight away, and if you snorkel further to the left approx 100m you will come across a pretty decent local reef which it is easy to spend a few hours a day swimming around. We hired a scooter from them and as I had never driven one before they kindly and patiently showed me how everything worked and took me for a little drive around first to build up confidence. 100% hope to return one day.

We had a wonderful time at Alam Kita! Margo and her team are fantastic and not only fulfill your every wish, but create such a familiar and welcoming atmosphere that we immediately felt at home. That was unique on our trip through Java. About the accommodation: our bungalow was super clean, equipped with a mosquito net (believe me, you need it!) and had a very practical terrace with a view of the sea. We particularly liked the outdoor shower, and every now and then a frog or gecko kept us company! :D About the ambience: the grounds are beautiful and natural. There are opportunities to relax everywhere, whether it's a hammock, loungers or benches. There is no beach, but there is a great jetty from which you can enjoy a fantastic sunset and jump into the crystal-clear water at any time. If you prefer sand between your toes, then the nearby beaches (5 minutes by scooter, which you can easily hire at Alam Kita) offer a good alternative. The atmosphere is very relaxing and Alam Kita is the right place to come down! The food: the pancakes at breakfast were so delicious that I didn't want anything else for breakfast anymore. And as coffee lovers we were not disappointed either. You could enjoy a buffet both at lunchtime and in the evening. During our 5-day stay, we were able to try something different every day and you can taste that they cook with love! Beer and even wine are also on the menu. Other things: you can book some activities with Alam Kita, for example we enjoyed the massage (we can only recommend it to everyone!), rented snorkeling equipment and scooters and took part in star gazing (very fascinating). You can also book a snorkeling tour, which we didn't do due to lack of time, but it's supposed to be very nice. Margo helped us with our boat tickets and transportation, everything went smoothly! Alam Kita is idyllic. It's been designed and created to make you feel at one with nature from the moment you step into the property. You may see monkeys, you'll definitely see a goat, and you'll hear all the things to remind you that you are in the middle of a protected national park. The lapping of the ocean and the fish jumping from the stunning, long jetty. The myriad of birds in the trees. Bats at night. If you're looking to get away and submerge yourself in a sound and visual bath, this is the place. Island hopping, snorkelling, diving, and even hiking, can be arranged by the friendly and efficient staff working for owner Margo. As well as the usual retreat things if that's what you're in to (yoga being one of many wellness activities), I recommend this piece of paradise if you make the effort to get to Karimun Jawa (and I think it's well worth it). Great having filtered water available for re-filling drink bottles. A tasty breakfast whereby my gluten free diet was catered for as much as possible.

This is nit-picking and comes with the territory in the tropics and hard to avoid, but due to the humidity, the room and bedding were a little damp. Half day scooter hire options would be awesome.

I’ve travelled all over the world, and this was one of my favorite places I’ve ever stayed. I can’t recommend it enough. The entire staff knew me by name (they even found out it was my birthday and sang for me and made a special birthday treat for me), everything was located onsite (yoga, massage, even a snorkeling tour that pulled right up to the pier), and the place was just gorgeous. Incredibly kind and generous people. You should book without hesitation

What an outstanding little gem!!! Set on a lush cliff side facing the most glorious blue sea, this group of traditional Joglo villas are simple yet inviting, and comfortable with all you need including personal amenities. Margo and all the team are an absolute delight, always there , but never intrusive. Food is awesome, and all activities are fairly priced and costs are transparent. Do yourself a favour and visit Alam Kita

Everything was superb

Alam Kita is a lovely place to stay, 10 to 15 mins outside the town on a scooter. Staff were fabulous, and breakfast was tasty. They organised a snorkelling trip for 7 of us, and it was great. Sunset beach was a 20 mins walk away.

I had the room with shared bathroom. The room was comfortable, but it was right next to the road, and I was kept awake with scooters and motor bikes late at night and early in the morning.

Our stay at Alam Kita was truly delightful! The food was exceptional, served with warmth and generosity by the fantastic staff. Everyone was incredibly helpful and friendly, making our time there even more enjoyable. The place itself was stunning, offering beautiful surroundings and a peaceful atmosphere. It's important to note, though, that since the apartments were partially open, we did encounter various animals both inside and near our accommodation. However, despite this, the experience was wonderful. I'd highly recommend Alam Kita for its great hospitality, delicious food, and the natural beauty that surrounds it.

We loved the ambience around Alma Kita, from the moment we arrived it was obvious that this small resort was special. There is a very relaxed atmosphere and it is very easy to spend the day around the resort and see no one as there is a small number of rooms, for us, a real plus. There is a dedicated quiet spot for meditation, relaxation etc. Margo and her staff are very welcoming and made sure all our needs were catered for. There is a strong eco - friendly culture in the resort which I particularly liked. We ate in most nights, the food was delicious and cheap. Breakfast was also a treat with western options which included delicious banana pancakes which I highly recommend. The rooms were cleaned every day and the bed was very comfortable.

I had a wonderful stay at Alam Kita. Margo and her team are super friendly and always willing to help to make your stay a truly memorable one. The setting is beautiful, surrounded by abundant nature, and the pier is a perfect spot to watch the sunset or go for a snorkel on the pristine nearby coral reef. It is a perfect place to stay while enjoying the paradise of Karimunjawa.

Mosquitoes can be a nuisance (normal in such a natural setting), so bringing a strong repellent is recommended. There can be some early morning noise (from fishing boats, nearby mosques, etc.), so if you're a light sleeper or not an early bird, good ear plugs are recommended!
