Our luxury suite was clean, spacious, comfortable and equipped with everything we needed for a two night stay. The small bath was an unexpected luxury. The building was well sound proofed, ensuring a peaceful sleep. Although the hotel is situated on the main road leading into Kakamas, we were not disturbed by traffic noise. After a busy day of sight seeing, it was nice to have a restaurant on site and our evening meals were good. The breakfast choices were limited but of an acceptable standard. Throughout our visit the staff were friendly and polite.

There was a bad smell at times but it may have been caused by the above average rainfall in the area. Perhaps a factor beyond the hotel management's control.

The location is excellent for visiting the Augrabies Falls National Park... We spent two happy nights there, so we could enjoy a full day in the park and then be quickly able to reach Upington on the 2nd morning, on our way to the fabulous Kgalagadi Frontier Park. Politeness of staff was wonderful. Breakfast was very fine and we enjoyed great food off the menu on two evenings. Portions were very generous and prices very reasonable. My daughter particularly enjoyed the chicken schnitzel and myself the T-bone steak. Room was spacious, with fridge, full bathroom and comfortable beds with extra blankets! We went away with all good feelings and positive impressions - as well as enjoying a wonderful day in the Augrabies Park!

Nothing of note - everything was very fine!

The staff commitment to service was above and beyond. Truly amazing! The pool area, BBQ area and Bar area were great, welcoming, spacious and relaxed.

The food was generally nice but overly sweet as is normal in the area. They could benefit from getting in a consultant chef to review the menu and train, as one needs to eat in the hotel given it's location. This pics online made it look like the rooms have views of the vineyards. They do not - that is a seperate property. Your view is a small window onto the parking.

We have driven past the hotel previously and needed an overnight stay. Lovely, enviting big bed, white linen. The room was quiet although the road passes by to Kakamas/Augrabies/the farms. You can stay here more than 1 night and visit the falls and all the farms and surroundings. We enjoyed dinner next to the splash pool, breakfast was available from 7am, self serve on jogurt and fruit, and warm breakfast to be ordered.

Maybe proper coffee for breakfast?

Breakfast was good, but if you arrived a little later, then the buffet was no longer set up, but the cooked breakfast was very good. The fruit juices were not fresh, it was powder juices I think. Dinner was fantastic and value for money and the portions were huge. The beef schnitzel and oxtail were delicious. Thank you to the Manager who changed our room to have a room with a shower and to be next to my mother, much appreciated.

The rooms were a little dark and the patio in the afternoons were freezing

The facilities were wonderful and the room was very modern and clean. The dinners in the resturant were excellent. Our room only had one towel and no spoons or stirrers for the coffee. The staff at the breakfast were unattentive and on both days the tables were not made up. We loved the place but think the front line staff need more training. The one young female waitress was excellent, however the others less so.

Nice room, very quiet, bed comfy, staff very friendly and attentive. Only there for a stopover so we got what we wanted, i.e. comfortable sleep and a good meal.

staff seemed to be under pressure to deliver to a fully booked hotel. Needed more staff for the busy period. Pool better if not surrounded by people, and if it was a little bigger also would be good Breakfast was a little haphazard. Coffee machine didn't work which is essential for breakfast

Lovely clean and comfortable stay at Kakamas Hotel. The perfect halfway point for us that gave us some rest and kept us fed and watered with a generous restaurant on site. Breakfast was just what we needed. Bonus for a family of kittens and geese that hung around the property!

The only downside is that our unit joined with another unit with a (locked) adjoining door, but meant you could hear almost everything happening next door (which unfortunately was a crying baby during our stay).

The staff was very friendly and helpfull. We enjoyed the meals at the restaurant very much especially the lamb curry. In all a good experience

It is located right next to a busy national road -- although easy to get a around from there by car going on a walk is not possible something we like to do after a long drive. The rooms are not sound proof.

We had amazing service from the staff. Dinner was next level, and they did spoil us with a beautiful table outside with candlelight. Feel free to ask for that. We also had safe parking inside for our car.

The lodge just needs a little detailed cleaning, and old decorations needs refreshing. They have geese that are super special but can make a little mess on the verandah's so make sure you tread lightly :-)
